The first Fortnite map fragment of Treasure Hunters is on A$AP Rocky’s battleship, The $.$. Rocky, on the east side of Crossbones Isle. Go down to the lowest deck, head for the pointed front end of the ship and pick up the glowing white piece on the floor. Epic says a new fragment arrives each Captain’s Day, so you collect them one week at a time, and the next Captain’s Day is Saturday, November 7.
Checked November 2, 2026, 14:15 UTC. Below: the exact spot, what the fragments unlock, the Captain’s Day dates, and how the other treasure maps (Sprite Treasure Maps from Wanted Posters) work, since Fortnite now has two kinds.
Table of Contents
Quick answer
- Fragment 1: The $.$. Rocky, lowest deck, near the bow (the pointed end). A white diamond marker with an exclamation point shows it once you get close.
- Quest: “Collect a Map Fragment at The $.$. Rocky”, worth 10,000 XP, in the Treasure Hunt quests (per Beebom and TheClick).
- Reward for the full set: the X Marks the Zero Point Sliver loading screen, according to TheClick. Epic hasn’t described the reward in its own notes.
- How many: not stated by Epic. TheClick counts six, Destructoid says seven. Only one is live right now.
- Next fragment: expected on the next Captain’s Day, November 7 (Lil Uzi Vert week).
- Not the same as Sprite Treasure Maps: those come from tearing down Wanted Posters and lead to buried Sprite Chests.

What Epic says about map fragments
Epic’s v43.00 Treasure Hunters notes mention the fragments in one short paragraph under Captain’s Day. While you explore, “you might also turn up a mysterious Map Fragment”. Epic doesn’t say where it leads. It only hints that “a sharp-eyed sailor might notice it’s just one piece of something bigger”, then tells players to “keep checking back each Captain’s Day – there’s a new one every week.”
Epic’s in-game news tile for the season, “Keep Tabs on the Adventure!”, points players to the Treasure tab in the lobby: “All great adventures begin with a treasure map! Head to the Treasure Tab to follow along with weekly progress and chart your next move.” The tile’s artwork shows a map torn into six pieces, which fits TheClick’s count of six. Epic hasn’t confirmed that number in writing, though.
Fortnite map fragment location: The $.$. Rocky (fragment 1)
All three player-tested guides we checked put the first fragment in the same area. They describe it from slightly different angles:
- Game Rant: on the lower deck’s bow.
- TheClick: on the lowest floor, at the pointed end of the hull, lying on the floor. It is not in a chest and not a boss drop.
- Destructoid: in a room on the lower levels near the ship’s southern end, beside a crate.
How to collect it, step by step
- Drop at The $.$. Rocky, the big grey ship docked on the east side of the island (Destructoid places it near the middle of the eastern edge).
- Get inside the ship and work your way down to the bottom deck.
- Look for the white diamond icon with an exclamation point. If it seems to point through the floor, you’re on a deck that’s too high.
- Head toward the pointed front end of the ship.
- Walk up to the glowing piece and hold the interact button on the “Gather the map fragment” prompt (wording per Destructoid).
Can’t find the stairs? Both Destructoid and TheClick suggest breaking through: Destructoid breaks the floor under you, while TheClick breaks into the lower section through the hull from outside.
Expect company. A$AP Rocky is the island’s first Boss on this ship. Epic’s notes say defeating him can drop his Shock Rocket and the new Lil’ Flacko Sprite, so players fight over the deck early in matches. Grab the fragment first if you only need the quest. Picking up the fragment and beating the boss are separate tasks.

What do Fortnite map fragments unlock?
| Reward | What you get | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Fragment 1 quest | 10,000 XP | Beebom, TheClick (Treasure Hunt quest list) |
| Full fragment set | X Marks the Zero Point Sliver loading screen | TheClick |
| Where it all leads | Not revealed. Epic only says the fragment is “one piece of something bigger” | Epic v43.00 notes |
TheClick says the full-set reward is the loading screen, not the Captain X Outfit. Captain X is a Battle Pass quest track: Beebom lists it at 24 completed Weekly Quests, with smaller rewards at 4, 8, 12 and 14. We won’t guess what the finished map points to. Epic is clearly holding that back, and any “it leads to X” claims you see before the final fragment are speculation or leaks.
When do new map fragments come out? (Captain’s Day dates)
Epic says a new fragment comes “each Captain’s Day”. These are the dates Epic has announced. Epic gave a start time only for the first one, November 1 at 9 AM ET (14:00 UTC).
| Date | What Epic says arrives | Fragment |
|---|---|---|
| Sun, Nov 1 | Season launch: A$AP Rocky and The $.$. Rocky as the first Boss | Fragment 1 (live) |
| Sat, Nov 7 | Week 2: Lil Uzi Vert and Cuddle Team Leader take a fort; Buggy and the Megalodon arrive | Expected |
| Thu, Nov 12 | Captain’s Day listed on fortnite.com; Gold Sprite variant arrives (v43.00 notes) | Not confirmed |
| Sat, Nov 14 | Week 3: Hatsune Miku and Kasane Teto take over the resort | Expected |
| Sat, Nov 21 | Week 4: Oscar sails in with his own ship (Frenzy Auto Shotgun) | Expected |
Chapter 7 ends with a live event on Saturday, December 5, per Epic’s season page. That gives you several weeks to catch up if you miss a Captain’s Day. Epic hasn’t said whether earlier fragments stay collectible after the next one arrives, so grab each one in its own week if you can. We’ll add each new location to this page as it goes live. For the whole season at a glance, see our Fortnite Treasure Hunters season guide.
Fortnite map fragment not working or not showing?
- Wrong deck: the marker can show while you stand on an upper deck right above the fragment. Keep going down (TheClick).
- Wrong mode: play Treasure Hunters Battle Royale or Zero Build on Crossbones Isle, not OG, Reload or a creator island.
- Already collected: check the Treasure Hunt section of the Quests tab, or the Treasure tab. A collected piece doesn’t need collecting again.
- Looking in chests: the fragment is a floor pickup. Opening chests or looting A$AP Rocky won’t give it to you.
The other treasure maps: Wanted Posters and Sprite Treasure Maps
A lot of “Fortnite treasure map locations” searches this week are about a different item. Epic’s notes describe it plainly: spot a Wanted Poster on a wall and tear it down, and “it turns into a Sprite Treasure Map that leads you to a buried Sprite Chest.” Posters aren’t fixed to one spot. Any Wanted Poster works, so check building walls in towns such as Windmill Village and Loguetown, then follow the map marker, dig the chest up and open it (TheClick).
| Item | Where it comes from | Where it leads |
|---|---|---|
| Captain’s Map Fragment | Fixed spot each Captain’s Day (fragment 1: The $.$. Rocky) | A hidden season-long collection |
| Sprite Treasure Map | Tearing down a Wanted Poster (Exmarks at max level also spawns a Treasure Map) | A buried Sprite Chest |
Sprites that help you find treasure maps
- Exmarks: “Reveals nearby Treasure Maps and Wanted Posters. Spawns a Treasure Map at max level.” (Epic)
- Wayfinder: reveals nearby Sprites and spawns extra loot from Buried Chests (Epic).
- Fortune Sprite variant: reveals nearby Chests (Epic).
Our Fortnite Sprites list and checklist covers how Sprites work. For leveling them faster, see the Sprite Dust guide.

Best time to hunt: Mastery Monday (today)
Mastery Monday runs every Monday from 9 AM ET (14:00 UTC). Epic says Sprite Chests and Wanted Posters “appear across the Island in bigger numbers” on those days, and Sprite XP and Sprite Dust are doubled “all day long”. Today, November 2, is one of them. That makes it the best day to clear the poster quests:
| Quest | Goal | XP |
|---|---|---|
| Use Sprite Wanted Posters to dig up and open Sprite Chests (Kickstart) | 3 | 20,000 |
| Open Sprite Chests (Treasure Hunt) | 2 | Not listed |
| Open Treasure Chests (Treasure Hunt) | 25 | Not listed |
| Open Rare Chests (Treasure Hunt) | 2 | Not listed |
Quest names and goals are from Beebom’s and TheClick’s quest lists. Progress carries across matches. Epic also says chests now refill over time this season, so a looted area is worth a second pass later. Opening chests is also how players find the rare Pirate Shop Access prize. Our Fortnite quests this week page tracks the weekly batches.
FAQ
Where is the map fragment on The $.$. Rocky?
It’s on the ship’s lowest deck, toward the pointed front end (the bow), lying on the floor. Game Rant, TheClick and Destructoid all place it on the lower levels. Destructoid adds that it sits next to a crate in a room.
How many map fragments are there in Fortnite Treasure Hunters?
Epic hasn’t said. TheClick reports six and Destructoid seven. Epic’s Treasure tab artwork shows a map in six pieces. Only one can be collected as of November 2.
What do you get for collecting all the map fragments?
TheClick reports the X Marks the Zero Point Sliver loading screen. The first fragment alone gives 10,000 XP. Where the finished map leads is still Epic’s secret.
When is the next map fragment?
Epic says a new one arrives each Captain’s Day. The next Captain’s Day is Saturday, November 7. Epic hasn’t posted a time for it; the first one started at 9 AM ET.
Is a Sprite Treasure Map the same as a map fragment?
No. Sprite Treasure Maps come from Wanted Posters and lead to buried Sprite Chests. Opening those chests doesn’t count toward the map fragment quest.
