ARK: Survival Ascended commands work on PC, Xbox and PlayStation. On PC press ~ (tilde) to open the console; on Xbox and PS5 you first turn on console access in the game settings, then open it from the pause screen. In single-player you type a command such as god, fly or gcm as-is. On a server you log in with enablecheats <admin password> and put cheat or admincheat in front of every command. Below: how to enable them on each platform, then tables for player cheats, items, dino spawns, taming and server admin. Checked November 3, 2026 UTC against the ARK wiki’s console command, creature ID and item pages.

How to enable commands in ARK: Survival Ascended (PC, PS5, Xbox)
The official ARK wiki’s console commands page lists the console keys for Ascended separately from Survival Evolved. They changed between the two games: Evolved used Tab on PC, Ascended uses tilde.
| Platform | How to open the console |
|---|---|
| PC (Steam), or a console with keyboard and mouse active | Press ~ (the key left of 1, under Esc) |
| Xbox, or any Xbox controller | Enable console access in the game settings, pause with Menu, then press View (shown in the lower-left of the pause screen) |
| PlayStation, or any PS controller | Enable console access in the game settings, open the pause screen, then press the button shown in its lower-left corner |
Single-player vs. servers
- Single-player: type the bare command. The wiki notes that prefixes still work there, but you don’t need them.
- Your own dedicated or rented server: type
enablecheatsfollowed by the server’sServerAdminPassword. After that, every cheat needscheatoradmincheatin front:cheat fly. - Official servers: players don’t have the admin password, so cheat commands are not available there.
Three rules from the wiki save a lot of typos: commands are not case-sensitive; true/false arguments also accept 1 and 0; and you can chain commands with a vertical bar, such as LeaveMeAlone | Fly | God. On a server, each command in the chain needs its own cheat prefix.
ARK Survival Ascended cheat commands for players
Examples are written without the prefix for single-player. On a server, add cheat in front.
| Command | What it does | The catch |
|---|---|---|
god |
God mode: no damage from attacks, explosions or falls. Type it again to turn it off. | You can still drown. Add infinitestats to stop that. setgodmode 1 / 0 sets it instead of toggling. |
infinitestats |
Refills health, stamina, oxygen, food and water and keeps them full. No ammo is used from your inventory. | Not invincibility: a single hit bigger than your max health still kills. If you’re riding, it applies to the mount, not you. No effect on carry weight. |
refillstats |
Fills all stats once. | One-off, not a toggle. |
fly |
Free flight with no gravity. | walk turns it off. |
ghost |
Noclip: pass through objects and terrain. | walk turns it off. |
enemyinvisible true |
Every creature ignores you, even when you attack it. | enemyinvisible false to undo. |
leavemealone |
God + InfiniteStats + EnemyInvisible in one command. | The easiest way to explore safely. |
gmbuff |
Same as LeaveMeAlone plus a large amount of experience. | The XP part can’t be undone. |
toggleinfiniteammo |
Unlimited ammo for all your weapons. | Repeat to turn off. |
infiniteweight |
No weight limit (alias deeppockets). |
Still limited to 299 inventory slots. |
gcm |
Creative Mode (full name givecreativemode). |
See the next section. Toggle off by typing it again. |
giveengrams |
Unlocks every crafting recipe. | May lag briefly. Engrams stay until you log out and back in. |
giveengramstekonly |
Unlocks only Tek engrams. | Lasts until you disconnect. |
addexperience 1000 0 1 0 |
Adds XP to you, or to your mount if you’re riding. | You get the amount × 4 × the server’s XP multipliers, per the wiki. |
levelup MeleeDamageMultiplier 25 |
Adds 25 levels to one stat (yours, or your mount’s). | Stat names: Health, Stamina, Oxygen, Food, Water, Weight, MeleeDamageMultiplier, SpeedMultiplier, TemperatureFortitude, CraftingSpeedMultiplier, Torpidity, Temperature. |
clearmybuffs |
Tries to remove your active buffs. | Works on some buffs, not all. |
Creative Mode (gcm): what it gives you
The wiki’s Creative Mode page lists what gcm switches on: no weight limit, no crafting requirements, instant crafting, all engrams unlocked, infinite stats and god mode, and an Admin Blink Rifle in your inventory. Double-tap jump to fly. It does not hide you from creatures, so add enemyinvisible true if you want to build in peace. Running gcm again removes everything except the engrams you gained; those go when you log out and back in. On a server, gcmt toggles it for the player you’re looking at.
Skill tree commands (Ascended only)
Skill Trees arrived with the Lost Colony DLC, according to the wiki, and these commands don’t exist in Survival Evolved:
| Command | What it does |
|---|---|
giveskillpoints 3 |
Adds 3 skill points. |
giveallskills |
Unlocks every skill in the tree. |
giveskill HeavyFooted 2 |
Unlocks one skill at a set rank. Other names include HotBlooded, Bloodlust, SpiritRush, StrongBack, Telekinesis and MassProduction. |
resetskills |
Locks all skills again. |
resetskillcooldowns |
Lets you use skills again right away. |

ARK Survival Ascended item commands and spawn codes
There are three ways to give yourself items. GFI is the one to learn, because you only need part of the item’s blueprint name, not the full path:
gfi <part of name> <quantity> <quality> <blueprint 0/1>:gfi MetalIngot 100 0 0giveitem "<full blueprint path>" <quantity> <quality> 0: the long form, which never picks the wrong item- The last number:
0gives the item,1gives its blueprint instead.
GFI takes the first item whose blueprint contains your text. The wiki’s example: gfi bug gives a Tek ATV (its blueprint is “VHBuggy”), while gfi bugr gives Bug Repellant. If you get the wrong item, use a longer piece of the name.
| Item | GFI code | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Metal Ingot | MetalIngot | gfi MetalIngot 100 0 0 |
| Polymer | Polymer | gfi Polymer 100 0 0 |
| Cementing Paste | ChitinPaste | gfi ChitinPaste 100 0 0 |
| Crystal | Crystal | gfi Crystal 100 0 0 |
| Obsidian | Obsidian | gfi Obsidian 100 0 0 |
| Electronics | Electronics | gfi Electronics 100 0 0 |
| Silica Pearls | Silicon | gfi Silicon 100 0 0 |
| Element | Element | gfi Element 100 0 0 |
| Gunpowder | Gunpowder | gfi Gunpowder 100 0 0 |
| Cryopod | cryopod | gfi cryopod 10 0 0 |
| Rex Saddle | RexSaddle | gfi RexSaddle 1 0 0 |
| Flak Chestpiece | MetalShirt | gfi MetalShirt 1 0 0 |
| Fabricated Sniper Rifle | MachinedSniper | gfi MachinedSniper 1 0 0 |
| Advanced Rifle Bullet | AdvancedRifleBullet | gfi AdvancedRifleBullet 100 0 0 |
| Tek Rifle | TekRifle | gfi TekRifle 1 0 0 |
GFI codes come from each item’s page on the ARK wiki. The full lists are on the wiki’s Item IDs page. Those tables were built for Survival Evolved, which is why this guide uses GFI names rather than the old numeric item IDs.

ARK Survival Ascended dino commands: summon, spawn and tame
| Command | What it does | The catch |
|---|---|---|
summon Rex_Character_BP_C |
Spawns a wild creature at a random level, right on top of you. | The wiki warns against it for carnivores, since they glitch out of you. Use spawndino with a distance, or god mode first. |
summontamed Rex_Character_BP_C |
Spawns it already force-tamed. | The quickest way to get a mount. |
gmsummon "Rex_Character_BP_C" 150 |
Spawns a tamed creature at a chosen level. | Not cheat-tamed, so it still needs a saddle. The level is before the taming bonus. |
spawndino "Blueprint'/Game/PrimalEarth/Dinos/Rex/Rex_Character_BP.Rex_Character_BP'" 500 0 0 150 |
Wild creature at an exact level, 500 units in front of you. | Look slightly up, not at the ground. |
givedinoset 2 0 |
A full set of saddled, ready-to-ride tames (0 spawns the whole set). | Tier 2 = Rex, Spino, Paracer, Therizinosaur. Also tiers 0, 1, 3, Flyers, Mek. |
forcetame |
Instantly tames the creature in your crosshair. It can be ridden without a saddle. | The wiki warns it crashes the game or server if you use it while mounted. |
dotame |
Tames the target as if you’d tamed it normally (dossier entry, XP, sound). | Same crash warning while mounted. Only works on tameable creatures. |
setimprintquality 1 |
Sets the target bred dino’s imprint to 100%. | Range 0 to 1. |
setbabyage 1 |
Grows the target baby to adult. | Range 0.01 to 1. |
clearcryosickness |
Removes cryo sickness from the tame you’re looking at. | Also wakes it up. |
kill / destroymytarget |
Kills the target (leaves a corpse) / deletes it (no corpse). | kill doesn’t work on bosses. |
destroywilddinos |
Removes every wild creature so the map respawns them. | The wiki suggests it after an update adds new creatures. |

ARK Survival Ascended commands for FPS: what actually exists
Bing’s autocomplete is full of “ARK commands for FPS”, but Studio Wildcard has been shutting those down on purpose. The patch 41.23 notes (May 8, 2024) say the studio “disabled the use of various console commands used to gain visual advantages” and will “continue to monitor and disable more”. Patch 61.14 (February 13, 2025) disabled another one that let players see through terrain. So treat any long list of graphics tweaks you find elsewhere as unreliable. The wiki lists two that are documented:
stat fpsshows your frame rate and frame time on screen. Type it again to hide it. The wiki says it doesn’t work on console.r.shadowquality 0lowers shadow quality (0 is off, 5 is epic). The wiki marks it as working on Xbox.
For real performance gains, use the in-game graphics options instead of the console.
Do commands disable achievements in ARK: Survival Ascended?
The Steam version has 32 Steam achievements. We couldn’t find any statement from Studio Wildcard, or any rule on the wiki, saying that console commands turn them off. So the safe approach is to protect your save rather than rely on achievements staying on:
- Make a backup first. Since patch 66.0, single-player has a Save Backup option on the pause menu. The
savebackupcommand does the same thing and gets around the three-backup limit. - Prefer toggles (
god, fly, gcm) over permanent changes (addexperience, levelup, giveallskills, defeatallbosses), which you can’t undo. - Never use
forcetameordotamewhile mounted, and check blueprint paths carefully: the wiki warns that a typo inspawnexactdinocrashes the game.
Playing other survival sandboxes? Our 7 Days to Die console commands and Valheim console commands guides use the same format, and the Palworld breeding combos guide covers the other big creature-taming survival game.
FAQ
How do you enable cheats in ARK: Survival Ascended?
In single-player, just open the console (~ on PC) and type a command. On a server you control, type enablecheats followed by the admin password, then put cheat in front of each command.
Can you use commands in ARK: Survival Ascended on PS5 and Xbox?
Yes. Enable console access in the game settings, then open the console from the pause screen. Most cheats work. A few are PC-only or limited, including saveworld, kickplayer and stat fps, and setplayerpos always sends you to the map center.
Why are my ARK commands not working?
On a server, check that you ran enablecheats with the right password and added cheat before the command. Make sure you’re not on an official server. For GFI, use a longer part of the item name. In single-player, check your console key: Ascended uses ~, not the Tab key from Survival Evolved.
What is the gcm command in ARK?
gcm is short for GiveCreativeMode. It removes weight limits and crafting costs, makes crafting instant, unlocks every engram, and gives you god mode, infinite stats and flight (double-tap jump). Type it again to turn it off.
