On PC and Mac, cheats have no side effects on achievements. On console, EA spells out the rule: any cheat that needs testingcheats true disables Achievements and Trophies, but only in the save you used it in. Your other saves are not affected. Build mode cheats are “fair game”, EA says, so they keep Trophies and Achievements on. TechRadar notes that the console version shows a warning pop-up before cheats switch them off. So if you are chasing a Platinum, keep a separate save for cheating.

CAS full edit and trait cheats

cas.fulleditmode is the cheat behind “Sims 4 edit in CAS” searches. Enter it in Live mode, then Shift-click a Sim and choose Modify in CAS. PC Gamer points out that the console gives no confirmation message, so the cheat can look like it did nothing until you open CAS. With it you can change outfits, aspirations and traits of an existing Sim. Inherited traits and the name still can’t be changed that way.

Codes for base game skills match on PC Gamer and GamesRadar+. Pack codes come from PC Gamer’s April 2026 table, which also covers toddler skills and horse skills. For a horse, you first get its ID with sims.get_sim_id_by_name [first] [last] and add it to the end of the skill command.

Sims 4 cheats not working? Check these first

1. Press Enter after each code. EA’s own page reminds players of this; the code doesn’t run until you do.
2. Turn on testingcheats. Skill, trait, need and Shift-click cheats need testingcheats true in the current session. Load a different save and you may need to type it again.
3. Right screen, right mode. freerealestate only works on the world or neighborhood screen. Build cheats only take effect in Build mode.
4. Check the spelling and the names. Skill and career codes must be exact, and relationship cheats need both full Sim names.
5. Pack-only codes need the pack. A code from an expansion you don’t own does nothing.
6. Mods after a patch. If you use script mods, test with them turned off after a game update, since an outdated mod can break game features. This guide uses only the game’s built-in cheat console. Mods and anything that unlocks paid packs without buying them aren’t covered here; DLC unlockers are piracy.
