GTA 6 pre-orders explained: Standard $79.99 vs Ultimate $99.99, the pre-order bonus deadline, the free GTA+ month, and why the physical box has no disc.

GTA 6 pre-orders are open on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S ahead of the November 19, 2026 launch. There are two editions: Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99 in the US. Rockstar has also confirmed that the physical version is a code in a box, with no disc inside. Here is what each edition includes, when the pre-order bonuses run out and which one makes sense for you.

GTA 6 editions and prices

We checked these prices on the PlayStation Store (US, UK, Germany, Canada and Australia) and the Xbox Store (US) on October 16, 2026.

Region Standard Edition Ultimate Edition
United States $79.99 $99.99
United Kingdom £69.99 £89.99
Germany (euro) €79.99 €99.99
Canada CA$109.99 CA$139.99
Australia AU$129.95 AU$159.95

There is no collector’s or deluxe tier beyond these two. Already bought the Standard Edition? The Xbox Store sells the Ultimate Edition Upgrade on its own for $20. Rockstar says PlayStation players can upgrade on the PlayStation Store “at any time”, but the upgrade listing there couldn’t be bought yet when we checked.

What the Ultimate Edition adds

According to Rockstar’s GTA 6 site, the Ultimate Edition content is “threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story”, with new items unlocking chapter by chapter. Highlights from Rockstar’s edition comparison:

  • Vehicles: a ’95 Grotti Cheetah, a ’67 Vapid Dominator Buggy, a Shitzu Squalo boat, Jason’s safehouse vehicles, a Ganado retro build and a Classic Car Collection.
  • Weapons: the Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers plus personalized weapon variants.
  • Exclusive shops: Rideout Customs and One-Eyed Willie’s mod shops, Sara’s Unisex Salon, the Stock 305 clothing store and the Electric Fang Tattoo parlor.
  • Extras: Vice City Styles, Goodtime Gear and the PTT Youngin$ Compound.

GTA 6 pre-order bonuses and the deadline

Pre-orders of either edition get two bonuses, but only if you buy before the deadline. The PlayStation Store and Xbox Store listings both say to purchase before 23:59:59 on November 19, 2026, launch day itself. Neither listing names a time zone.

  • Vintage Vice City Pack: a two-tone ’55 Vapid Stanier sedan with a garage, retro outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia, and an exclusive weapon pattern.
  • One free month of GTA+: Rockstar calls this a digital store bonus for PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store pre-orders. On PS5 you must redeem it by March 31, 2027. On Xbox you have 180 days from purchase. The PlayStation listing warns that the membership auto-renews at the regular monthly price after the free month, so cancel it if you don’t want to keep paying.

Physical copies have no disc

This is the detail most likely to catch people out. The Rockstar Store says the physical version “will only contain a download code inside the box to support pre-load on November 12. A disc will not be included in the box.” You need an internet connection and a platform account to download the game, so in practice it works like a digital purchase rather than a disc. The Rockstar Store sells the code-in-box for $79.99 and ships it from November 12. Its PlayStation codes are region-locked: a US or Canada copy only works on a PlayStation account from those two countries.

Which GTA 6 edition should you buy?

For most players, the Standard Edition is enough. It’s the full game, it gets the same pre-order bonuses, and at least on Xbox you can add the Ultimate content later for $20, the same price difference you’d pay now. Pick the Ultimate Edition if you already know you want the extra cars, shops and tattoo parlor from your first playthrough. If you want a box on your shelf, remember it contains a code, not a disc. Either way, buy digitally before launch night if you want the free GTA+ month and the Vintage Vice City Pack.

What’s next

Pre-loading opens on November 12, a week before launch, and that’s also when Rockstar Store code-in-box orders start shipping. A PC version still hasn’t been announced. For everything shown so far, read our breakdown of the GTA 6 launch trailer. If you’re planning a busy fall, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4’s preload and early access times come first, on October 23.
