The fastest way to make coins in Hay Day is to stop selling raw crops cheaply: list goods in your Roadside Shop near the maximum price, turn spare crops into products such as bread and popcorn first, and fill Truck and Boat Orders every day. For leveling, nothing beats keeping short crops and production buildings busy, because every harvest and every finished product pays XP.
Below are the Hay Day tips and tricks that matter most in 2026, with every price, timer and unlock level taken from Supercell’s official Hay Day support pages or the community-run Hay Day Wiki. The crop table does the maths for you: maximum coins and XP per field per hour for 15 crops, so you can pick the best crop for how often you open the game. Facts checked November 1, 2026; the current version is 1.73.89, the October 2026 Halloween and fishing update.

Quick answer: Hay Day tips and tricks that pay off fastest
- Price near the max. The Roadside Shop lets you set any price up to 3.6 times an item’s default value, and the Hay Day Wiki notes that almost everything sells at the top price eventually.
- Match crops to your schedule. Wheat (2 min) earns the most per hour if you replant constantly; strawberries (8 h) pay the most per planting for overnight gaps.
- Process before you sell. Three wheat sell for at most 10.8 coins; the one loaf of bread they make sells for up to 21.6 and pays 3 XP.
- Do Truck Orders every day. They pay coins and XP, the 2x button doubles both for one ad, and the daily Truck Track (from level 12) adds extra rewards.
- Collect the free stuff. Up to 4 Movie Tickets a day (from level 10), a daily Wheel of Fortune spin and a free Diamond Shop reward.
- No codes, no generators. Supercell doesn’t issue Hay Day redeem codes, and using third-party software gets your Roadside Shop permanently banned.

How to make coins fast in Hay Day
1. Sell in the Roadside Shop at (or near) the maximum price
The Roadside Shop unlocks at level 7. Each box holds up to 10 of one item, and you can advertise one box in the Daily Dirt newspaper every 5 minutes (or skip the wait for 1 Diamond). The Hay Day Wiki puts the price ceiling at 3.6 times the item’s default value, and its long-running advice is simple: everything sells at full price eventually; a low-demand item just ties up a box for longer.
Get the price right the first time. Supercell’s support page says pulling an item back into storage costs 2 Diamonds for each of your first 5 returns, 10 Diamonds for the next 5 and 20 Diamonds after that, and the cost only resets after 14 days without a return.
Two more rules worth knowing:
- You can buy at most 80 expansion and upgrade materials a day from other players’ shops. Tap your XP bar, then the second tab, to see when the limit resets.
- More boxes mean more sales at once. Extra boxes cost Diamonds (up to 500 boxes), or you can unlock up to 13 for free by adding Supercell ID friends who play Hay Day.
2. Turn crops into products before selling
A finished product is usually worth more than the crops that went into it, and it pays XP when you collect it. Two early examples from the wiki’s item pages:
| Product | Ingredients | Max value of ingredients | Max price of product | Time | XP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Bread (Bakery, level 4) | 3 wheat | 10.8 coins | 21.6 coins | 5 min | 3 |
| Popcorn (Popcorn Pot, level 8) | 2 corn | 14.4 coins | 32.4 coins | 30 min | 4 |
The exception is animal feed. The wiki points out that chicken feed only sells for about the price of the corn that went into it, so make feed for your animals rather than for the shop. Production Buildings start with 1-3 slots and can be raised to 9 slots with Diamonds, and Supercell’s Products page says each building earns up to 3 Mastery Stars over time, which can cut production time or add extra coins or XP.
3. Fill Truck Orders every day
According to Supercell’s Truck Orders page, the Order Board opens at level 4 and holds up to 9 orders. Every order pays coins and XP. Tap the 2x button on an eligible order and watch one ad to double both; during Truck Events, orders can pay double or triple. From level 12, the Truck Track adds a fresh set of rewards each day (expansion and upgrade materials, Choice Crates, coins) for completing a set number of orders, and it resets daily.
If an order asks for something you don’t have, discard it: a replacement appears in 6-30 minutes depending on your level. You also get up to four help requests a day (three public, one for your Neighborhood).
4. Use Farm Visitors, Boats and Town Visitors
- Farm Visitors (from level 2) pay coins and XP for a crop or product. The first few each day can also bring Barn and Silo parts, and the daily cap rises with your level to a maximum of 10. During a Visitor Bonus Event they pay double coins (Supercell).
- Boat Orders (from level 17, once the Dock is repaired) let you pick an easy, medium or hard destination. Harder orders earn more Nautical Miles for the Voyage Track, which resets every 3 days and pays coins, XP and expansion materials (Supercell).
- Town Visitors arrive on the EGGspress Train every 6 hours once you enter the Town, and they pay coins, XP, Reputation and tools or materials when fully served (Supercell).
5. Don’t skip the daily freebies
Supercell’s Daily Rewards page lists four free sources: up to 4 Movie Tickets a day by the mailbox from level 10, a daily Wheel of Fortune spin, a free Diamond Shop reward (plus one more for an ad), and an ad button that cuts a product’s remaining production time by 50%. Ads aren’t shown on younger players’ accounts.
Best crops in Hay Day: coins and XP per hour
A field gives back two crops for each one you plant, so the net gain is one crop per harvest. That makes it easy to compare crops: divide the maximum sale price of one crop by its grow time. The table below does that for 15 field crops using the Hay Day Wiki’s Crops List (unlock level, grow time, maximum price and XP per harvest; the per-hour columns are our own arithmetic).
| Crop | Unlock level | Grow time | Max price (each) | XP per harvest | Max coins per field-hour | XP per field-hour |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Wheat | 1 | 2 min | 3.6 | 1 | 108 | 30 |
| Corn | 2 | 5 min | 7.2 | 1 | 86.4 | 12 |
| Soybean | 5 | 20 min | 10.8 | 2 | 32.4 | 6 |
| Sugarcane | 7 | 30 min | 14.4 | 3 | 28.8 | 6 |
| Carrot | 9 | 10 min | 7.2 | 2 | 43.2 | 12 |
| Indigo | 13 | 2 h | 25.2 | 5 | 12.6 | 2.5 |
| Pumpkin | 15 | 3 h | 32.4 | 6 | 10.8 | 2 |
| Cotton | 18 | 2 h 30 min | 28.8 | 6 | 11.5 | 2.4 |
| Chili pepper | 25 | 4 h | 36 | 7 | 9 | 1.8 |
| Tomato | 30 | 6 h | 43.2 | 8 | 7.2 | 1.3 |
| Strawberry | 34 | 8 h | 50.4 | 10 | 6.3 | 1.25 |
| Potato | 35 | 3 h 40 min | 36 | 7 | 9.8 | 1.9 |
| Sesame | 50 | 1 h | 18 | 4 | 18 | 4 |
| Rice | 56 | 45 min | 18 | 3 | 24 | 4 |
| Cabbage | 65 | 45 min | 18 | 3 | 24 | 4 |
The per-hour columns are a ceiling: they assume you replant the moment a field is ready and sell every spare crop at the top price. Real sales depend on buyers, and you still need crops for feed and products.
Which crop to plant, by how often you play
- You’re playing right now: wheat, then corn. Nothing else comes close per hour, and wheat is the classic XP crop for exactly this reason.
- Back in 10-30 minutes: carrots (10 min), soybeans (20 min) or sugarcane (30 min).
- Back in about an hour: sesame from level 50, or rice and cabbage (45 min) once unlocked. Before that, indigo (2 h) is the next step up.
- Away for an afternoon: pumpkin (3 h), potato (3 h 40 min) or chili peppers (4 h).
- Overnight: strawberries (8 h, level 34) pay 50.4 coins per crop at most, 14 times a wheat crop, and 10 XP per field. Before level 34, use tomatoes (6 h, level 30) or chili peppers.
One market warning from the wiki: during crop boost events, faster grow times flood the Roadside Shop with the boosted crop, so it becomes much harder to sell. Turn the extra into products instead.
What about fruit trees and bushes?
Fruit trees and bushes unlock at level 15 and grow without using up a crop. Per the wiki, each one gives four harvests (2, 3, 4 and 4 fruit), wilts after the third harvest until another player revives it, and dies after the fourth. That makes them low-effort and good per fruit (apples sell for up to 39.6 each), but they cost coins to buy and need axes or saws to clear afterwards.

How to level up fast in Hay Day
XP comes from almost everything you do. The Hay Day Wiki’s Experience page lists harvesting crops and animal goods, finishing products, filling truck, boat and town orders, selling to visitors, Farm Pass rewards, fishing, mining and clearing land, among others. The best are the ones you can repeat all day:
- Keep every field busy with short crops while you play. At 1 XP per 2-minute harvest, a wheat field is worth up to 30 XP an hour, more than double any other crop in the table.
- Never leave a production slot empty. Each bread pays 3 XP and each popcorn 4 XP; queue products before you close the game.
- Fill orders. Truck, Boat and Town orders all pay XP on top of coins, and the wiki’s own tip for more XP is truck orders plus Farm Pass objectives.
- Use the ad speed-up on long products to halve their remaining time.
- Hire help when it’s free. Rose and Ernest (level 33) are free for their first 7 days, and Tom (level 14) comes with a free 3-day trial.
The bar gets long later on. From level 50, each level needs 11,000 more XP than the one before (157,000 XP at level 50, 707,000 at level 100, per the wiki’s formula). From level 15 the bar is split into thresholds that pay supplies, Diamonds or Vouchers, and from level 37 every level-up pays Diamonds.
What unlocks at each level (the early milestones)
| Level | Unlock | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | Farm Visitors | Coins, XP, early Barn and Silo parts |
| 4 | Truck Orders | Your main daily coin and XP source |
| 7 | Roadside Shop | Sell to other players at up to the max price |
| 10 | Movie Tickets | Up to 4 free rewards a day |
| 12 | Truck Track | Daily bonus rewards for completing orders |
| 14 | Tom | Finds items for sale; 15 / 60 / 100 Diamonds for 1 / 5 / 10 days after the trial |
| 17 | Boat Orders | Voyage Track rewards every 3 days |
| 22 | Farm expansion | More room for fields and buildings |
| 25 | Lumberjack offer, Expansion Permits | Greg clears 20 dead trees or bushes for 40-50 Diamonds |
| 27 | Fishing Lake | Tackle Box; Angus can now be hired to restock it |
| 33 | Rose and Ernest | Automate feed, animals, Dairy and Sugar Mill; 15 / 30 / 55 Diamonds for 3 / 7 / 14 days |
Levels come from Supercell’s support pages for Farm Helpers, Expanding your Farm and Expanding Storage, plus the order and reward pages linked above. One catch with Rose and Ernest: their work doesn’t count toward Derby tasks, so adjust their settings before a Derby starts.
Storage tips: don’t let a full Barn stall you
Crops go in the Silo (upgraded with nails, screws and wood panels); products, animal goods and supplies go in the Barn (bolts, duct tape and planks). Supercell says both can reach 25,000 items. When the Barn is full, finished products can’t leave the building’s desk and new ones can’t start, so upgrade it or sell surplus in the Roadside Shop. Items Rose and Ernest collect sit in their own storage, not your Barn.

The Fishing Lake unlocks at level 27; since the October 2026 update, Angus can be hired to keep the Tackle Box stocked. Image: Supercell
What’s new in Hay Day (October 2026 update)
Supercell’s October 2026 “What’s New” post and the App Store notes for version 1.73.89 (October 20) add a chapter-based Halloween event (the Red Revenant story), Mussel beaches in an expanded Fishing Area, and Angus as a hireable helper. Angus restocks your Tackle Box automatically and can harvest Mussels; you still request Special Lures from him by hand. Mussels can contain Pearls, a new currency.
Are there Hay Day codes or free diamond generators?
No. Supercell doesn’t publish redeem codes for Hay Day. The official extras are the in-game daily rewards above and the Hay Day Store, Supercell’s web shop, which gives bonus items with purchases. Sites offering “free diamonds” or modded APKs are not official: Supercell’s support tells players to download the game from Google Play or the App Store because it can’t verify the safety of other versions, and its Roadside Shop page says third-party software leads to a permanent Roadside Shop ban.
Free Diamonds do exist in the normal game: the daily Diamond Shop reward, XP-bar thresholds, and Diamonds on every level-up from level 37.
