Switch Sports Resort, Final Fantasy Resonance, Peak and Cult of the Lamb hit Switch 2 on Oct 22, then ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet. Prices, sizes, upgrade paths.

Updated October 22, 2026: Nintendo Switch Sports Resort is out now, with a day-one update that switches on online play (details below). ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet’s US eShop price is live at $19.99. Peak still has no US eShop listing ahead of its 15:00 UTC unlock, and Cult of the Lamb’s Switch 2 version isn’t listed yet either, though Massive Monster’s official free-upgrade promise stands. All checked October 22 at 12:45 UTC.

The biggest new Switch 2 games this week are Nintendo Switch Sports Resort and Final Fantasy Resonance, both out on Thursday, October 22, alongside the console debuts of Peak and Cult of the Lamb the same day. Kairosoft’s ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet and Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest follow on October 23. Switch Sports Resort is already No. 1 on the Switch 2 eShop chart from pre-loads alone, according to Nintendo Everything’s October 18 chart roundup.

This list is for people who own a Switch 2. For each game we checked the US Nintendo eShop for the price, the estimated download size and whether a Switch 1 copy carries over. Our roundup of new games next week on every platform covers PS5, Xbox and PC.

The two big Thursday launches

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort brings 12 motion-control sports back to Wuhu Island, including the new Thumb Wrestling and Skateboarding. It’s out now, $49.99 digital and $59.99 for the physical edition, and Switch 2 is the only platform. The US store page now lists 10.3 GB, down from its earlier 16 GB estimate. Download the day-one update too: Switch Sports Resort Ver. 1.1.0 switches on the ranked Pro League, Casual Online and Friend Lobbies for up to eight players, and Nintendo says you need it to play anything online. It’s worth your time if you have family or friends who will play on the couch.

Final Fantasy Resonance is Square Enix’s HD-2D take on the series. It’s sold on Switch 2 and on Switch 1 as two separate products at the same price, and the Switch 2 listing is the bigger download at 12.7 GB. The only upgrade listed is a $14.99 Digital Deluxe Upgrade that adds deluxe content. If you play on Switch 2, buy the Switch 2 version. A free demo is up on the eShop, so you can try it first. It’s for anyone who misses turn-based Final Fantasy, and it’s the week’s big new RPG on Switch 2.

Indie and cozy picks

  • Peak arrives on Switch 2 at 8 AM PT (15:00 UTC) on October 22 with crossplay, per Team PEAK’s Steam announcement. As of 12:45 UTC on launch day there’s still no Peak listing on the US eShop, and Team PEAK hasn’t announced a console price. Altchar reports $6.99 for the digital console versions, but no store or studio post confirms it yet (it’s $7.99 on Steam). It’s worth your time if you have three friends for co-op climbing chaos.
  • Cult of the Lamb gets a Switch 2 version on October 22. The free upgrade is official: Massive Monster’s October 16 post on the game’s official X account says Switch 1 owners “can upgrade for FREE” and new players pay the same as the Switch 1 version, which lists at $24.99. As of 12:45 UTC on launch day, the Switch 2 version isn’t on the US or UK eShop yet, and the studio hasn’t shared a release time, Switch 2 improvements or whether DLC carries over. One tip: the Switch version is $9.99 in Nintendo’s Screaming Deals sale until November 1 at 06:59 UTC, so buying it now should also cover the Switch 2 version through that free upgrade.
  • holoVillage: Our Cozy Days (October 21, $24.99) is a farming, fishing, crafting and housing life sim with dungeons and bosses, per its store page. Its add-ons are hololive outfit sets, so it’s aimed at fans of the VTuber agency.

ONE PIECE: Grand Gourmet: pick the right version

This restaurant sim from Kairosoft, the Game Dev Story studio, is the week’s easiest purchase to get wrong. Bandai Namco’s official Japanese site says the Switch 2 version runs at up to 4K on a TV and 1080p in handheld mode, while the Switch 1 version tops out at 1080p and 720p. Both versions are capped at 30 fps. The site also says there’s no upgrade path from the Switch version to the Switch 2 version. The Switch game will still run on Switch 2 through backward compatibility, but you’d miss the higher resolution. It’s on the US eShop for October 23 (October 22 in Japan), and both the Switch and Switch 2 versions are $19.99 there, the same as on Steam. Since the price is the same, Switch 2 owners should buy the Switch 2 version. Fans of Kairosoft’s management games, see our list of upcoming cozy games through winter.

What’s next

Peak’s US eShop price should appear when the console versions unlock at 15:00 UTC on October 22. Cult of the Lamb still hasn’t confirmed a release time or its Switch 2 improvements, and its Switch 2 eShop page should show the upgrade steps once it goes live. The next big Nintendo release is The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time on November 5. Until then, see our best cozy games on Switch 2 for more calm picks.
