Sand Blocks hard levels come down to two things: the order you move the pits and how fast you do it. Every board has a countdown, and Super Hard levels stack ice, locks, sliders and side pipes on top of that, so a solve that works with time to spare in one order fails in another. This guide covers what each obstacle does, how to plan a hard board before the clock costs you, which booster to save for which job, and where to find walkthroughs for the levels players search most: 46, 62, 63, 77, 113, 124, 145, 170, 195 and 200.

Quick answer
- Plan before you move. The first move matters most. Find the pit that blocks the most others and the sand that feeds the most pits, then work outward from there.
- Fill the pits that unlock things first: pits carrying a key, and pits whose completion thaws numbered ice.
- Clear space early. Sliders (pits with arrows) and big pits need empty grid cells to move into. Don’t park finished-color pits in a lane you’ll need later.
- Use the freeze booster early, not on the last second. One player reports buying a freeze in the final second and losing the coins when the level ended anyway.
- Super Hard levels repeat in a pattern. A reviewer describes it as easy, easy, hard, hard, Super Hard, hard, then repeat. Save boosters and lives for the Super Hard ones.
- Watch a walkthrough once before spending coins. Hard boards often have one move order that fits inside the time limit. See the table below.

The app has an unusual history: it launched in February 2026 as a word game, Letter Sort, before Rollic rebuilt it around sand physics, FoxData reports. The App Store version history still shows the Letter Sort notes on versions 0.1.0 and 0.1.1. By the end of August it had climbed into the US top 25 for puzzle games, according to the same analysis, and it has kept rising since.
How Sand Blocks works
Each board has a reservoir of colored sand at the top and a grid of empty, Tetris-shaped pits below. You drag a pit under sand of its color, the sand pours in, and each pit shows a fill percentage. A full pit clears, freeing grid space. Clear the board before the timer runs out to win. Rollic’s store art shows timers of about two to four minutes (3:55 on level 4, 2:49 on level 34, 3:00 on Super Hard level 140).
The catch is space. Pits can only slide into empty cells, and sand only pours when a pit of the right color sits right under it. A bad first move can trap the one pit you needed, and the clock keeps running while you undo it. That is why hard levels feel less like a reflex test and more like a sliding-block puzzle with a deadline.
Sand Blocks obstacles and what they do
Rollic adds new mechanics every few updates. The version history names two of them: Colored Tiles (version 0.3.2, September 18) and Multiple Pits (version 0.3.4, September 30). The rest below are what the official store screenshots and walkthrough videos show on the board.
| Obstacle | What you see | How to handle it |
|---|---|---|
| Numbered ice | Blue frozen tiles with a number (4, 5, 6, 8, 11…) | The number is a counter. In Rollic’s level 140 screenshots it drops from 6 to 5 as pits are completed, so fill pits early to thaw the ice that blocks your lanes. |
| Keys and locks | A key icon inside a pit; a padlocked pit elsewhere | Fill the key pit first. The locked pit can’t be used until then, so don’t build your plan around it. |
| Sliders | Pits with up-down or left-right arrows | They appear to move only along their arrow. Clear their path first, and use them to shuttle sand between rows. |
| Side and top pipes | Tubes feeding sand into the board, often with a number | Pipes add sand of one color. Line the matching pit up under or beside the pipe before the main reservoir runs dry. |
| Glass covers and crates | Frosted glass boxes or large wooden crates with counters | Like ice, they appear to open once their counter runs out. On levels 195 and 200 a crate covers half the board at the start, so the first minute happens in a tiny space. |

How to beat Sand Blocks hard levels
- Read the board for five seconds. Which colors are in the reservoir, which pits are boxed in, and which pits hold keys? On Super Hard levels the banner covers the board briefly at the start; use that moment to look.
- Start with the pit that frees the most space. Usually that’s a small pit in the top row or a pit right under the biggest pile of one color.
- Fill pits fully before moving on. A half-full pit still blocks its cells. Completing it clears space and, on ice levels, lowers the counters.
- Keep one lane open. Big L- and T-shaped pits need a clear column to travel up.
- Mind the sand that is left. If one color in the reservoir is nearly used up, its pit needs to go next or it will wait for a pipe.
- Don’t spend a life on a guess. The game gives you five lives that refill slowly, a September reviewer notes. On a Super Hard board, watch a walkthrough first rather than burning attempts.
Expect the difficulty to jump around level 70. Two App Store reviewers say Hard and Super Hard levels start coming much more often from there, and one says you need to know “the exact movements” to finish in time. Another, who quit at level 144, says the game’s support page states every level can be beaten without boosters, but that the time limit often leaves room for only one sequence of moves. If the clock wears you down, our best color sort games list has more color-matching puzzlers to try.
Sand Blocks boosters, coins and lives
The booster bar under the board holds four boosters. Rollic’s store text doesn’t describe them, so this is what the official art shows and what players report:
- Frozen clock: stops the timer. Use it at the start of the hardest section, not in the last second, when a player says the purchase didn’t register before the level ended.
- Hammer: smashes a block that’s in your way; Rollic’s art shows it breaking a dark block on Super Hard level 140.
- Magnet: the third slot. We couldn’t find an official description of what it does, so try it on an easy level before relying on it.
- UFO: hovers over the board and lifts a piece away in the store art. One reviewer says it costs 1,400 coins, the priciest of the set.

You earn coins by winning levels, with a “watch an ad for double coins” option after each win. A reviewer did the math in October: adding about 20 seconds to the clock costs 900 coins, which they say takes roughly 23 wins (or 12 with doubled coins). In other words, boosters are a treat for Super Hard levels, not something to use on every board. Since version 0.3.1 (September 7) there is also a Sand Pass with its own rewards and an End Game Tournament with unique levels and a leaderboard, according to the release notes.
Ads and in-app purchases in Sand Blocks
Both stores say the game contains ads. Reviewers disagree on how many: some call them rare, others say one plays after nearly every level. These are the top in-app purchases on the US App Store, checked October 24, 2026:
| Item | Price (US) |
|---|---|
| 1K Coins | $1.99 |
| Fail Offer | $4.99 |
| 5K Coins | $7.99 |
| No Ads | $7.99 |
| Mini Bundle | $9.99 |
| Sand Pass | $9.99 |
| No Ads Bundle | $11.99 |
| 10K Coins | $14.99 |
| Large Bundle | $19.99 |
| Super Bundle | $29.99 |
The $7.99 No Ads item is the cheapest way to cut ads. One reviewer says a $9.99 purchase gave them 6,000 coins plus one hour of unlimited lives. The “Fail Offer” is the deal that shows up when you run out of time, so decide in advance whether a level is worth paying for.
Sand Blocks level 46, 63, 113, 145 and 200 walkthroughs
These are the levels players search for most. Each video is a full solve; the “cue” column is what the board looks like at the start, so you can check you’re on the same layout. Super Hard levels show a skull banner. Levels 62, 113 and 124 use a red board, which the walkthroughs show on several Hard levels (Rollic doesn’t explain the color). Levels change in some updates, so if your board looks different, check the upload date.
| Level | Cue at the start | What makes it hard | Walkthrough |
|---|---|---|---|
| 46 | Purple board, padlocked yellow pit | Three key pits (the lock shows a 3) and ice tiles marked 17 and 8 | CherieGaming, Rock Gaming Channel |
| 62 | Red board, three ice tiles marked 11 | Two tall vertical sliders in the middle | Rock Gaming Channel |
| 63 | Two separate wells with top pipes | A tall red column, a three-color block and little free space | Rock Gaming Channel |
| 77 | Super Hard banner | Horizontal sliders, ice in the corners (5 and 10) | Rock Gaming Channel |
| 113 | Red, extra-tall board | Stacked vertical sliders between big green pits | CherieGaming |
| 124 | Red board, glass boxes marked 3, 20, 26 and 15 | A tightly packed grid and a column of 9-ice | Rock Gaming Channel |
| 145 | Super Hard banner | Half the board is ice (4s), a lock and a side pipe | CherieGaming (most viewed) |
| 170 | Super Hard banner | Keys, ice marked 8, a 28-counter pit | Rock Gaming Channel |
| 195 | Super Hard banner | A wooden crate covers the lower half; padlock | Rock Gaming Channel |
| 200 | Super Hard banner | A big crate with counters and several key pits | Rock Gaming Channel, CherieGaming |
Level 200 has a reputation: a July reviewer was stuck on it “for days” before getting through. For the same approach in other top-chart puzzlers, see our Magic Sort hard levels guide, the Block Out! tips and boosters guide and our Colony Flow levels guide.
FAQ
Can you turn off the timer in Sand Blocks?
No. There’s no relaxed or untimed mode, and several App Store reviews from September and October ask for one. The only way to get more time is the freeze booster or paying coins for extra seconds.
Can every Sand Blocks level be beaten without boosters?
According to a player quoting the game’s support page, yes. In practice Super Hard levels leave little slack, so learn the move order (a walkthrough helps) instead of improvising against the clock.
Is there a level select in Sand Blocks?
No. Reviewers point out you can’t replay or skip levels, so a stuck level stays your current level until you clear it.
How many levels does Sand Blocks have?
Rollic doesn’t publish a total. New levels arrive in most updates (versions 0.3.0, 0.3.2, 0.3.4 and 0.3.6 all mention them), and walkthrough channels have posted levels past 550.
