Fortnite quests end when matchmaking stops at 04:30 UTC Nov 1 before the v43.00 downtime. Weekly quest list, 5 free Sprite quests and a fast XP route.

Fortnite quests this week are the last ones of the Override season. Epic’s status page says the v43.00 downtime starts on Sunday, November 1, at 05:00 UTC (1 AM ET), with matchmaking turned off 30 minutes earlier. That makes 04:30 UTC your real deadline for weekly quests, the Spritemare quests and the last Fortnitemares quests. Below you’ll find the weekly quests two or more guides agree on, the free Sprite quests, today’s login reward and a route that stacks quests for fast XP.

Checked October 31, 2026, 02:30 UTC, against Epic’s status page, Epic’s Final Spritemare post and dated guides from Beebom, Dexerto, Game Rant and TechWiser.

Quick answer: Fortnite quests this week

  • Deadline: matchmaking stops at 04:30 UTC on November 1 (12:30 AM ET, 9:30 PM PT on October 31). The downtime runs 05:00-08:00 UTC, according to Epic’s status page.
  • Weekly quests: 20,000 XP each. Beebom and Dexerto say a new batch arrives every Thursday at 9 AM ET. Weeks 1-8 are listed below.
  • Spritemare quests (from October 26): five quests that give free Sprites, including the Crown Sprite for searching 3 Pumpkin Chests.
  • Today (October 31): Epic’s “Finale” starts at 9 AM ET (13:00 UTC). It brings more Pumpkin Chests, the Marker Bonerattler SMG, and a daily login quest that gives a Lucky Locator.
  • Fortnitemares: the Nitemare quests (15,000 XP each, free Jack-A-Nape outfit) are in our Fortnitemares 2026 quest guide.
  • Unfinished quests: Epic hasn’t said what happens to them. Treat 04:30 UTC as the cutoff.

When do Fortnite quests end? The November 1 downtime

On October 30 at 22:04 UTC, Epic posted “Fortnite: Downtime for v43.00 Update” on its status page. Its notice reads: “Scheduled downtime for v43.00 begins at 1 AM ET (5 AM UTC). Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes prior.” The listing runs from 05:00 to 08:00 UTC. Epic’s Battle Pass page agrees on the date: the Override pass “Ends November 1, 2026 Eastern Time.” The next season is Treasure Hunters. Our Fortnite server status page covers the downtime as it happens.

US clocks go back during the downtime. That’s why the end time below is in EST, while the start is in EDT.

Fortnite quests today: the Final Spritemare (October 31)

Epic’s Final Spritemare post covers October 27-31. Every day from 9 AM ET (13:00 UTC), it gives 2x Sprite XP and 2x Sprite Dust. You can also “complete the daily login Quest to earn a Lucky Locator”, and Chests may drop 1-Up Tokens and Portable Extractors. Epic lists these Finale changes for Saturday, October 31:

  • Hunter Scavenger, Spooky Sprinter and Prop Hunt are guaranteed in Override Consoles.
  • The Marker Bonerattler SMG joins the loot pool.
  • More Pumpkin Chests appear across the Island.

Lucky Locators mark a buried chest with a Sprite you haven’t found yet. Log in after 13:00 UTC to get today’s. Game Rant also says all Sprite variants get boosted drop rates today. Our Fortnite Sprites list tracks the whole collection, and the Sprite Dust guide covers how to earn and spend dust before the season ends.

Spritemare quests: 5 free Sprites

Epic’s post doesn’t list these quests. Game Rant and TechWiser (both October 26) list the same five, live from October 26:

Quest Reward Fastest way
Search Pumpkin Chests (3) Crown Sprite Do it today. Epic is adding more Pumpkin Chests for the Finale.
Enter Trick or Treat Cheat Codes (15) Gold Spooky Dash Sprite Enter every Cheat Code you pass, every match
Eliminate players (30) Spooky Dash Sprite Any mode that counts; pairs well with the weekly elimination quests
Extract Sprites (20) Klombo Sprite Use the Portable Extractors that Chests can drop this week
Extract Sprites (30) Trick or Treat Klombo Sprite Same extractions count; keep going after 20

A single Pumpkin Chest can also finish the Fortnitemares quest “Smash a Pumpkin Chest to find a Sprite”, if you haven’t done it yet.

Fortnite weekly quests list (Override, Weeks 1-8)

Each weekly quest gives 20,000 XP. Beebom (updated October 22) and Dexerto list Weeks 1-7 with the same wording and numbers. The Fortnite Wiki’s This Week Quests page agrees, and adds Week 8. AltChar and the wiki both say this season’s weekly quests stay available until the season ends. You’ll find them in the Quests tab, under “This Week”.

Week 8’s fifth quest: Beebom lists “Destroy objects (50)”. The wiki lists “Travel distance while sliding (150)” and marks “Destroy objects” as disabled. Go by what your Quests tab shows.

Weeks 9 and 10: Beebom’s October 22 update also lists Week 9 and Week 10 batches. By 02:30 UTC we hadn’t found a second written guide that confirms them, so they’re not in our table. Open “This Week” in game to see them. No guide we checked lists a Week 11 batch for October 29. The season’s last week went to the Spritemare event instead.

Fastest XP before the season ends: stack quests by location

Many weekly quests share places and weapon types. One match can move several quests forward at once. Here’s a route through the list above; check your quest tracker after the first match.

Route 1: Heatwave Harbor (up to 3 quests)

  • Land at Heatwave Harbor and search containers: this works for both “Heatwave Harbor or Wonkeeland (10)” (Week 2) and “Heatwave Harbor or Golden Grove (15)” (Week 5).
  • Your landing there also counts as one of the three visits in Week 4. Cluster Coast and Chopped Shop are the other two, so pick them up later in the match or in your next one.

Route 2: Reality’s Reign and Green Hill Zone (up to 3 quests)

  • Land at Reality’s Reign and search 15 containers for Week 3. That landing counts once for Week 1’s “Land at Green Hill Zone and Reality’s Reign (2)”.
  • In your next match, land at Green Hill Zone to finish the landing quest, then use its Dash Panels for Week 6’s 1,000 meters.

Route 3: Freaky Fields (2 quests)

  • Landing at Freaky Fields completes Week 7’s landing quest. Then search 10 containers there for Week 8.

Quests that progress in any match

  • Weapon rarity: damage with an Epic weapon counts for “Epic or better (1,000)” (Week 1) and “Rare or better (500)” (Week 6). If you aim down sights, it also counts for Week 4’s 500.
  • Overrides: keep one active to move “Travel distance under an Override” (Week 1) and “Eliminate under an Override” (Week 6). Epic guarantees Hunter Scavenger, Spooky Sprinter and Prop Hunt in Override Consoles today.
  • Sprites: carry a Sprite for Week 4’s eliminations. Extract two in one match for Week 8, and those extractions also count for the Spritemare 20/30 quests.
  • Passive: “Survive Storm Phases (15)” fills up just from playing longer matches.

Want more XP outside Battle Royale? Our list of legit Fortnite XP map codes sticks to islands that follow Epic’s creator rules. It leaves out AFK and glitch maps, because Epic’s rules ban exploit islands.

Other quests still open

  • Fortnitemares (Nitemare) quests: 26 in total, across Battle Royale/Zero Build, Horde Rush and Reload, with the last batch added on October 23 according to Beebom. The full list and the Jack-A-Nape reward ladder are in our Fortnitemares guide.
  • Story quests: Geno, Bastian (Weird Magic) and Ziggy’s Wrixel questline, listed by Dexerto.
  • Override intro quests: four quests worth 10,000 XP each (enter a Cheat Code, extract a Sprite, buy a Loot Hack, equip a Sprite), per Beebom and Dexerto.

What comes after: Treasure Hunters and the November shop

New quests arrive with v43.00 after the downtime. Epic hasn’t posted the new season’s quest list yet. For the rest of the season’s changeover, see our Fortnite Item Shop today page (updated every day), the Fortnite Crew November pack, and the Fortnite redeem codes that still work.

FAQ

What time do Fortnite weekly quests come out?

Thursdays at 9 AM ET (13:00 UTC while US daylight saving time is on), according to Beebom, Dexerto and AltChar. The next quests come with v43.00, after the November 1 downtime.

What happens to unfinished quests when the season ends?

Epic hasn’t said for this season. Its Battle Pass page only says the pass “Ends November 1, 2026 Eastern Time”. Finish anything you care about before matchmaking turns off at 04:30 UTC on November 1.

Why are my Fortnite quests not showing?

Weekly quests are in the Quests tab under “This Week”. Fortnitemares quests count in Battle Royale, Zero Build, Horde Rush and Reload, but Technerdiness says only the Horde Rush island tagged “By Epic” tracks them. The Safety in Numbers quests only count in the Fortnitemares horror islands while you’re in a party.

How much XP is a weekly quest worth?

20,000 XP each. That makes the five quests in a batch worth 100,000 XP.
