Break and Steal an Egg beginner guide: free +10K Speed and Sabertooth Egg, every zone’s Speed target, best Trails and pickaxes, and the Oct 18 Halloween update.

Break and Steal an Egg is one of the hottest games on Roblox right now. On October 15, 2026 it had about 190,000 people playing at once, more than 120 million visits and a 98% like rating, according to its Roblox page. You smash eggs with a pickaxe, grab the animal inside, outrun the guard and bank it in your Pen for cash. This guide gives you the fastest start, every zone’s Speed target, what to buy first, and the time of the Halloween update and Admin Abuse on Sunday, October 18.

  • Do this first: like and favorite the game for a free +10K Speed, then join the ILGames x Eggs community for a free Legendary Sabertooth Egg.
  • Two stats, two jobs. Speed gets you into zones and home safely. Pickaxe Power breaks eggs faster. One never replaces the other.
  • Equip your Trail. Trails multiply the Speed you earn on the treadmill, but only while equipped.
  • No codes. As of October 15, 2026 the game has no redeem codes. Free rewards come from likes, favorites and the community group.
  • Next big date: the Halloween update and Admin Abuse start Sunday, October 18 at 12:00 UTC (8:00 AM ET).

What is Break and Steal an Egg?

It’s a Roblox tycoon by the verified developer group ILGames x Eggs, released on September 5, 2026. Its own description says it was inspired by Steal an Egg, the #1 game on Roblox, and the loop will feel familiar if you’ve read our Steal an Egg beginner guide. The big twist: eggs here are locked. You have to crack them open first, and that’s where your pickaxe comes in.

Here’s the loop, step by step:

  1. Train Speed on the treadmill in front of your base.
  2. Walk into a zone your Speed can handle.
  3. Break an egg with your pickaxe (left-click).
  4. Steal the animal that pops out (press E).
  5. Run it home before the zone’s guard catches you.
  6. Place it in your Pen. It now earns cash every second.
  7. Spend that cash on Trails and pickaxes, then repeat in a better zone.

Servers hold up to 7 players, so expect company. Community guides on AllThingsHow and the Break and Steal an Egg fan wiki add three rules worth knowing early. A guard only chases you after you take an animal from its zone. Dropping the animal ends the chase, though you lose that animal. And other players outside the Safe Zone can hit you with Bats to knock your animal loose, so don’t stop to celebrate halfway home.

Your first 15 minutes: what to do first

1. Claim the free +10K Speed

Like and favorite the game on its Roblox page, then hop in and find the Free Rewards spot to the right of the Trails Shop. Press Claim. According to Gameboost and the fan wiki, it pays +10K Speed. That’s already ten times what the Desert asks for.

2. Get the free Sabertooth Egg

Join the ILGames x Eggs community (it has over 4 million members). Then open the Shop in-game, scroll down to Community Rewards, type your Roblox username and press Verify. The username is case-sensitive, so type it exactly. Gameboost lists the reward as a Legendary Sabertooth Egg, a huge early boost when every other egg nearby is Common.

3. Buy the White Trail and equip it

The White Trail costs $500 and doubles the Speed you earn on the treadmill. Equip it right away. Owning a Trail does nothing if it’s sitting in your inventory, and this is the number one beginner mistake the fan wikis call out.

4. Farm Forest eggs and grab cheap pickaxes

You start with a Wooden Pickaxe (1 Power). It’s enough for Forest’s Rock and Forest eggs. When breaking starts to drag, buy the Stone Pickaxe ($80, 4 Power) and then the Iron Pickaxe ($800, 15 Power). Fill your Pen with Forest animals so cash keeps ticking while you train.

5. Claim Index rewards

The Index tracks every animal you’ve collected. Each new entry pays out Speed and Cash when you claim it, so open the Index after every new animal. Small claims stack up fast early on.

All zones and the Speed you need

Every zone has one egg rarity, a Speed target and a guard difficulty. The numbers below match across AllThingsHow (updated October 2) and the fan wiki’s zone guide.

Zone Speed needed Rarity Eggs Guards
Forest 5 Common Rock, Forest Easy
Desert 1,000 Uncommon Cactus, Bones Medium
Snowy 50,000 Rare Frozen, Yeti Hard
Candy 750,000 Epic Easter Bunny, Candy, Rainbow Extra Hard
Swamp 12 million Legendary Gooey, Tree, Lake Insane
Ocean 150 million Mythic Sea Stones, Water, Sea Demon
Hell 1 billion Divine Fallen Angel, Angel, Volcanic Impossible
Blossom 5 billion Cosmic Blossom, Bamboo, Fortune Insane
Galaxy 25 billion Secret Sun, Starry, Blackhole Brutal (three-headed hydra)

Checked October 15, 2026. Note the rarity order: Divine (Hell) sits below Cosmic (Blossom) in this game.

Two tips for climbing the table:

  • Keep a buffer. Hitting a zone’s number gets you in, but big eggs hatch heavy animals that slow you down on the way home. Train a bit past each target before your first serious steal.
  • Don’t skip zones. With the free 10K Speed you can jump straight to Desert, but Snowy (50K) and Candy (750K) are where most players stall. Farm the zone you can escape from reliably, not the one that looks coolest.

What about a tenth zone? The developer’s official event schedule on Roblox listed a “NEW BIOME” update for October 11 with the line “A new area is coming.” As of October 15, the community guides we checked had not published its Speed target or egg list, so we’ve left it out of the table rather than guess.

What to buy first: Trails vs pickaxes

Ask yourself one question after every run: what slowed me down?

  • The egg took forever to break → buy the next pickaxe.
  • I got caught on the way home, or can’t reach the next zone → buy the next Trail and train.
  • I can’t place any more animals → your Pen is full; upgrade its capacity or swap out your weakest animals.

Early on, Trails usually win. Speed unlocks better zones, and better zones mean better animals. A stronger pickaxe only helps once you can actually reach the eggs worth breaking.

Early Trails

Trail Cost Treadmill Speed multiplier
White $500 2x
Blue $7.5K 4x
Green $100K 8x
Purple $1.2M 16x
Red $17.5M 40x
Golden $250M 100x

Early pickaxes

Pickaxe Cost Power
Wooden Starter 1
Stone $80 4
Iron $800 15
Golden $20K 60
Diamond $160K 250
Strawberry $1.2M 1K
Cactus $6M 4K
Lightning $40M 15K

Prices from the fan wikis’ trail and pickaxe lists, which agree with each other (checked October 15, 2026). The full lists go up to the Moonlight Trail (10,000x, $100T) and the Celestial Pickaxe (25B Power, $20Qa), 11 Trails and 18 pickaxes in all.

A simple order that works: White Trail, Stone and Iron pickaxes, Blue Trail, then alternate between the next Trail and the next pickaxe, whichever is cheaper. The fan wiki warns against jumping from White straight to Green: Green costs more than 13 times as much as Blue ($100K vs $7.5K), and players who skip Blue tend to feel stuck.

Titanic Eggs, merging and other tricks

  • Titanic Eggs: a countdown board near the Safe Zone shows when the next one spawns, and the server gets a message naming the zone. A community tier list reports a 30-minute cycle. They hatch oversized animals from that zone but have far more health, so pickaxe Power decides who wins them. If one lands in a zone you can handle, go.
  • Merging: according to the fan wiki, three of the same animal can be merged into a heavier, higher-earning one at the merge station next to the Invite Friend NPC.
  • Break first, steal second: several guides suggest cracking a few eggs in a zone before grabbing anything, so you carry home the best animal instead of the first one.
  • Bring big eggs home only with a plan. Heavy animals earn the most but slow you down. Know your exit before you swing.
  • Skip scripts and “free egg” sites. Exploits break Roblox’s rules and can get your account banned.

Halloween update and Admin Abuse: date and time

The developer’s official event listing on Roblox, “UPDATE + Admin Abuse,” runs from Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 12:00 UTC to Monday, October 19 at 12:00 UTC. Its description reads: “Halloween update… This Sunday! Come along with us as we start this Epic halloween adventure!” The teaser art shows a headless horseman in front of a haunted castle, but no new zone, eggs or animals have been officially listed yet.

Time zone Start time (Oct 18)
UTC 12:00 PM
US Eastern (EDT) 8:00 AM
US Pacific (PDT) 5:00 AM
UK (BST) 1:00 PM
India (IST) 5:30 PM

Updates in this game have a rhythm. The official schedule shows Update 1.0 (“New Machine & Zone!”, with a new zone, a new boss and a Mystery Egg Machine) on September 27, the new biome event on October 11, and now the Halloween update on October 18. All three landed on a Sunday at 12:00 UTC.

Admin Abuse is a live session where the developers use admin commands in the game for everyone. Players report rare high-tier eggs spawning in early zones, Speed boosts and special Lucky Eggs during past sessions. That makes it the best time of the week for newer players: stay near the highest zone you can escape from and react to spawns, instead of risking a far zone you can’t get home from.

FAQ

Are there any Break and Steal an Egg codes?

No. As of October 15, 2026 the game has no redeem codes and no code box. The free rewards are the +10K Speed for liking and favoriting the game and the Sabertooth Egg for joining the ILGames x Eggs community. Codes from Steal an Egg or other egg games won’t work here.

Is Break and Steal an Egg the same game as Steal an Egg?

No. They are separate Roblox experiences by different developers. Break and Steal an Egg is made by ILGames x Eggs and says it was inspired by Steal an Egg. The big difference is the pickaxe: you have to break eggs before you can steal what’s inside.

How do you get Speed fast?

Claim the free +10K Speed, equip the best Trail you own, and train on your treadmill between runs. Claim every Index reward as soon as a new animal shows up. Each new Trail at least doubles your treadmill gains.

What is the best zone to farm?

The highest zone you can escape from every time. A safe run in Snowy beats three failed runs in Candy. Move up once your Speed sits comfortably above the next zone’s number.

When is the next Break and Steal an Egg update?

The Halloween update and Admin Abuse start on Sunday, October 18, 2026 at 12:00 UTC (8:00 AM ET), according to the game’s official event schedule on Roblox.
