Stuck in Rotate Rings? Which levels are Hard or Super Hard, checked video solutions for levels 29-194, a solving method and how hammers and bombs work.

Stuck on a Rotate Rings level? Search data shows players getting stuck most on levels 32, 59, 65, 99 and 139. The game flags a lot of those boards as Hard or Super Hard. In the walkthrough videos we checked, every level ending in 9 from 39 to 119 opens with a Super Hard banner. Below you’ll find a per-level table with two checked video solutions for each popular hard level. There’s also a solving method that works on any board, and a rundown of what the hammer, bombs and closed rings do, so you know when a booster is worth spending.

Rotate Rings is a free ring-untangling puzzle from Nebula Studio (the App Store seller is HURELAX PTE. LTD.). As of October 25, 2026 (checked 07:30 UTC) it is #8 on Apple’s US Top Free Games chart. It has a 4.8-star average from 58,723 ratings on its App Store listing, plus 5M+ downloads and a 4.8 from about 246,000 reviews on Google Play.

Quick answer

  • Work from the outside in. Pieces on the edge of the board with only one joint holding them are the ones you can free first. Each one you remove loosens the pieces it was linked to.
  • Follow the joints, not the colors. The small square connectors show which pieces hold each other. Color doesn’t decide the order; the links do.
  • Rotate a piece only when you know where its gap needs to go. The official description says the goal is to line up the open gaps across layers. Turning rings at random burns time and can lock a piece back in.
  • Closed rings and bombs usually need a booster. Several App Store reviewers say some later boards include fully closed rings that you can’t open by rotating. Keep a hammer or bomb in reserve for those.
  • Super Hard boards are spaced out. Expect one around every 10 levels from level 39 on. Save boosters for those instead of using them on normal levels.
  • Check the board before you copy a video. Two channels show different boards for level 59, so make sure the layout matches yours before you follow the moves.

The App Store version notes don’t help. Every update since 1.0.1 (September 15) has the same line, “Gameplay is now smoother and more stable. Bug fixes included!” So the store never says when level layouts changed.

How Rotate Rings levels work

The developer’s store description lays out the loop. Tap and drag to spin a ring to a target angle, line up the open gaps across several layers, and free the interlocking loops one at a time until the structure comes apart. The store screenshots add a few details:

  • Pieces are linked by small square joints. An open C-shaped ring hangs on its neighbor at a joint. You turn its gap toward that joint so the two can separate.
  • Acorns sit inside some rings. The store art shows them flying to a counter at the top of the screen, so they appear to be the reward for freeing the ring that holds them.
  • Straight and bent bars carry silver sleeves. Many boards mix rings with bars and L-shapes. These aren’t plain circles, so plan around their ends instead of their gaps.
  • Bombs sit on some rings. Level 75 in the store art shows two bombs on nested closed rings. Players describe bombs as a way to break rings that rotation alone can’t open.
  • The game shouts encouragement. “Good!”, “Great!” and “Excellent!” pop up as you clear pieces. One App Store reviewer said the voice lines were too frequent, and the developer replied that it had passed on a request to cut how often they play or add a separate voice toggle.

A solving method that works on any board

  1. Find the loose ends. Scan the edge of the board for pieces with a single joint. Those have the fewest links to undo, so they are the natural first moves.
  2. Trace one chain at a time. Pick a loose piece and follow its joints inward. Free the whole chain before you start another one, so you don’t end up with half-freed pieces all over the board.
  3. Turn the gap to the joint, then stop. Rotate just far enough for the gap to face the joint. Extra spinning can hook the piece onto a different neighbor.
  4. Free the rings that hold acorns early. They’re usually closed or nearly closed and buried in the middle. Clearing their outer neighbors first is what opens them.
  5. Leave closed rings and bombs for last. Only reach for a booster once nothing else on the board can move. Then you spend one booster, not two.
  6. Restart instead of grinding. One App Store reviewer at level 167 says every level up to there was solvable without helpers, but some took a lot of patience. If you’re truly stuck, restarting with a clear board often beats pushing a tangled one.

Boosters: hammer, bombs and fireworks

The game doesn’t list booster rules anywhere official, so this section relies on the store art and player reviews (checked October 25, 2026):

Tool What players report When to use it
Hammer Breaks a piece. It shows up in the store art and is often offered for watching an ad when you’re stuck A fully closed ring with nothing else left to move
Bombs on rings Sit on the board and have to go off in the right spot. One reviewer says they “don’t always work as quick” Free the pieces around the bomb first, then trigger it
Fireworks / rockets Earned through play. One reviewer says the game often offers fireworks “vs the hammer” rather than letting you pick freely Save them for Super Hard levels
Hint / play assistant The store art promotes a “Smart Hint System” that highlights a piece. A reviewer warns the assist button sits close to the board and is easy to tap by accident Only when you can’t find the next loose piece

Ads are the main complaint in the reviews. One App Store reviewer says the first 100 stages had no forced ads and ads came every three or four stages after that. Others report an ad after every level. iPhone reviewers say there’s no way to pay to remove ads, which matches the missing in-app purchase list on the App Store page. On Android, Google Play reviewers say boosters mostly come from watching ads and that boards around level 160 got hard to clear without one.

Rotate Rings hard levels: video solutions

These are the level numbers players search most often, from Google autocomplete on October 25, 2026. Difficulty comes from the banner shown in each walkthrough’s opening frame. “No banner seen” means the thumbnail didn’t show one, not that the level is easy. Both channels posted their videos two to three weeks ago, which fits the current 1.0.x versions.

Rotate Rings level 32

Level 32 is the most-searched board even though it doesn’t show a difficulty banner. It’s the first big mixed board: open C-rings, bent bars with silver sleeves and a central orange ring all linked together, with acorns tucked inside. Pieces that hang off the central ring can’t come free until their outer neighbors are gone, so the method above (outer pieces first, one chain at a time) is the way in; if you lose track, the two videos above solve it in under two minutes.

Rotate Rings level 59 and 99

Both are Super Hard. Rock Gaming Channel’s level 59 is a flower-shaped ring of overlapping loops with one acorn in the middle, while GAMISTAN ARENA’s level 59 shows a different layout, so compare boards first. Level 99 mixes bars and C-rings in a dense grid, and both videos run longer than most (GAMISTAN ARENA’s is 2:19), so expect more steps than usual. On both levels, keep any booster for the final locked piece.

Rotate Rings level 139

Level 139 is a tall board with many short bars and small rings. A walkthrough uploaded around October 24 labels it “Stage 2 Level 139”. The game may now split levels into stages, so check that the level number and the board both match before you copy the moves.

How many levels does Rotate Rings have?

The developer only says “hundreds of levels”. Public walkthroughs currently run to at least level 200, and one App Store reviewer had reached level 167.

Can every Rotate Rings level be solved without boosters?

Players disagree. One App Store reviewer says every level up to 167 was solvable without helpers. Other reviewers on both stores say later boards with fully closed rings needed a hammer or bomb, starting from around level 90 to 160.

Who makes Rotate Rings?

Nebula Studio. HURELAX PTE. LTD. is listed as the seller on the App Store. It isn’t the same game as the older “Rotate the Rings” from PIXON.
