One Piece could be the theme of Fortnite’s next mini-season, which is expected to start on November 1 when Chapter 7 Season 4 ends. For now it’s a rumor. Epic Games hasn’t announced a One Piece collaboration. The talk comes from well-known Fortnite leakers and from teasers that data miners found in the v42.40 update, which went live on October 15.

Who leaked the Fortnite One Piece collab?
The rumor started in September. On September 23, leaker ShiinaBR posted that a One Piece collab season was “likely in 39 days”, which works out to November 1. He cited two other leakers, SamLeakss and SpushFNBR, who said insiders had told them about a One Piece mini-season. He also pointed to Rocket League, another Epic game. Game Rant reports that One Piece text, including lines about Gol D. Roger and the Great Pirate Era, turned up in Rocket League’s files.
On October 2, HYPEX rounded up what he called possible teasers. One is a lore loading screen that hunts for “that final missing sliver” (a sliver being a piece, he noted). Others are voice lines about “a tiny missing fragment of the Zero Point” and a key in the art that he says looks like the Straw Hat Jolly Roger. He also flagged an Item Shop tab that read “One more piece. Instant aura.”
The October 15 update added the biggest hint so far: a giant pirate chest east of Sunken Shores, according to FortniteNews and Polygon. Polygon says data miners also found a new loading screen of Jonesy and Hope falling through a crack in reality with the chest. In it, Jonesy sits on a barrel, a possible nod to Luffy’s famous entrance from a barrel in chapter 2 of the manga. The case isn’t airtight, though. Hotspawn points out that the chest has no One Piece branding.
What has Epic said about One Piece in Fortnite?
Nothing. Epic hasn’t announced a One Piece collab or the theme of the next mini-season. The official v42.40 update notes and the current in-game news tiles cover Fortnitemares, the Five Nights at Freddy’s bosses and Sprites. None of them mention One Piece. Game Rant notes that no characters, outfits or rewards have been reliably leaked yet, so a Luffy skin is still a guess.
When does Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 end?
Epic’s Fortnitemares notes say the event runs until November 1. Polygon reports that Chapter 7 Season 4 also ends on November 1 and that the mini-season starts the same day. Some season trackers list October 31 instead, so check the countdown in your Battle Pass tab. After the mini-season comes Chapter 8, which Polygon says will replace the island, the weapons and key mechanics.

A themed mini-season between chapters isn’t new. Last November it was The Simpsons: Polygon notes that the map turned into Springfield and a mini-pass offered cel-shaded cosmetics.
Fortnite’s anime collabs so far
If it’s real, One Piece would join a long list of anime crossovers. Release dates here come from Epic’s in-game item data and Siliconera’s list of every anime crossover:
| Series | First arrived | Fortnite season |
|---|---|---|
| Naruto | November 2021 | Chapter 2 Season 8 |
| Dragon Ball Super | August 2022 | Chapter 3 Season 3 |
| My Hero Academia | December 2022 | Chapter 4 Season 1 |
| Attack on Titan | March 2023 | Chapter 4 Season 2 |
| Jujutsu Kaisen | August 2023 | Chapter 4 Season 3 |
| Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War | December 2025 | Chapter 7 Season 1 |

Most of these were Item Shop sets, sometimes with Battle Pass skins or themed items such as Dragon Ball’s Kamehameha. None of them took over a whole season. If the leaks are right, One Piece would be the first anime to do that.
