Colorful seaside town being rebuilt after a storm, with scaffolding on cottages, a harbor of fishing boats and a lighthouse

12 games like Travel Town, from Merge County and Merge Mayor to Moon Active’s own Merge Adventure, with ads, loot boxes, prices and PC checked Nov 5, 2026.

The closest games like Travel Town are Merge County, Merge Mayor and Merge Adventure: Travel Games, which comes from Moon Active, Travel Town’s own publisher. In all three you merge items on a board to earn what you need to rebuild a run-down town, city or island. If the story is what keeps you playing, try Love & Pies or Gossip Harbor. If you’d rather match three or five items at a time, try EverMerge or Merge Fables.

Every price, ad label, loot-box label, platform and developer name below comes from the US App Store and Google Play listings, read on November 5, 2026 (00:50-01:00 UTC). The “best for” labels are ours. Nine of the 12 are not in our best merge games list.

Quick answer: the best games like Travel Town

  • Closest overall: Merge County (Microfun). You return to your childhood hometown and rebuild it, and the App Store subtitle calls it the “first town-themed merge game”.
  • Same publisher: Merge Adventure: Travel Games (Moon Active). You restore a tourist city across an island chain.
  • Most city building: Merge Mayor (Starberry Games). You go from a small town to a “thriving metropolis”.
  • Best story: Love & Pies (Trailmix) and Gossip Harbor (Microfun), both small-town mysteries.
  • Merge 3 instead of merge 2: EverMerge, Merge Fables and Fable Town.
  • No loot-box label on either store: Merge Cruise is the only one of the 12.
  • Playable on a Windows PC: 8 of the 12 are on Google Play Games for Windows, just like Travel Town.

Merge games like Travel Town with a town or island to rebuild

1. Merge County: best overall Travel Town alternative

Merge County’s App Store listing sends you back to your childhood home, Newburyton, to “re-build it from the ground up”. You merge materials, finish townsfolk tasks and unlock new districts, from a hospital to a fire station in the iPad screenshots. It’s made by Microfun (Gossip Harbor) and has 5M+ downloads on Google Play. Note the 3.5 GB App Store download, more than ten times Travel Town’s 322 MB.

2. Merge Adventure: Travel Games, from Travel Town’s publisher

Moon Active’s App Store listing follows Elsa, who leaves her hotel renovation project to answer her uncle’s call to “a mesmerizing archipelago”. There you “restore the tourist city to its former glory” among jungles and abandoned temples. The App Store lists ads, but its Google Play listing carries no “Contains ads” label. Still playing Travel Town too? Our Travel Town free energy links page lists the current official links.

3. Merge Mayor: best for city building

Starberry Games’ Merge Mayor makes you the new mayor of a small town. You “solve Merge 2 puzzles” (the same merge-two-of-a-kind rule as Travel Town) to repair homes, unlock areas and grow the town “into a thriving metropolis”. It lists “multiple game modes” and mini games in events, and it has the steepest price range: up to $244.99 per item on Google Play. The App Store also lists “Messaging and Chat”. It’s one of four picks with no Windows or Mac version listed.

4. Road Trip: Merge Family Games: best for exploring

Vizor Apps’ Road Trip (on Google Play as “Road Trip: Royal merge games”) follows Alex, an aspiring designer, on “expeditions to islands, locations, and caves”. It lists 30+ locations, from snowy forests and tropical islands to towns with 1980s architecture and interiors. Pick it if you like moving on to new places more than decorating one street.

5. Merge Cruise: Mystery Puzzle: best without loot boxes

In PeerPlay’s Merge Cruise you merge items for cash and spend it to “clean, fix, build, and decorate” a run-down cruise ship as it sails between exotic islands. It’s the only game here with no loot-box label on the App Store and no random-items label on Google Play. Both stores rate it 4+ / Everyone.

Story-first games like Travel Town

6. Gossip Harbor: best for drama

Microfun’s Gossip Harbor sets its merge board in a restaurant on Brimwave Island. You cook dishes while Quinn Castillo’s life falls apart (“Divorce, sabotage and secrets”). It has the most downloads of any game here, 100M+ on Google Play, and it leads our best merge games ranking. If you run out of energy fast, our Gossip Harbor energy guide covers the refill timer.

7. Love & Pies: best small-town mystery

Trailmix’s Love & Pies starts with someone burning down a family cafe in the town of Appleton, and “everyone’s a suspect”. You merge cakes and pies to serve customers while renovating the cafe and garden. It’s rated 13+ on the App Store (for infrequent crude humor, suggestive themes, medical topics and sexual content) and Teen on Google Play, where it shows no ads label. It’s not on PC or Mac.

8. Merge Mansion: best for a mystery to solve

Metacore’s Merge Mansion calls itself “the original merge puzzle game”. You restore a forgotten mansion and its garden room by room while you work out what Grandma is hiding. It’s a house instead of a town, but the task-and-unlock loop is the same. For energy, see our Merge Mansion free energy guide.

9. Tasty Travels: best for the “travel” half

Century Games’ Tasty Travels swaps the town for a world tour. You merge ingredients into regional dishes as you travel the world. It’s #16 in Apple’s US top-grossing games chart (Apple RSS, Nov 5) and on Windows through Google Play Games. Our Tasty Travels free energy guide covers its refill time and the official free-energy sources.

Merge 3 games like Travel Town

Travel Town merges two items at a time. These three are built on bigger merges: three of a kind for an upgrade, or five for a bonus.

10. EverMerge: best open-world merge game

JetSynthesys’ EverMerge (on Google Play as “EverMerge: Fantasy Merge Games”) asks you to “lift the cursed fog” and turn a wilderness into a kingdom. You “combine three of a kind for a boost, or wait until you have five for a massive bonus”. Fairy-tale characters such as Cinderella and Peter Pan appear “with a cheeky, modern twist”. It’s rated 4+ / Everyone, and it’s on phones and tablets only.

11. Merge Fables: best island builder

Microfun’s Merge Fables is “an island full of stories”. You merge to meet fairy-tale characters and “build the castles of your dreams”. Like EverMerge, you choose between merging 3 now or waiting for 5 for the bonus. Out of resources, you mine stones and trees, and you clear mist to get more space.

12. Fable Town: best magic theme

In Reef Games’ Fable Town, Merlin’s granddaughter Ginny comes home to a town covered by an enchanted fog. You “combine 3+ identical objects”, grow plants to trade for magic wands and use the wands to restore buildings. Dragons and unicorns join your collection along the way. Its App Store rating is the highest on this list: 4.9 from 13K ratings. On Google Play the cheapest item is $0.09, and the page shows no ads label.

Games like Travel Town on PC

“Travel Town game for PC” is one of Bing’s top suggestions for this search. Travel Town’s Google Play page lists Windows through Google Play Games, and the App Store lists Macs with Apple silicon. Of the 12 picks, Merge County, Merge Adventure, Road Trip, Merge Cruise, Gossip Harbor, Merge Fables and Fable Town are on both Windows and Mac, and Tasty Travels is on Windows only. Merge Mayor, Love & Pies, Merge Mansion and EverMerge are phone and tablet games, though Merge Mayor also runs on Apple Vision Pro.

What we left out

  • Family Farm Merge (Century Games, #98 in Apple’s US top free games): its App Store listing carries an “Infrequent/Mild Simulated Gambling” note.
  • Mystery Town, Hotel Legacy, Merge Cooking, Flambé, Seaside Escape, Hollywood Merge, Foodstars and Merge Dragons! are already in our best merge games list, so we used the space for new picks.
  • We didn’t include any app that pays cash prizes.
