Written by Hana

Tonight’s Spotlight Hour is Teddiursa wearing a witch hat with 2× Evolution XP, 6-7 p.m. local. UTC times by region plus every November 2026 date.

Tonight’s Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour features Teddiursa wearing a witch hat with a 2× Evolution XP bonus, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. local time on Thursday, November 5, 2026. It’s the last Spotlight Hour of Halloween 2026 and runs inside the final two hours of Halloween Part II, which ends at 8:00 p.m. local tonight. November has two more Spotlight Hours: Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble on November 19, and Noibat on November 26.

Every date below comes from Pokémon GO’s official channels first: the November content update posted by @PokemonGoApp on October 19 and the event posts on pokemongo.com. Leek Duck’s event pages are listed as a second source. Everything was checked on November 5, 2026 at 16:10 UTC.

  • Tonight (Thu Nov 5): Teddiursa wearing a witch hat, 2× Evolution XP, 6-7 p.m. local. Shiny is possible.
  • Thu Nov 12: no Spotlight Hour has been announced. Niantic hasn’t listed one and neither has Leek Duck.
  • Thu Nov 19: Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble, 2× Catch Candy, during Dynamax Trails. Shiny is possible.
  • Thu Nov 26: Noibat, 2× Catch Candy. Shiny is possible. In the US this is Thanksgiving Day.
  • In UTC: the 6 p.m. wave started at 05:00 UTC in New Zealand and reaches Los Angeles at 02:00 UTC on Friday. Asia-Pacific is already done for tonight.

Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour today: Teddiursa wearing a witch hat

The official November graphic lists Teddiursa “wearing a witch hat” for November 5 with 2× Evolution XP, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. During the hour you’ll see a lot more of the featured Pokémon in the wild. Pokémon GO’s own posts describe this bonus as “2× XP for evolving Pokémon”, so as we read it, any Pokémon you evolve during the hour counts, not only Teddiursa.

Here’s what Pokémon GO’s official posts say is also happening tonight, all in local time:

  • Halloween 2026 Part II ends at 8:00 p.m. You also have until 8:00 p.m. to finish and claim its Timed Research, according to the official Halloween Part II post.
  • GO Pass: Halloween 2026 stops counting GO Points at 8:00 p.m. tonight. You can still claim rewards you’ve unlocked until Saturday, November 7 at 8:00 p.m.
  • Festival of Lights starts tomorrow, Friday, November 6 at 10:00 a.m., and runs to Sunday, November 8 at 8:00 p.m., according to the Festival of Lights post.

Our Halloween 2026 Part 2 guide covers the event’s last raids and research.

Can witch-hat Teddiursa be shiny?

Yes. On Niantic’s November graphic, the Teddiursa and Noibat icons both have the shiny sparkle, and Leek Duck’s November 5 event page also marks Teddiursa wearing a witch hat as shiny-capable. The community-run Pokémon GO Wiki says the shiny costume first appeared on October 21, 2025, in GO Pass: Halloween 2025. Pokémon GO doesn’t publish shiny odds for Spotlight Hours, so we don’t give a number.

Does costume Teddiursa keep its witch hat when it evolves?

According to the Pokémon GO Wiki, it does. The witch-hat form keeps its costume when it evolves, and Teddiursa needs 50 Candy to evolve into Ursaring. That gives you a witch-hat Ursaring, which the wiki lists in both normal and shiny colours. The wiki also says the next step, Ursaluna, costs 100 Candy and only works at night during the in-game full moon, so don’t count on finishing the line tonight.

How to get the most from 2× Evolution XP

  1. Save your evolutions for 6:00 p.m. The bonus only counts during the hour. Line up Pokémon you already have enough Candy for, cheap ones first.
  2. Use a Lucky Egg once you’ve lined them up. A Lucky Egg doubles XP for 30 minutes. The Pokémon GO Wiki says it stacks with event double XP, which makes four times the normal XP for each evolution.
  3. Use cheap Candy evolutions. Pidgey needs only 12 Candy, and every evolution gives one Candy back. Per the wiki, 23 Pidgey Candy is enough for two Pidgey evolutions.
  4. Catch Teddiursa between evolutions. Catches give Candy toward the 50 you need for a witch-hat Ursaring, and every encounter is a shiny check.
  5. Finish Halloween tasks first. Part II’s Timed Research and GO Pass points end at 8:00 p.m., an hour after the Spotlight Hour.

Spotlight Hour time tonight in UTC (6 p.m. local wave)

Spotlight Hour runs at 6:00 p.m. wherever you play, so it moves around the world one time zone at a time. The UK and Ireland went back to GMT on October 25 and the US left daylight saving time on November 1, so these UTC times apply to all three November dates. The status column shows where things stood at our 16:10 UTC check.

Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour November 2026: every date

Date (6-7 p.m. local) Featured Pokémon Bonus Shiny? Official source
Thu Nov 5 Teddiursa wearing a witch hat 2× Evolution XP Yes November content update (@PokemonGoApp, Oct 19)
Thu Nov 12 Not announced Not announced – None listed (checked Nov 5, 16:10 UTC)
Thu Nov 19 Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble 2× Catch Candy Yes Dynamax Trails post (Oct 28)
Thu Nov 26 Noibat 2× Catch Candy Yes November content update (@PokemonGoApp, Oct 19)

Leek Duck’s event pages for November 5, November 19 and November 26 list the same Pokémon and bonuses (checked November 5, 2026). Leek Duck has no November 12 page.

Is there a Spotlight Hour on November 12?

None has been announced. November 12 falls during Into the Wild (November 9-13), and both the Into the Wild post and the GO Wild Area: Global page say Daily Discoveries are paused from November 9 to November 15. Pokémon GO’s June 10 post files Spotlight Hour under “GO Battle Thursdays and Spotlight Hour”, one of the Daily Discoveries. Our reading is that this pause probably explains the gap. We’ll update this page if a November 12 hour is announced.

November 19: Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble

The official Dynamax Trails post lists a Spotlight Hour on “Thursday, November 19, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time” with Grookey, Scorbunny and Sobble and a 2× Catch Candy bonus. It also says, “If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!” This post came out after the October graphic, which is why the graphic shows only two November Spotlight Hours. Dynamax Trails runs from November 16 at 10:00 a.m. to November 23 at 8:00 p.m. local, and Eternatus returns on Saturday, November 21, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

November 26: Noibat

Noibat closes the month with 2× Catch Candy. It falls during Twilight Wishes, which the official Twilight Wishes post dates November 24 at 10:00 a.m. to November 30 at 8:00 p.m. local. You can start on Noibat Candy early: the Into the Wild post lists Noibat among its wild spawns from November 9 to 13, with the shiny asterisk.

October 2026 Spotlight Hours (for reference)

Pokémon GO brought weekly Spotlight Hours back on Thursdays from June 18, 2026. They had been retired for the Memories in Motion season, according to the Pokémon GO Wiki, and the official June 10 post confirms the return. October’s lineup, from the wiki:

Date Featured Pokémon Bonus

Thu Oct 8 Elgyem 2× Catch Candy
Thu Oct 15 Stufful 2× Transfer Candy
Thu Oct 22 Morelull 2× Catch Stardust
Thu Oct 29 Gastly 2× Evolution XP
