The official event text is short. It says a mysterious structure is appearing as “a gateway to the Halloween Dimension”, that monster roars echo from inside, that powerful bosses are waiting, and that secret eggs are there to be discovered. RBLXGUIDE’s update log adds that the Update 8 patch notes on the game’s Discord ended with the same tease: a two-part Halloween event and a new dimension the following week.

Be careful with videos and sites that already list “all Halloween pets”. Nothing official has named them yet. The spooky-looking pets already in the game, such as the Darkness animals from the Angels & Demons biome or the Skeletal pets from the Extinction Egg, came from earlier updates and are not Halloween event rewards.
What to do before the event: your checklist
You have about a day. Here’s what to do first, in order.
- Claim the free Speed if you haven’t. Like the game, favorite it and join the developer’s community group for 10,000 Speed, according to the Steal an Egg wiki. New players should start with our Steal an Egg beginner guide.
- Keep climbing in Speed. Nobody knows the Dimension’s Speed requirement, and every new zone in this game has needed more than the last. Train on your best treadmill with your best trail equipped while your eggs grow.
- Make room in your pen. Secret eggs need somewhere to hatch. If your pen is full, pick the low earner you’ll swap out tonight, or buy the extra pet slot from the Update 4 base upgrade if you can afford it.
- Save some cash. Prices for anything new are unknown, so don’t drain your money on a small treadmill upgrade the night before.
- Practice the boss events. The game already runs boss fights every 30 minutes (details below). They’re the closest thing to a warm-up for the Dimension’s bosses.
- Hold your Shooting Stars. Turning a pet into a mount can’t be undone, so wait until you see the new pets.

We don’t know how the Halloween bosses will work. But two repeating boss events are live right now, and both give you something useful while you wait:

The Rift details come from the wiki’s Rift Event page. The Mecha fight and milestone are from the Update 6 notes as recorded on the wiki’s Updates page. Boss Mastery counts every boss you beat, so a few fights tonight still pay off whatever the Dimension brings.
Shooting Stars and mounts: wait before you spend
The October 10 Mounts update lets you ride your pets. According to RBLXGUIDE’s notes and Timesaver’s update guide, it works like this:
- Each mount uses up 1 Shooting Star, and you can’t undo it.
- Stars drop during a rare nightly Shooting Star event. You have to be in the server from the start of that in-game day, so server hopping won’t get you one.
- Stellaris the Star Handler sells up to 5 stars a week, and the limit resets every Saturday. That reset lands on the same day as the Halloween Dimension.
The safe move: keep any stars you have until you’ve seen what the secret eggs hatch into. If a Halloween pet turns out to be the one you want to ride, you’ll be glad you waited.

How Steal an Egg updates usually work
The game ships a new update almost every Saturday at 15:00 UTC, each one announced in advance as an official Roblox event. Here are the recent ones, from the game’s event listings:

Past events followed a pattern. The Rift and Dr. Scramble updates each added a repeating boss fight, a new currency and a shop to spend it in. The Halloween Dimension may work differently, so check the in-game update log as soon as you load in on Saturday.
When it goes live, do this first:
- Rejoin so you’re on the new version, then read the update log.
- Find the gateway structure and check whether it needs a Speed level you don’t have yet.
- Look for the secret eggs before other players camp them.
- Try the new boss fights early so you learn how they work.
Steal an Egg Halloween codes: there aren’t any
Steal an Egg has no codes and no place to redeem them. The wiki’s Codes page says so, and Destructoid’s codes list (updated October 12) has no active or expired codes. We checked again on October 16, 2026. Two things to watch out for:
- Look-alike games. Some sites list codes for Steal Animal Egg, a different Roblox game. Those codes won’t work in Steal an Egg, because Steal an Egg has nowhere to enter them.
- Fake “Halloween codes”. If a site or video asks for your password, Robux or a download in exchange for a free egg, close it. Real rewards only come from inside the game.
Watch out for the Play Store knockoffs
Steal an Egg is a Roblox experience by the verified group and Collect Rare Pets. On phones and tablets you play it inside the Roblox app. It isn’t a separate download. Standalone apps with similar names are climbing the Google Play charts right now: on October 16, AppBrain’s top new free games list (US) included “Steal an Egg: Monster Run” and “Steal Escape: Egg Speed”. Neither is the Roblox game, and the Halloween Dimension won’t be in them.
