Epic Games Store free games this week and next
According to Epic’s own store promotion data (checked October 28, 22:00 UTC), two horror games are free right now. Sker Ritual is a round-based co-op survival shooter for solo play or up to four players, and a spin-off of Maid of Sker. Home is a pixel-art murder mystery where your choices decide what happened. Both leave on Thursday at 15:00 UTC.
Next up is Sorry We’re Closed, a fixed-camera survival horror game with first-person shooting, from à la mode games and Akupara Games. It’s worth your time if you like early Resident Evil and Silent Hill but want more colour and humour. It’s currently 30% off ($17.49) on Epic, so don’t buy it before Thursday. What time do Epic free games change?
Epic swaps its free games every Thursday at 11 am US Eastern. The US clocks change on November 1, so the end time moves by an hour in UTC.

PS Plus free games for November
Sony has announced November’s PS Plus monthly games for every tier, including Essential. They can be added from Tuesday, November 3 to Monday, November 30, according to the PlayStation Blog. Our PS Plus November 2026 games guide has the lineup, platforms and how to claim them. Until then, October’s three games stay claimable through Monday, November 2. Sony gives no hour for either date. If you play the Extra or Premium catalogue, check the games leaving PS Plus in November before the next refresh.
Prime Gaming free games (now on Amazon Luna)
Prime Gaming’s free PC games are now claimed through Amazon Luna, at luna.amazon.com/claims. Amazon’s October 2026 Luna update (posted October 6) lists 10 PC games for Prime members, in pairs each Thursday. The last pair arrives on October 29.

Amazon’s post gives start dates only. Each game’s claim deadline is shown on its Luna claim card, so check there before you count on an older one. Amazon hasn’t announced November’s games yet. They’ll go on this page when it does.

Trash Goblin (Spilt Milk Studios) is the cosy pick: you chip trinkets out of junk, clean them up and sell them in your shop, with no timers or pressure, according to its Steam page. Kiborg (Sobaka Studio) is the opposite: a brutal roguelite beat ’em up set in a space prison, where you add cybernetic implants each run.

Steam free weekends and free-to-keep games
As of October 28, 22:00 UTC, no Steam free weekend has been announced for October 29 to November 1. Publishers set these themselves. October’s free weekends, including the one that ended October 26, started on Thursdays, so check back on Thursday.
The one free-to-keep item on Steam right now is a DLC. Popcorn & Premieren – Ausgehviertel adds an entertainment district to the cinema management game Popcorn & Premieren. The developer says it’s free to keep until October 29 at 10 am Pacific (17:00 UTC), then $4.99. You need the base game, which isn’t free.
Xbox Free Play Days this weekend
Microsoft hasn’t posted this weekend’s Free Play Days yet. Xbox Wire posted the last three lineups on Thursdays at 15:00 UTC (October 8, 15 and 22), so the next one is likely on October 29. The October 22 lineup ended on October 25 for Game Pass games and October 26 for Riders Republic. Our guide to the October 22 Free Play Days explains how the event works.
