Planet Coaster 2 Cheats: No Codes, Unlimited Money in Sandbox

There’s no console or money code in Planet Coaster 2. Unlimited cash comes from Sandbox Settings: Player Cash, research, presets, Challenge Mode and consoles.

Planet Coaster 2 cheats don’t exist in the usual sense: the game has no cheat codes, no cheat console and no money cheat. Frontier’s 18 official player guides and its update notes from launch in November 2024 through Update 1.12.0 on October 29, 2026 never mention one. The official route to unlimited money is Sandbox mode: switch off Player Cash in the Economy settings and your park runs on infinite money. The same Sandbox Settings menu also lets you skip research, power, water, staff wages and breakdowns, on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S alike.

Below: how to set up a money-free park, every Sandbox setting that works like a cheat, what the newer Challenge Mode adds, what’s different on console, and the legitimate ways to make cash in Career and Franchise.

Quick answer

  • Money cheat: there isn’t one. No console, no codes (checked November 1, 2026 UTC).
  • Unlimited money: start a Sandbox park and turn Player Cash off under Economy. With it off, money never runs out.
  • Unlock all rides: turn the Research Tree off in Sandbox Settings and everything is available from the start.
  • Change settings later: Sandbox Settings stay in the pause menu, so you can switch cash on or off in a park you’ve already started.
  • PS5 and Xbox: the same Sandbox settings apply. Consoles have a park complexity limit instead.
  • Career and Franchise: no money settings. You earn cash the normal way, or move a park into Sandbox.
  • Trainers: third-party PC trainers with cash editing exist. We don’t link or recommend them.

Is there a money cheat in Planet Coaster 2?

No. Frontier’s official player guides cover the game modes, building, rides, guests, staff and park management, and none of them lists a cheat menu, a console or a code to type. The words “cheat” and “console command” don’t appear in any of the update notes on Frontier’s Steam news page either. If you’re used to a game with a real developer console, like the ones in our Cyberpunk 2077 console commands list, Planet Coaster 2 doesn’t work that way.

Instead, Frontier built the “cheats” into the difficulty system. Its quickstart guide says the game has Easy, Medium and Hard for Career mode, Creative or Challenge for Sandbox, and “extensive custom difficulty settings to set your own challenges”. In the official Steam screenshot above, the money counter in the bottom bar reads “Unlimited”. That’s what a park looks like with Player Cash turned off.

What about the old Planet Coaster name cheats?

The first Planet Coaster had hidden name cheats. On Frontier’s “Planet Coaster Cheat Day” in April 2017, PC Gamer reported that renaming a guest “TegidCam” gave you a first-person camera and “Andy Fletcher” switched off coaster friction. None of them gave money. Frontier hasn’t announced any name cheats for Planet Coaster 2, and its guides and notes don’t list any. Pages that list them for the sequel cite no source, so treat them as unverified.

How to get unlimited money in Planet Coaster 2

  1. On the main menu, choose Sandbox and start a new park.
  2. Pick a biome (TheGamer counted four at launch: Tropical, Temperate, Mediterranean and Taiga), or one of the Career maps Frontier added to Sandbox in Updates 3 to 6.
  3. Choose a preset. Creative removes the management systems. Challenge keeps them and gives you a fixed starting budget.
  4. Open Sandbox Settings and go to the Economy tab, the last category.
  5. Turn Player Cash off. According to TheGamer’s settings guide, with it off “you will have infinite money at all times”.
  6. While you’re there, turn the Research Tree off if you want every ride unlocked. A player answer in the Steam discussions confirms that turning research off “will unlock all content”.

Already playing a Sandbox park with money switched on? Open the pause menu (Escape on PC). TheGamer says Sandbox Settings is the sixth option, just below Settings, and it holds the same options as the creation screen. Frontier’s Update 3 notes (March 2025) also fixed a launch limit: Sandbox Settings can now be changed even after you set a park to Challenge difficulty.

Planet Coaster 2 sandbox settings that work like cheats

Frontier hasn’t published one complete list of Sandbox toggles. The table combines the settings Frontier names in its own update notes with the settings menu documented by TheGamer at launch (November 7, 2024). Later updates have added options, so check the in-game tooltips as well.

Setting Tab What turning it off (or changing it) does Source
Player Cash Economy Off = infinite money TheGamer

Power Supply Park, Flat Rides, Tracked Rides Off = no generators or power cables needed TheGamer
Ride / Facility Condition, Breakdowns Park Off = rides stay in perfect condition and never break down TheGamer
Staff pay, morale, breaks, quitting Staff Unpaid staff who never tire or quit TheGamer; Frontier Update 4 notes
Guest needs (hunger, thirst, toilet, nausea, litter) Guests Switch needs off or scale them with multipliers TheGamer
Pool and flume cleanliness, lifeguards Water Park Off = no filters or lifeguards needed TheGamer
Extended track limits Tracked Rides On = relaxed limits on steep track pieces TheGamer
Weather conditions and their effects Park settings Toggle weather types off; stop storms breaking rides, pools freezing and weather affecting utilities Frontier Update 8 notes (Dec 2025)
Guest limit Guests 0 to 6,000 guests; up to 12,000 on PC TheGamer; Frontier Update 1 notes

One detail differs between sources. TheGamer lists a starting cash slider of $50,000 to $100,000, while a player in a launch-day Steam thread says you can drag it down to zero. Either way, Player Cash off is the “unlimited money” setting.

The weather options arrived with Frontier’s Update 8 notes (1.8.1, December 4, 2025), which say Park Managers can now toggle off particular weather conditions, switch off pool temperatures and stop weather from affecting utilities. The 12,000-guest cap is PC-only, according to the Update 1 notes (December 2024).

Sandbox presets compared

TheGamer’s launch-week table shows what each preset changes before you touch anything:

System Default Creative Challenge
Cash Unlimited Unlimited $100k (Easy), $50k (Medium/Hard)
Research None None Full
Power and water Full None Full
Staff management Full None Full (125% fair pay on Hard)
Guest management Full None Full (needs raised on Hard)

If you just want to build, Creative is the closest thing to “cheats on”. Frontier’s quickstart guide itself names only Creative and Challenge for Sandbox, so the Default label may differ in your version. Pick Challenge only if you want money to matter.

Challenge Mode: cash rewards instead of cheats

Update 7 (September 2025) added a separate Challenge Mode. Don’t confuse it with the Sandbox Challenge preset. According to Frontier’s Update 7 notes:

  • You get optional challenges that pay out extra cash for building your park.
  • The challenges get harder as your park rating rises.
  • You start from a Sandbox biome or a Career sandbox template.
  • You can convert a Challenge park into a Sandbox park, then turn Player Cash off and keep building.

That conversion is handy if you want to earn a park properly first and decorate it with unlimited money later. Frontier’s Update 1 notes also say Career restrictions are removed from parks converted into Sandbox parks.

Planet Coaster 2 cheats on PS5 and Xbox

Console players get the same three game modes, and Frontier’s guides describe one set of difficulty and Sandbox settings for PC and console. Only a few options, like the 12,000-guest cap, are marked PC-only in the update notes. So unlimited money works the same way on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S: Sandbox, Economy, Player Cash off. There are no button-combination cheats on console either.

The real console difference is park size. Frontier’s senior executive producer Adam Woods told Push Square before launch that the team worked to keep “good parity across the platforms”, but that “the consoles will have a park complexity limit to ensure the game will run smoothly”. Infinite money won’t get you past that limit. And according to the Update 3 notes, you can’t upload a park above 100% complexity to Franchise.

Trainers, Cheat Engine and Franchise

Searches for “Planet Coaster 2 cheat engine” or “money cheat PC” lead to third-party trainers and memory editors that offer unlimited cash or research points. We don’t link or recommend them. They aren’t made or supported by Frontier, and they can break whenever the game updates, and Frontier has shipped 12 numbered updates plus many hotfixes since launch. Planet Coaster 2’s Franchise mode is online: you share parks with other players and compete on leaderboards, so editing money there affects other people’s game too. Sandbox gives you everything a money trainer does, officially.

Do achievements and trophies work in Sandbox?

At least one does. Frontier’s official achievements list includes “Against the Odds”, a Gold trophy for building a 5-star park in Sandbox Mode. Many others, such as opening your first coaster or having 1,000 guests at once, say “in any park”. Frontier’s list doesn’t say that turning Player Cash or research off blocks any of them, but it doesn’t confirm it either. Career-only trophies, like the 72 Career medals for “Fully Loaded”, still need Career mode.

Planet Coaster 2 money tips (Career and Franchise)

Without a cheat, cash comes from running the park well. Frontier’s Park Management guide lists the main levers:

  1. Set prices on purpose. Raising a ride above its Bargain price earns more and shortens its queue. Since Update 4, default ride prices also follow the difficulty you picked.
  2. Try free park entry. Frontier’s own tip: more guests come in, and they spend on rides and shops.
  3. Sell Priority Passes on your busiest coasters.
  4. Use loans carefully. How much you can borrow depends on your Park Value, and a Sales Cut takes a share of every sale until you repay. Paying part back early lowers the cut.
