Press F1, type dm for god mode and fly, cm for the creative menu, then giveself an item ID. Full 7 Days to Die command list for V3.4 plus achievement rules.

7 Days to Die console commands work in the current V3.4 build on PC. Press F1 to open the console, type dm to switch on debug mode (god mode, fly and the debug panel) and cm to unlock the creative menu, then spawn items with giveself <itemName>. Using any of these turns achievements off for that session. Below is the full command table, item ID examples, the debug mode keys and the V3.x changes that break older lists. Checked November 1, 2026 UTC against The Fun Pimps’ patch notes up to V3.4.0 Stable (b9 hotfix, October 26, 2026).

Quick answer

  • Open the console: F1 on PC. On some layouts the second key is “ (US), @ (EU), Ö/Ø/F2 (Scandinavian) or Ñ (Spanish).
  • God mode and fly: type dm (short for debugmenu), close the console and press Esc. The debug panel has God Mode and Fly Mode toggles.
  • Spawn items: cm opens the creative menu (press U), or use giveself gunMGT1AK47. Item IDs are names now, not numbers.
  • Change the time: settime day, settime night or settime <day> <hour> <minute>.
  • Achievements: cheat mode, creative mode and debug mode all block achievement progress, but only for the session in which you use them.
  • Consoles: the F1 command console is a PC feature. We found no official command console for PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

How to enable console commands in 7 Days to Die

  1. Load your single-player world, or join a server where you have admin rights.
  2. Press F1 to open the command console.
  3. Type help to list every command your build supports, or help <command> for the syntax of one command. That in-game list is always the final word for your version.
  4. For god mode and fly, type dm and press Enter. For free items, type cm. Type either one again to switch it off.

On a dedicated server you are not an admin just because you rent it. GameServerKings’ command reference (checked against V3.2.0, updated September 28, 2026) explains that permission levels run from 0 (full power) to 1000 (default player), that giveself and cm need level 0 by default, and that you grant it with admin add <platform + user id> 0. You can lower a single command’s requirement with cp add <command> <level>.

7 Days to Die console commands list (V3.4)

Command names and aliases below are cross-checked between the in-game help lists published by Game Host Bros (updated April 2, 2026) and GameServerKings (V3.2.0), plus The Fun Pimps’ patch notes for anything added since. Some commands are case sensitive. Arguments in <angle brackets> are required, arguments in [square brackets] are optional.

Leave resetallstats alone: Game Host Bros’ help list describes it as resetting all achievement stats, and achievements too when you add true.

Debug mode: god mode, fly and the debug panel

After dm, press Esc. According to Game Host Bros’ cheat mode guide (updated September 10, 2026), the debug panel lets you turn on God Mode, Fly Mode and Invisibility and use the POI teleporter. The Fun Pimps’ V2.0 patch notes refactored the debug menu tabs, made the POI teleporter window show biome names and allowed ignoring chest locks while debug mode is on. That last one is the no-lockpick way into a locked chest.

Key (debug mode on) What it does Source
Esc Debug panel (god mode, fly, invisibility, POI teleporter) Game Host Bros, 2026
F6 Entity spawner menu Game Host Bros, 2026; wiki
U Creative menu (after cm) Game Host Bros, 2026; wiki
Q God mode on/off Wiki, confirmed for Alpha 21.1
H Fly on/off (Space up, C down, Shift faster) Wiki, confirmed for Alpha 21.1
Shift + Q Teleport to where you aim (turn god mode on first or take fall damage) Wiki, Alpha 15 page
F3 Debug info overlay; V2.5 lets you copy a shape or prefab name with Shift + Right Ctrl Wiki; V2.5 notes

The hotkeys come from the community 7 Days to Die Wiki’s Cheat Mode page (marked accurate for Alpha 21.1 as of October 2023) and its older Debug Mode page. Neither is versioned for V3.x, so if a key does nothing in V3.4, use the toggles in the Esc panel instead.

7 Days to Die item IDs for giveself

Item IDs are internal names such as gunMGT1AK47. The numeric IDs that many older lists still show date from the Alpha builds and no longer work, according to GameServerKings’ item ID list, taken from the V3.2.0 items.xml and checked September 27, 2026. Names are not case sensitive. Some common ones:

Item giveself ID
AK-47 Machine Gun gunMGT1AK47
Forged Iron resourceForgedIron
Stack of Wood (6,000) resourceWoodBundle
Stack of Iron (6,000) resourceScrapIronBundle
Stack of Gas Cans (5,000) ammoGasCanBundle
Box of 9mm Ammo (100) ammoBundle9mmBulletBall
Lockpick / Stack of Lockpicks (50) resourceLockPick / resourceLockPickBundle
First Aid Kit medicalFirstAidKit
Nomad Outfit (armor) armorNomadOutfit

Two details save a lot of trouble:

  • Use bundles for bulk materials. GameServerKings found that count creates that many separate items one at a time, so giveself resourceWood 1 5000 drops 5,000 single pieces of wood and can stall the game. giveself resourceWoodBundle gives one bundle that opens into 6,000.
  • Some items are only in giveself. In V3.2.0 the creative menu hides every piece of armor and every skill book, so spawn those by name. To put an item straight into your backpack, fill in the earlier arguments too: giveself medicalFirstAidKit 1 10 true.

Not sure of a name? Type li plus part of it, for example li lockpick.

What changed in V3.x (why older command lists fail)

  • give and listitems are back (V3.3.0). The V3.3.0 experimental b18 notes (September 24, 2026) say “give and listitems commands are available again”. GameServerKings’ V3.2.0 reference found no server-side give command, so on V3.0 to V3.2 those two were missing. V3.3.0 reached the stable branch on October 5, so current builds should have both again.
  • Sandbox options replaced old server settings (V3.0). V3.0 “Dead Hot Summer” added 150 sandbox options plus preset modes such as “Almost Creative Mode”, and moved settings like loot, blood moon and XP multipliers out of serverconfig.xml into a SandboxCode. The V3.0.0 b259 notes added getsandboxoptions (gso) to read them. Want more skill points without cheating? There is a “Base Skill Points” sandbox option.
  • Removed or renamed commands. GameServerKings lists spawnwh, staticmap, sounddebug, exportitemicons, clear, water and listlandclaim (llp) as missing from the V3.0 command list. Use spawnwandering instead of spawnwh. llp comes from a server mod, not the base game.
  • V3.4.0 has no command changes. The V3.4.0 Stable notes (b9 hotfix, October 26, 2026) cover backpack search and filters, drone recovery from traders and fixes, with nothing about console commands.

Do console commands disable achievements in 7 Days to Die?

Yes, for the session. The game has 43 Steam achievements, according to its Steam store page. Shurenai, whose Steam forum replies devtrackers.gg tracks as official 7 Days to Die posts, explained in 2022:

What you do Effect on achievements
Turn on Cheat Mode in the world settings Blocked for that session
Use cm (creative) or dm (debug) in game Blocked for that session
Quit, turn cheat mode off and reload without using cm or dm Achievements work again
Turn off Easy Anti-Cheat No effect on achievements

That statement predates 1.0 and V3.x, and The Fun Pimps have not published a newer rule, so treat it as the best available guidance. Game Host Bros’ 2026 guide gives the same warning. To be safe, make a copy of your save before cheating.

Console commands not working? Common fixes

  • “Cannot execute giveself on dedicated server”. giveself runs on your client. Type it in the F1 console in game, not in the server panel’s console.
  • Nothing happens on a server. You probably lack permission level 0. Ask the owner to run admin add for you, or to lower the command with cp add.
  • Unknown item. You used a numeric ID or a misspelled name. Search with li <text>.
  • give or listitems missing. You are on V3.0 to V3.2. Update to V3.3.0 or later.
  • F1 does nothing. Try your layout’s second key from the Quick answer list.

Can you use console commands on PS5 or Xbox?

Not the F1 command console. We found no Fun Pimps documentation of a command console on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S. The community wiki’s Cheat Mode page says console versions have no cheats beyond access to the creative menu, but that page dates from Alpha 21, so check your world settings for current options.

Playing other single-player PC games? Our other command guides cover Valheim console commands for 1.0, Cyberpunk 2077 console commands, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 console commands, Oblivion Remastered console commands and Fallout 4 console commands and item codes.

FAQ

How do I give myself items in 7 Days to Die?

Use cm and press U to open the creative menu, or type giveself <itemName>, for example giveself resourceWoodBundle. Armor and skill books only spawn with giveself.

How do I change the time in 7 Days to Die?

Type settime day or settime night, or settime <day> <hour> <minute> for an exact time. Save first: big jumps can upset timers in your world.
