Halo: The Master Chief Omnibus, a hardcover collection from Gallery Books, arrives on November 10, Polygon reports. It gathers three early Halo novels, The Fall of Reach and First Strike by Eric Nylund and The Flood by William C. Dietz, together with a new foreword and additional material. The books cover the Spartan-II program and John-117's origins, a retelling of Halo: Combat Evolved, and the bridge to Halo 2; this is a book release, not a new game.

Stellar Blade adds four free Bayonetta crossover outfits for Eve on PS5 and PC
Stellar Blade's Bayonetta collaboration outfits are out now and free for all players on PS5 and PC, Push Square reports, arriving alongside the game's Switch 2 launch. Shift Up's PC patch notes for version 1.5.0 list four Couture Bullet nanosuits (Bayonetta, Jeanne, Nun and Black Tresses, the last an original Shift Up design) plus two pairs of glasses and two pairs of earrings. The update also fixes the side quest A United People Cannot be Defeated not progressing and a bug that could leave Emil stuck on a cliff in the southern Wasteland.

SAG-AFTRA's new pitch agreement lets studios hire union actors for demos before they have funding
SAG-AFTRA has unveiled the Pre-Funding Pitch Interactive Media Agreement, which lets developers bring union voice and motion performers onto a game before it has been pitched to publishers, for work such as an internal teaser trailer or a vertical slice demo, VGC reports. The agreement cannot be used for crowdfunded games. Union president Sean Astin said it lets developers bring in professional talent earlier to make a higher-quality pitch, with the goal of winning funding.

Pokémon Center pushes UK Delta Reign pre-orders to mid-November as US buyers wait for word
The Pokémon Company has told UK Pokémon Center customers that their Delta Reign Elite Trainer Box, Booster Bundle and Booster Box orders will now ship sometime in mid-November instead of for the set's Friday, November 6 launch, Polygon reports. US customers had not been told of a delay when Polygon published, though their pre-orders still had not been charged and the store was down for maintenance. Polygon says the Delta Reign launch at major retailers is going ahead as planned.

EA's Restored Classic Sale on Steam adds 25 games from its back catalogue: seven Anniversary Editions of Road Rash and the Wing Commander series, plus 18 other classics including the Ultima games, Ultima Underworld I and II, Theme Hospital and Crusader: No Remorse. On Steam the Anniversary Editions are $4.99 (normally $9.99) and older titles such as Wing Commander: Privateer and Ultima IV are $2.49 (normally $4.99) until November 19. Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted and MySims: Cozy Bundle join EA Play on Xbox
EA says both classics are now on The Play List for EA Play members on Xbox, playable via Xbox Cloud Gaming, PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate. Replanted is an HD remaster with new levels, local co-op and PvP and a permadeath Rest In Peace mode, while the Cozy Bundle packs MySims and MySims Kingdom. A BioWare documentary filmed during the studio's final two years is headed for a 2027 premiere
Massive Effect: The BioWare Story, a feature documentary commissioned by Canada's Super Channel, will trace the Edmonton studio from its 1995 founding by three medical doctors to 100 million games sold, Deadline reports. Filming began two years before EA announced BioWare's closure on October 21 and continued through it; co-founders Ray Muzyka, Greg Zeschuk and Augustine Yip appear alongside Casey Hudson, Mark Darrah, David Gaider and voice actor Jennifer Hale. Written and directed by Akash Sherman, the film is planned for a festival run and a world premiere next year.

Xbox Insiders get a redesigned Xbox PC app today that Microsoft says opens up to 60% faster
Starting today, Xbox Insiders can try an updated Xbox PC app that, by Microsoft's own testing, launches up to 60% faster and loads Home, Store and Game Pass pages up to 50% faster. The update also moves friends and social features into the main navigation, simplifies the Library and widens search to installed games, add-ons and people. Over the next few weeks Microsoft will roll the refreshed cloud gaming web experience at play.xbox.com, with a new Library tab, a desktop mode and five high-contrast options, out to more players automatically, and the new look is starting to reach Xbox cloud gaming apps on supported TVs and VR headsets.

Nintendo says it has enough memory and isn't planning another Switch 2 price rise
Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa told Reuters that the company has secured enough memory to keep building Switch 2 consoles and does not plan to raise the console's price again, Eurogamer reports. The Switch 2 already went up by $50 / €30 / ¥10,000 on September 1 in the US, Canada, Japan and Europe, as the AI-driven memory and storage shortage pushed PlayStation and Xbox into price hikes of their own.

007 First Light's opening mission is now free to play on Steam and Xbox, with PS5 following on November 10

Tim Sweeney says the shift to AI tools can't be stopped as Unreal Engine 6 drops Blueprints for Verse
At Unreal Fest Tokyo 2026, which opened on November 3, Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney said Unreal Engine 6 will retire the actor, Blueprint and C++ gameplay framework in favour of Verse-based development, with AI-assisted migration for existing projects and early access aimed at roughly 2027, Famitsu reports. Sweeney apologised for the disruption but argued the pain comes only once and productivity rises sharply afterwards, adding that Epic already sees internal gains of 1.5 to 4 times. In a media Q&A reported by Denfaminico Gamer, he said studios that adopt AI tools will gain a big competitive edge over those that don't and that the trend, with adoption rising in China and South Korea, cannot be stopped.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla's free 'Most Requested Update' is out with New Game+ and upgraded PSSR on PS5 Pro
Ubisoft's free update for Assassin's Creed Valhalla is live today on PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, adding New Game+ (unlocked after the Holy Day quest, with difficulty that scales on each run), a new upgrade resource called Mithril, a gear level cap raised from 13 to 27, a Ravensthorpe stash and a new Superior rune tier with more than 300 engravable runes in the Rune Forge. An Extended Progression Mode lets gear upgrades, runes and masteries count toward your power level, and most of the new systems also work outside New Game+, says lead game designer David Larouche. On PS5 Pro, Ubisoft told the PlayStation Blog the upgraded PSSR gives sharper 4K image quality in Quality mode at 60fps.

Switch Sports Resort tops Japan's Famitsu chart again as Switch 2 sells 68,733 units in a week
Nintendo Switch Sports Resort on Switch 2 was Japan's best-selling single physical release for October 26 to November 1 with 23,466 more copies (88,098 total), according to Famitsu estimates reported by Gematsu, though Final Fantasy Resonance sold more overall with 34,068 copies across Switch 2, PS5 and Switch. Minecraft's Switch 2 version was the top new release at 11,754 copies. On hardware, Switch 2 sold 68,733 units, against 16,226 for the PS5 family, 5,853 for the Switch family and 892 for Xbox Series.

NIKKE's PC launcher was tampered with by a third party; Level Infinite urges players to install the fixed client
The official NIKKE account says script files used by the game's PC Launcher may have been tampered with by a third party, and that a client fix and update went out on November 4 at about 02:30 UTC+9 (17:30 UTC on November 3). In a statement reported by Kotaku, publisher Level Infinite says players' PCs and account information may have been exposed and advises anyone who launched the game since September 27 to close all browsers and install the new client, which can scan for and remove malicious programs spread through the compromised client. Level Infinite says it is still investigating and asks players who suffered a loss to contact customer support.

Obsidian has opened a PC public test that lets you play all of Pillars of Eternity and Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire with a controller, from character creation to the credits (naval combat included in Deadfire), in both Real-Time with Pause and Turn-Based Mode, and you can swap back to mouse and keyboard at any time. Deadfire's Turn-Based Mode is also reworked so turns follow each character's speed and can be toggled mid-playthrough. To try it, pick the public_beta branch under Properties > Betas in your Steam Library; Obsidian warns to expect bugs before the full release.

Fortnite Crew drops monthly skins and the OG Pass on December 5 in favour of more V-Bucks
Epic is overhauling its Fortnite Crew subscription from December 5, VGC reports: December's Crew Pack will be the last one, and the OG Pass ends that day, with Epic saying the next era of Fortnite OG arrives in late 2027. Instead of the old 800 V-Bucks, members will get 1,000 to 1,600 V-Bucks a month depending on how long they've been subscribed (existing membership time counts), plus 20% extra XP, while the Battle Pass, Music Pass, Lego Pass and Rocket Pass Premium stay included. Crew costs $11.99 / £9.99 a month and is also part of Game Pass Ultimate.

Gray Zone Warfare's 0.5.1.0 patch makes enemy AI fairer and cuts the Hideout grind
MADFINGER Games has put Patch 0.5.1.0 live for Gray Zone Warfare, the first patch for its Rogue Ops update, saying it brings over 40 changes to AI perception, combat behavior, movement and cover use: distant enemies now only get an approximate fix on you from gunshots, no longer instantly share your exact position, and moving slowly makes your footsteps harder to hear. The studio has also rebalanced the Hideout economy with bigger rewards and sell prices, shorter production and disassembly times and lighter building materials, and fixed the 'different game version' error that stopped players inviting friends. Take-Two's Zelnick calls GTA 6 'handcrafted' but says the company is trying AI to make games more efficiently
Asked about AI in an on-stage interview at WSJ Tech (published by WSJ Events on YouTube), Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick said Grand Theft Auto 6 is handcrafted, while noting that games are made on computers with technology and that Take-Two has been in the AI and machine learning business for a long time. He added that the company is trying everything it can to make better games more efficiently, according to Insider Gaming's transcript. This was a conference interview, not an earnings call; Insider Gaming notes Zelnick said in February that generative AI played no part in GTA 6, which launches November 19.

Sony shipped 2.6 million PS5 consoles in the July to September 2026 quarter, taking the lifetime total to 97.9 million, according to its quarterly results as reported by Gematsu. Sony also said Marvel's Wolverine had sold 2.4 million units as of November 4, and that PlayStation Network had 127 million monthly active users at the end of September.

Nintendo has now sold 26.35 million Switch 2 consoles worldwide
Nintendo's latest sales data, current to September 30, 2026, puts lifetime Switch 2 hardware sales at 26.35 million units and Switch 2 software at 73.21 million. Mario Kart World remains the top Switch 2 seller at 16.48 million, ahead of Donkey Kong Bananza at 5.05 million, while newcomer Splatoon Raiders has reached 2.42 million. The original Switch now stands at 157.20 million consoles sold.

Honkai: Nexus Anima is set for spring 2027, with a final closed beta from November 25
miHoYo says its open-world creature-catching RPG Honkai: Nexus Anima will launch on PC, iOS and Android in spring 2027. A limited-slot Final Closed Beta on the same platforms begins November 25, with sign-ups open now on the official website and progress wiped when the test ends. The beta adds the ranked Nexus Arena PvP mode, Chromatic Anima forms and a change that makes the first 5-star Eidos or Anima a player pulls the current limited one, according to miHoYo's announcement as reported by Gematsu.

Mob Entertainment cuts 16 jobs on its Escape From Playtime team, says the game will keep going
Poppy Playtime developer Mob Entertainment laid off members of its Escape From Playtime team on November 4, with the game having launched only last month; lead game designer Richard Maddern announced on LinkedIn that he and several teammates are now looking for work. In a statement to Insider Gaming, the studio said the downsizing means 16 departures, 'the minority of whom were permanent employees', and gave no reason for the cuts. It insists 'Escape From Playtime is continuing development' through early access and that its plans for a full 1.0 launch haven't changed.

BioWare fans take their fight to Canada's Parliament with a petition asking Ottawa to fund an independent studio
An e-petition on the House of Commons website, opened on November 4 and sponsored by NDP MP Don Davies, asks the Government of Canada to give BioWare 'the capital necessary' to become independent of Electronic Arts, together with its intellectual property, after EA shut the studio down. It calls BioWare one of Canada's most important cultural exports and is open only to Canadian citizens and residents; it had 1,476 validated signatures when we checked and closes on March 4, 2027. VGC notes EA never mentioned looking for a buyer for BioWare, so it is unclear whether EA would cooperate even if the government took an interest.

Nintendo offers a Zelda 40th anniversary pin set for Platinum Points in the US
Nintendo has released a two-pin set for The Legend of Zelda's 40th anniversary to Nintendo store users in the US, priced at 800 Platinum Points, Nintendo Life reports. One pin shows the 40th anniversary logo and the other the logo of the Ocarina of Time remake that launched on Switch 2 this week. The set is limited to one order per account, and shipping fees apply.

Kirby Air Riders gets version 1.3.4 with Stadium event bug fixes
Nintendo released Kirby Air Riders version 1.3.4 for Switch 2 on November 4, 2026, according to its official support page. The patch fixes a Gourmet Race bug that sometimes gave Gooey extra points for collecting food and a Kirby Melee issue that could stop a match from progressing, with no changes to rider or machine performance. Nintendo warns that 1.3.4 may not be compatible with replays from versions 1.3.0 to 1.3.3, so convert any replays you want to keep to video before updating.

Macronix, a maker of the ROM chips used in Switch cartridges, is phasing out ROM production
Taiwanese memory maker Macronix is gradually phasing out its ROM production, chairman Miin Wu said on the company's Q3 earnings call, as it shifts capacity toward NOR and NAND flash amid what he called very robust data center demand, the Taipei Times reports. The paper notes these ROMs are used in Nintendo's Switch, and The Verge reports Macronix is a supplier of Nintendo's Switch cartridge chips.

Sensor Tower estimates GTA 6 has already passed 7.7 million pre-orders, about three quarters of them on PS5
Data firm Sensor Tower's GTA 6 sales tracker now puts Grand Theft Auto VI at an estimated 7.71 million copies pre-ordered, worth roughly $751 million, two weeks before its November 19 launch, Kotaku reports. By that estimate about 5.74 million pre-orders are on PS5 and 1.97 million on Xbox Series X|S. These are third-party estimates, not figures from Rockstar or Take-Two.
