GTA 6 DualSense in Black and White Limited Editions, $84.99 each from Nov 19. Black is PS Direct-only in the US and UK; White is at retailers too.

Sony is releasing two GTA 6 controllers: the DualSense Wireless Controller – Grand Theft Auto VI Black Limited Edition and the White Limited Edition. Both launch starting November 19, 2026, the same day as the game, at a recommended price of $84.99 / £74.99 / €84.99. The White one is sold at PlayStation Direct and participating retailers. In PlayStation Direct countries, the Black one is sold only at PlayStation Direct.

Everything below comes from Sony’s PlayStation Blog announcement (September 3), the DualSense page on playstation.com and the two PlayStation Direct US product listings, checked on November 5, 2026 at 08:50 UTC.

Quick answer

  • Price: $84.99 USD, £74.99, €84.99, ¥12,480 (incl. tax). The price is the same for both colors.
  • Release date: launches starting November 19, 2026. Sony notes the exact date can vary by country.
  • Black Limited Edition: exclusive to direct.playstation.com where PS Direct operates, and sold through select retailers in other regions.
  • White Limited Edition: sold worldwide at PS Direct and participating retailers.
  • Stock: both are “limited quantities”. PS Direct US limits orders to 1 per customer because of high demand.
  • Bundle: no GTA 6 PS5 console bundle has been announced (see below).

GTA 6 controller price and release date by region

Sony gave one recommended retail price for both designs, so you don’t pay extra for one color. The Southeast Asia version of the PS Blog post lists local prices as well.

Region Recommended price (each) Release
United States $84.99 November 19, 2026
United Kingdom £74.99 November 19, 2026
Eurozone €84.99 November 19, 2026

*Sony’s wording is “will launch starting on November 19”, with a footnote that “the exact launch date and availability for controllers may vary by country/region.” The PlayStation Direct US listings show a release date of 11/19/2026 for both colors. On November 5 those listings showed the price as $84.00, while Sony’s announced RRP is $84.99. Check the checkout total before you pay.

For the game itself, our GTA 6 price by region guide lists Standard and Ultimate Edition prices in each country.

Black vs White: what’s the difference?

The two controllers have the same features and price. Only the color scheme and where you can buy them differ.

Black Limited Edition White Limited Edition
Theme (Sony’s words) Vice City’s “iconic nightlife” Vice City “at daybreak”, white sands and pastel skies
Finish Shimmering, color-shifting (iridescent) finish Shimmering, color-shifting (iridescent) finish
Details Palm tree details molded into the shell, GTA VI branding Palm tree details molded into the shell, GTA VI branding
Where to buy PS Direct only in PS Direct countries; select retailers elsewhere PS Direct and participating retailers worldwide
Price $84.99 / £74.99 / €84.99 $84.99 / £74.99 / €84.99
Release From November 19, 2026 From November 19, 2026

Sony says the finish brings together “the hues of a Vice City sunset and the glow of neon lights”. On both models, the blue-to-purple shift shows on the center section and grips, and a tone-on-tone GTA VI logo sits on the touch pad.

Which one to pick: if you live in the US, UK or one of the other PS Direct countries and you want the Black one, PS Direct is your only source. That makes the Black edition the harder one to get. The White edition is the safer choice if you want to walk into a store or order from a retailer you already use.

Where to buy the GTA 6 DualSense controllers

PlayStation Direct (Black and White)

PS Direct sells both colors. Sony lists PS Direct countries as the U.S., U.K., France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Spain, Italy and Austria. Pre-orders opened there on September 10 at 7:00am PT / 10:00am ET in the US and 10:00am local time in the European PS Direct countries. Sony says eligible PS Direct pre-orders get free launch day delivery.

In Portugal, Sony points buyers to playstation.com/store/hardware instead of PS Direct.

Retailers (White everywhere, Black outside PS Direct countries)

Sony says the White edition is available “at participating retailers” worldwide. The Black edition goes to “select retailers” only in regions without PS Direct. In Southeast Asia, for example, both colors are sold through participating retailers. Sony doesn’t publish a retailer list, so check your usual electronics or game store.

Is it sold out?

Sony describes both as limited-quantity products. The PS Direct US listings say “Due to high demand”, there is a limit of one per order. Stock on PS Direct can change quickly, so check the listing yourself rather than trust a “sold out” screenshot. Sony hasn’t said whether there will be a restock after launch.

Is there a GTA 6 PS5 bundle?

No GTA 6 PS5 console bundle has been announced. Sony’s GTA VI posts on the PlayStation Blog don’t mention one. That includes the June 24 “plays best on PS5” post, the September 3 controller reveal and the November 3 pre-download post. The GTA VI page on playstation.com doesn’t list one either. Sony’s June post only tells new players they can buy a PS5 or PS5 Pro at PS Direct and local retailers. So far, these two controllers are the only GTA VI-themed PlayStation hardware Sony has announced.

Sony has also not announced a GTA VI edition of the DualSense Edge. Its November 3 launch-prep post lists the regular DualSense Edge among accessories for setting up your PS5.

What’s in the box and what it works with

According to the PS Direct listings, the GTA VI controllers have the same feature list as a standard DualSense:

  • Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, which GTA VI supports. The game’s PlayStation page lists “Vibration function and trigger effect supported (DualSense wireless controller)”.
  • Built-in microphone, built-in battery and a USB-C port.
  • Works with PS5, PC, Mac and mobile devices. Apple devices need macOS 11.3, iOS 14.5, iPadOS 14.5 or tvOS 14.5 or later.
  • In the box: the controller and a user manual. No USB cable. Sony says to use the cable that came with your PS5.

Sony’s announcement doesn’t mention a game code or any in-game items with the controllers. You get the design, not GTA VI content. Pre-order bonuses for the game itself, like the Vintage Vice City Pack, are explained in our GTA 6 pre-order and editions guide.

Do you need the special controller to play GTA 6?

No. Any DualSense works. Sony says GTA VI uses the DualSense’s haptic feedback, adaptive triggers and built-in speaker on PS5. These are standard DualSense features, not extras of the limited editions. The GTA VI models are a collector’s design at a higher price. If you just want haptics, the controller that came with your PS5 already has them.

For launch day, two dates matter more than the controller. PS5 pre-download starts November 10 at local midnight, and you need at least 212GB free. Our GTA 6 release time and pre-load guide has the unlock times. The GTA 6 storage guide shows how to make room, and our GTA 6 countdown tracks the days left.

FAQ

How much is the GTA 6 controller?

Sony’s recommended price is $84.99 in the US, £74.99 in the UK and €84.99 in the eurozone. It’s ¥12,480 in Japan. Black and White cost the same.

When does the GTA 6 PS5 controller come out?

Both limited editions launch starting November 19, 2026, the same day as Grand Theft Auto VI. Sony says the exact date can vary by region.

Can you still pre-order the GTA 6 controller?

Pre-orders opened September 10, and the PS Direct listings were still live on November 5. Stock is limited and PS Direct US allows one per order, so availability depends on when you check.
