Game Rant, TechWiser and Allthings.how list the same drops, but they don’t agree on the shotgun’s name. Game Rant lists the Mythic High Stakes’ Shotgun, while TechWiser and Allthings.how call it the Wood Stake Shotgun. Both names fit: the Fortnite Wiki describes High Stakes’ Shotgun as the Mythic version of the Wood Stake Shotgun, which Epic brought back for Fortnitemares.
Where is Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria in Fortnite?
The pizzeria isn’t one of the named locations, so it’s easy to fly past. It sits at a crossroads in the north-east of the island, north-east of Nightmare Neighborhood (the Halloween makeover of The Battlewoods) and just south of the Pac-Man island.
How to find it:
- From the Battle Bus, look for the small yellow Pac-Man-shaped island in a lake in the north-east.
- Glide to the shore south-west of it. Nintendo Life recommends this as the easiest landmark to aim for.
- Look for a diner with a parking lot on a curved road, surrounded by snowy trees. That’s Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. The Fortnite Wiki lists it as “Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.”
- Head inside to the dining room. The stage overlooks the tables, and Pirate’s Cove is right beside it.
According to the Fortnite Wiki, the building was an unfinished restaurant before Fortnitemares and has 17 chests. The wiki also calls it the first landmark in Fortnite’s history with two bosses. Game Rant notes that Freddy and Foxy start near the stage but may have wandered off if another squad got there first.
Where do Bonnie and Chica spawn?
Bonnie and Chica are the hard ones. They spawn somewhere different each match, and unlike most bosses they don’t show up as a boss icon on your map. Nintendo Life ran into Bonnie at Chopped Shop on launch day.
Before the October 15 update, the Five Nights at Freddy’s Wiki listed these possible spawn spots, picked at random each match:
- The Sleazy Snooze (landmark)
- Lifty Lodge
- Chopped Shop
- Golden Grove
- Carwash (landmark, south-west of Golden Grove)
- Shaken Sanctuary
The same wiki now says spawn points changed with v42.40 and haven’t been fully mapped yet. Epic’s v42.40 notes don’t mention any spawn changes. So use the list as a starting point, not a guarantee. If you only want the possession perk, Freddy and Foxy are the reliable option. If Bonnie or Chica crosses your path while you loot, take the fight.
How to beat the FNAF animatronics
All four animatronics fight the same way. Here’s what community sources report:
- They freeze while you watch them. According to the FNAF Wiki, a boss stops moving when you look at it from a distance. Look away or get too close, and it sprints at you. Nintendo Life describes the same rhythm of standing still and then rushing in.
- They’re melee only. The wiki says they carry only a pickaxe that deals 10 damage per hit, but they have three times a player’s health.
- Two at once is the real danger. Freddy and Foxy share the pizzeria, and Nintendo Life warns that several animatronics on you at the same time can quickly overwhelm you.
What to do first, based on those mechanics:
- Land with a plan. Grab a weapon and some shields from the pizzeria’s chests before you walk up to the stage.
- Keep your camera on the boss while you back off and shoot. Turning to run is what makes it charge.
- Split Freddy and Foxy up. Fight from the doorway or the parking lot so only one reaches you at a time.
- Grab the loot right away. Allthings.how notes each boss falls once per match and drops its loot on the spot. Another squad can take it if you leave it.
- Watch your back. Other squads go for the same bosses. Game Rant notes Freddy and Foxy may already have moved if someone got there first.

How to possess an animatronic (and what it does)
Possessing is the main reason to hunt these bosses. Epic’s update notes explain it like this: “Bring one down and you can possess it to play as the animatronic yourself. If your health bottoms out while possessing it, you’ll have a few seconds where you can’t be eliminated before the animatronic shell breaks and you’re back in the fight.”
In practice:
- Defeat any of the four animatronics. It drops into a powered-down state, and the Possess Animatronic Shell appears with the rest of its loot.
- Interact with it to take over the body. Your character turns into that animatronic. Nintendo Life says your inventory stays the same.
- The FNAF Wiki says possessing adds +100 health and shield and gives you glowing red eyes.
- When the shell’s health runs out, you get a few seconds where you can’t be eliminated, then you’re back to your normal self.
One fix to know about: the official v42.40 update notes (October 15) say “You’ll no longer get stuck after defeating and possessing one of Freddy’s Animatronics.” If that bug put you off earlier this month, it’s worth another try.

Freddy Fazbear vs Freddy Krueger: which Freddy boss is which?
Fortnitemares has two Freddys, which confuses a lot of searches. Freddy Krueger from A Nightmare on Elm Street isn’t an animatronic, and you can’t possess him.

Game Rant notes that Krueger often appears on the map as a regular NPC rather than a boss skull, so check NPC icons around Nightmare Neighborhood. You don’t even need to beat him on Saturday, October 17. Epic’s Power Hours give every player an enhanced Freddy’s Nightmare from the start of the match. The first round starts at 6 PM UTC (2 PM ET) and the second at 1 AM UTC Sunday (9 PM ET Saturday). The Trick or Treat Sprite variant also appears more often during both rounds.

According to the Fortnite Wiki, Freddy Fazbear, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy cost 1,500 V-Bucks each, or 4,500 V-Bucks for the Five Nights at Freddy’s Bundle. FortniteNews confirms the same bundle price. The outfits are reactive and look more damaged the more damage you take, with styles to keep them clean or fully wrecked. The FNAF Wiki, citing Epic’s shop page, says the set is due to leave the Item Shop on October 31.
