1. Luigi’s Mansion 3
The most polished “spooky but safe” game on a Nintendo console. Luigi vacuums up ghosts floor by floor through a haunted hotel with the Poltergust G-00, and a second player can join as Gooigi to solve puzzles together. The eShop listing supports 1 to 8 players: the ScareScraper mode takes 8-player local wireless or online co-op, and the ScreamPark has team mini-games. It’s rated E and costs $59.99. Nintendo lists it as supported on Switch 2.
Worth your time if: you’re playing with kids or a partner who wants Halloween ghosts that are more silly than scary.
2. Spiritfarer
Thunder Lotus calls it “a cozy management game about dying.” You play Stella, a ferrymaster who builds up a boat, farms, cooks and fishes, and looks after spirit passengers before guiding them into the afterlife. A second player can join as Daffodil the cat in local co-op. It’s $29.99 on Steam (Farewell Edition, with all the extra content), the eShop, PS4 and Xbox. It’s rated T, and the goodbyes hit hard.
Worth your time if: you want a ghost story with heart that’s about care and grief, not fear.

3. Cozy Grove: Camp Spirit
The newest game on this list. Spry Fox’s sequel to Cozy Grove launched on July 15, 2026. A bus crash leaves you stranded on an island of ghostly spirit bears. You help them remember their pasts, craft furniture and rebuild a campsite while slowly repairing the bus. Like the original, it’s designed to be played a little each day. It costs $19.99 on Steam, Switch and Switch 2 (separate editions), PS4/PS5 and Xbox.
Worth your time if: you liked the first Cozy Grove (it’s on our best cozy games on Switch 2 list) or want something calm to check in on each evening.
4. Spirittea
A life sim set in a mountain town full of spirits only you can see. You fix up an old bathhouse: chop wood to heat the water, wash towels, and seat spirits next to their friends. Between shifts you solve their problems and get to know townspeople with their own schedules, from bug catching to karaoke. It’s $19.99 on Steam and Xbox. On the Switch eShop it’s $9.99 until October 23 at 06:59 UTC. We found no PlayStation version.
Worth your time if: you’ve played Stardew Valley to death and want the same daily rhythm with a supernatural twist.
5. Wylde Flowers
A farming sim where your character, Tara, farms by day and learns witchcraft by night: flying a broomstick, brewing potions, changing the weather and even turning into a cat. Studio Drydock says it has more than 18 hours of voice acting and seven romance options. It’s $24.99 on Steam, Switch, Xbox and PS5 (the PS5 version arrived in December 2025).
Worth your time if: you want a story-driven farm game where the witch theme is part of the plot, not just decoration.

6. Little Witch in the Woods
A pixel-art game about Ellie, an apprentice witch sent to a village in a magical forest. You gather ingredients to brew problem-solving potions, fly your broom around the forest, fill in an encyclopedia of creatures, decorate your house and befriend villagers (and their cats). It left early access on PC in September 2025, and the Switch version followed on September 16, 2026. It’s $19.99 on Steam, the eShop and Xbox.
Worth your time if: you want a gentle witch fantasy with no combat pressure and lots of small chores to tick off.
7. Costume Quest 2
The only game here where trick-or-treating is the main event. In Double Fine’s RPG, siblings Wren and Reynold’s costumes turn into hero forms in turn-based battles against candy-hating dentists, and you collect Creepy Treat Cards along the way. It’s rated E10+ and costs $14.99 on Steam, PS4 and Xbox. The original Costume Quest is $9.99 on Steam, and Steam sells both as a $19.99 bundle.
Worth your time if: you’re after a short, funny Halloween RPG to play with (or hand to) a 10-year-old.
8. Night in the Woods
A story game set in Possum Springs, a fading mining town where “leaves are falling and the wind is growing colder.” You play Mae, a college dropout cat who comes home, hangs out with old friends and slowly uncovers something strange in the woods. No farming here, just strong writing and heavy autumn atmosphere. It’s rated T and the story goes to some serious places. It’s $19.99 on Steam, Switch, PlayStation and Xbox.
Worth your time if: autumn vibes matter more to you than cute ghosts, and you like games that are mostly about characters.
9. Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted
EA and PopCap’s HD remaster of the 2009 classic came out on October 23, 2025, with new levels and secrets. The zombies are goofy, and each level is a short session of planting peashooters and sunflowers. The Steam version lists local co-op and versus. It’s $19.99 on Steam, Switch 2, Switch and Xbox. The PS Store has it for $11.99 until October 22 at 06:59 UTC, and Xbox has it for $17.99 until October 21.
Worth your time if: you want zombies that are about as scary as a garden gnome, in short sessions.
10. Strange Horticulture
An occult puzzle game where you run a plant shop in the town of Undermere. Customers ask for plants, and you identify them using your encyclopedia and clues you find while exploring, while a cat keeps you company. The story involves covens, cults and some poisons, so it’s moody rather than cute (rated E10+). It’s the cheapest pick this week: $4.79 on Steam (normally $15.99) until October 19, and $6.39 on PS4 until October 22. It’s $15.99 on the eShop and $14.99 on Xbox.
Worth your time if: you like slow deduction puzzles and a witchy, autumnal mood.
11. Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator
You run an alchemy shop, grind ingredients by hand, plot a route across an alchemy map to hit the right effects, and decide what to sell to each customer, whether you play as an honest artisan or an “occult dark master.” Its art borrows from medieval manuscripts. It’s $19.99 on Steam, Switch, Xbox and PS4/PS5, where the PS Store also offers a game trial.
Worth your time if: you like experimenting with systems and want a witchy game you can play with one hand on a mug.
12. Wytchwood
A storybook crafting adventure where you play the old witch of the woods. You gather odd ingredients like toadstools, eye of newt and “bottled fear,” brew spells, and hand out fairytale justice to greedy villagers, sometimes by turning them into frogs. It’s rated E10+ for crude humor and costs $19.99 on Steam, Switch, PS4/PS5 and Xbox.
Worth your time if: you want a gothic fairytale with a mischievous streak that’s still cozy at heart.
