Township levels up fastest from orders: helicopter, train, plane and Zoo. XP sources ranked, XP needed per level to 138 and the best early achievements.

To level up fast in Township, keep every transport busy: helicopter orders, train cars, airplane crates and Zoo orders are the XP you can earn again and again, every day. On top of that, chase achievements, which pay up to 7,000 XP each, and upgrade XP in the Academy of Industry once it unlocks at level 22. Construction gives XP too, but a finished community building covers only a small slice of a level’s XP bar, so building alone won’t level you up quickly.

The official facts come from Playrix’s Township help center. The XP numbers come from the community-run Township Wiki. Checked November 1, 2026, with Township at version 40.0.0 (App Store, October 28).

Quick answer

  • XP comes from almost everything, but the repeatable sources are orders. Playrix says helicopter orders pay “coins and experience points”, and that some orders give more coins while others give more experience.
  • Ranked by the most XP one action can pay (wiki ranges): achievements 30-7,000, construction 5-19,632, trains, planes and Zoo orders 10-2,000, helicopter orders 10-1,100, decorations 5-1,047. Farm chores pay 1-434.
  • Pick XP-heavy helicopter orders. The wiki notes that orders paying fewer coins often pay more XP. Orders for ingots, jewelry or gems also give XP.
  • Help other players. Filling friends’ and co-op members’ trains, planes and Zoo orders earns XP too (10-2,000 per the wiki).
  • Upgrade XP in the Academy of Industry (level 22). Factory and train XP can each go up to +100%.
  • Don’t race past your materials. The wiki warns that unlocking community buildings too quickly leaves you short of construction materials.

Township XP sources ranked: what levels you up fast

The wiki’s Xp page lists a range for each kind of action. The table orders them by the most XP a single action can pay. The wiki calls its transport figures estimates, and the exact amount depends on the order, the building or your level.

Rank XP source XP per action (wiki) Available from Repeatable?
1 Achievements 30-7,000 Town Hall, Achievements tab No, 4 tiers each
2 Building houses, community buildings, factories, special buildings, Zoo enclosures; land expansions 5-19,632 Start Limited by unlocks
3 Train cars, airplane crates, Zoo orders 10-2,000 Train level 5, airport 17, Zoo 24 Yes
3 Helping friends and co-op members (trains, planes, Zoo, chat requests) 10-2,000 Once you have friends or a co-op Yes
4 Helicopter orders 10-1,100 Start Yes
5 Buying (and selling) decorations 5-1,047 Start Costs coins
6 Collecting goods from factory shelves 2-434 Bakery, level 2 Yes
7 Plowing fields 2-156 Start Yes
8 Collecting animal and mushroom products 3-30 Start Yes
9 Harvesting crops 1-21 Start Yes

The Xp page also mentions upgradable decorations worth up to 26,505 XP. The wiki’s own Upgradable Decorations page says those were discontinued in 2025 and are no longer in the store, so we left them out of the ranking. Unlock levels come from the wiki’s Train, Airport and Level up pages and Playrix’s Zoo article.

How much XP each level needs

The wiki’s Level up page lists the XP each level’s bar needs. It starts at 9 XP at level 1 and reaches 1,050,000 XP at level 138. We added up its rows in bands of 10 levels so you can see how quickly the climb gets steeper. The per-level figures are the wiki’s. The band totals and running totals are our sums.

Levels XP bar at the first level of the band XP for the whole band (our sum) Total XP to reach the top of the band (our sum)
1 to 10 9 2,479 2,479
10 to 20 963 29,263 31,742
20 to 30 6,736 132,104 163,846
30 to 40 23,974 388,091 551,937
40 to 50 61,628 896,223 1,448,160
50 to 60 130,727 1,775,540 3,223,700
60 to 70 244,220 3,133,300 6,357,000
70 to 80 384,000 4,361,000 10,718,000
80 to 90 498,000 5,465,000 16,183,000
90 to 100 605,000 6,507,000 22,690,000
100 to 110 706,000 7,496,000 30,186,000
110 to 120 802,000 8,438,000 38,624,000
120 to 130 894,000 9,341,000 47,965,000
130 to 138 982,000 8,098,000 56,063,000

Two things stand out. The early game flies by: reaching level 20 takes 31,742 XP in total, less than the bar for level 33 alone (32,663 XP on the wiki). And the bar keeps growing. From level 63 (300,000 XP) to level 138 (1,050,000 XP) it grows by about 10,000 XP per level on average (our math). So at high levels, the XP you earn every day matters far more than one-off rewards.

Why building alone won’t level you up fast

Construction gives a nice lump of XP, but compare it with the bar. On the wiki’s Community Buildings table, a community building’s XP is about double the population it adds. For example, the Grocery Store gives 20 XP for +10 and the Coworking Space 8,880 XP for +4,440. Measured against the XP bar at its unlock level (our math):

  • Rocket Ride (level 20): 190 XP, about 2.8% of the 6,736 XP bar
  • Stadium (level 37): 360 XP, about 0.8% of 47,571
  • Planetarium (level 60): 940 XP, about 0.4% of 244,220
  • Coworking Space (level 138): 8,880 XP, about 0.8% of 1,050,000

Community buildings still matter for leveling, just indirectly. They raise the population cap, and Playrix says a bigger population brings more helicopter orders and lets you build more factories, which means more orders to fill. Our Township population cap guide covers the fastest order to finish them, and the Township building materials list shows what each one needs.

What to ship for the most XP

Helicopter orders

According to Playrix, the Helicopter Pad is available from the start, and you choose which orders to fill: some pay more coins, others more experience. If XP is your goal, fill the XP-heavy ones and trash the rest. The wiki says a dumped order refreshes in 30 minutes, or right away for 4 T-cash. Two more points from Playrix: the number of orders grows with your population, and orders only come from buildings inside the helicopter’s coverage area. If your order count drops, check your layout.

Trains

Your first train arrives at level 5. The second costs 1,000 coins at level 14 and the third 14,000 coins at level 25 (wiki Train page). The wiki notes that loading train cars gives XP but no coins. What trains bring back is building materials and tools. That makes trains doubly useful: the XP levels you up, and the materials finish the community buildings that unlock along the way.

Airplanes (airport, level 17)

According to the wiki, each airplane crate pays its coins and XP the moment you fill it. Playrix gives you 15 hours to load a plane and then 5 hours before the next one. One rule costs players rewards: you must send the plane yourself before the timer runs out. If it leaves on its own, Playrix says the reward is lost, even with full compartments. The wiki adds that half-loaded planes don’t earn the send-off bonus.

Zoo orders (level 24)

Playrix says the Zoo unlocks at town level 24 once you restore the bus stop for 5,000 coins. Zoo orders pay coins and experience and fill a reward-chest bar. You can hold up to 5 at a time, and completed orders are replaced every 2 hours, so checking in a few times a day keeps them flowing. You can track them from the Zoo Order Board near the bus stop without entering the Zoo.

Achievements worth chasing for XP

Playrix calls achievements “a chance to get more experience points and Township Cash”. Each one has four levels, and every level pays XP and T-cash. Tap the Town Hall and open the Achievements tab to see them. Several first tiers pay a lot for very little. The values below are from the wiki’s Achievements page, which says it has been up to date since version 26.0.0, so treat them as a guide.

Achievement (tier I) Task XP (wiki)
Mushroom King Collect 10 mushrooms 1,300
Generous Pig Collect 10 strips of bacon 1,200
Devoted Divers Collect 15 units of seaweed 1,200
Ark Have 5 animals at the Zoo 1,100
Perfect Zoo Complete 20 Zoo orders 1,100
Winged Friends Collect down feathers from 10 ducks 1,000
Wildlife Reserve Buy 3 Zoo expansions 900
Favorable Wind Send 10 ships to the islands 800

Those eight first tiers add up to 8,600 XP (our sum). That’s more than a full level’s bar anywhere up to level 21 (7,813 XP on the wiki). The top tiers pay more, up to 8,200 XP for Mushroom King IV (3,500 mushrooms), but they take far longer. The port, which you need for Favorable Wind, opens at level 29 according to Playrix.

Academy of Industry: double your factory and train XP

Playrix says the Academy of Industry unlocks at level 22 and uses ingots from the foundries. Factory upgrades raise the XP you earn for producing goods, and train upgrades raise the XP for loading cars. The wiki gives the limits: attributes rise 5% per upgrade, and factories (max level 53) and trains (max level 31) both top out at +100% experience. Playrix notes you can’t upgrade just one attribute; all of them have to rise step by step.

The wiki’s suggested order puts speed first (feed mills, then trains to level 21 for -50% travel time, then the main factories) and XP upgrades last. Its tip for players who log in less often is to favor coin or XP upgrades instead. Faster trains also bring materials sooner, so speed-first doesn’t slow your leveling.

Regatta and boosters: where they fit

The Regatta doesn’t pay XP directly. According to Playrix, its 12 weekly tasks (6 match-3 and 6 town tasks) earn Regatta points for your team and tokens for the Regatta store. The two goals line up, though: town tasks like trains and planes are XP actions anyway. Tokens also buy boosters. Playrix lists Record demand (new helicopter orders appear 80% faster for 1 day) and Shortcut (trains arrive twice as fast for 1 day) among the boosters you get from events or Yacht Club tokens. Gems buy others at the Laboratory, such as High-speed production (factory goods take 30% less time for 2 days). Save Record demand and Shortcut for a day when you can play a lot.

Should you level up as fast as possible?

Not at any cost. The wiki’s Xp page lists unlocking community buildings too quickly as the main downside, because you can end up short of construction materials. Each level also unlocks new crops, factories and buildings, and level-up rewards can include T-cash and card packs (Playrix). A steady pace that keeps materials and buildings in step usually works better than a sprint. For general beginner tips, see our older Township guide with tips and tricks. FAQ

What’s the fastest way to level up in Township?

Fill orders all day: helicopter orders (choose the XP-heavy ones), train cars, airplane crates and, from level 24, Zoo orders. Claim easy first-tier achievements, help co-op members fill their orders, and once you reach level 22, raise factory and train XP in the Academy of Industry.

What is the highest level in Township?

Playrix doesn’t publish a maximum level. The wiki’s Level up page lists XP figures all the way to level 500. The newest community building on its list, the Coworking Space, unlocks at level 138 (added in version 39.0.0). The Xp page notes that once you pass the last unlock, you have to wait for an update for new items.

How do you level up factories in Township?

In the Academy of Industry, which unlocks at level 22. You pay for upgrades with ingots from the foundries. Upgrades raise the coins you get for goods at the Helicopter Pad and the XP for producing them, cut production time, and add shelves, according to Playrix.
