Halloween Part 2 runs Nov 1-5: Shiny Greavard debuts, Litwick and costumed Rowlet spawn, Mega Sableye hits Super Max, plus raids, research and UTC times.

Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 Part 2 runs from Sunday, November 1 at 10:00 a.m. to Thursday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m. local time. According to Niantic’s official Part II post, it brings Shiny Greavard to the game for the first time, swaps the wild spawns to Litwick, costumed Rowlet and Greavard, and lets Mega Sableye reach the new Super Max Mega Level. There’s also a free Timed Research worth 6 Rare Candies and a Sinistea encounter.

Everything below comes from the official Pokémon GO posts, with event times and the GO Pass reward list from Leek Duck. Checked October 29, 2026, 00:20 UTC. Niantic hasn’t published the Part 2 Field Research tasks yet, so this guide lists only what has been announced and marks what’s still pending.

Quick answer: Halloween Part 2 at a glance

  • Dates: Sun Nov 1, 10:00 a.m. to Thu Nov 5, 8:00 p.m. local. New Zealand starts first (Oct 31, 21:00 UTC); Hawaii ends last (Nov 6, 06:00 UTC).

Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 Part 2 start and end times

Part 2 runs on local time, so it starts at 10:00 a.m. wherever you are. That puts the start across almost a full day of UTC. The US clocks go back an hour early on November 1, the same morning Part 2 starts, so the US start times below already use standard time.

Region (time zone) Part 2 starts (UTC) Part 2 ends (UTC)
New Zealand (NZDT) Sat Oct 31, 21:00 Thu Nov 5, 07:00
Sydney (AEDT) Sat Oct 31, 23:00 Thu Nov 5, 09:00
Japan (JST) Sun Nov 1, 01:00 Thu Nov 5, 11:00
India (IST) Sun Nov 1, 04:30 Thu Nov 5, 14:30
Central Europe (CET) Sun Nov 1, 09:00 Thu Nov 5, 19:00

US Pacific (PST) Sun Nov 1, 18:00 Fri Nov 6, 04:00
Hawaii (HST) Sun Nov 1, 20:00 Fri Nov 6, 06:00

Part 1 ends at the moment Part 2 begins (10:00 a.m. local on November 1). Claim Part 1’s free Timed Research before then: the Part I post says its rewards (6 Rare Candies and Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet) expire at 10:00 a.m. local on November 1. Our Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 guide covers Part 1, Trick or Treat and the Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day on October 31.

Halloween Part 2 spawns and shinies

Niantic lists four wild Pokémon by name and says there are more event-themed encounters to find. We’ll only list the confirmed ones here. Fan sites have published longer spawn lists from game data, but Niantic hasn’t confirmed them.

Pokémon Where (official) Shiny? Type
Greavard Wild, GO Pass tasks, Field Research Yes, first time in GO Ghost
Litwick Wild Yes Ghost/Fire
Rowlet wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume Wild Yes Grass/Flying
Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume Wild (rare, “if you’re lucky”) Yes Ghost/Poison
Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet One-star raids Yes Electric
Sinistea wearing a bow One-star raids, Timed Research Yes Ghost

How to get Shiny Greavard

Greavard has three official sources during Part 2: wild spawns, Field Research tasks and the GO Pass. Leek Duck’s copy of the in-game GO Pass shows a Greavard encounter at Rank 45 and 10 Greavard Candy at Rank 46 (3 Greavard Candy XL on Deluxe). Wild spawns give you the most rolls at a Shiny, so pair them with the GO Pass Candy bonus once you’re past Rank 10. A Shiny Greavard evolves into a Shiny Houndstone, so keep every Shiny you catch.

Halloween Part 2 raids: one-star, Mega, five-star and Shadow

The Halloween post covers the one-star raids. The rest of the rotation comes from Niantic’s November content update on X, with start and end hours from Leek Duck. Leek Duck notes that raid bosses change at 6:00 a.m. local time. Raid Hours and Spotlight Hours run from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. local.

Raid tier Boss Dates (local)
One-star Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet, Sinistea wearing a bow All of Part 2
Mega Mega Sableye Oct 28, 6:00 a.m. to Nov 8, 10:00 p.m.
Five-star Giratina (Origin Forme) Until Tue Nov 3, 10:00 p.m.
Five-star Giratina (Altered Forme) Wed Nov 4, 6:00 a.m. to Nov 8, 10:00 p.m.; Raid Hour Nov 4, 6-7 p.m.
Shadow (weekends) Shadow Landorus (Incarnate Forme) Sun Nov 1 is its last weekend day in Part 2 (ends Nov 3)
Shadow (weekends) Shadow Tornadus (Incarnate Forme) From Nov 4 to Nov 8; the weekend days fall after Part 2

Leek Duck lists both Shadow Legendaries as weekend-only, so Halloween Sunday is your only Part 2 day for Shadow Landorus. For the best attackers against Giratina and Mega Sableye, see our Giratina Origin and Mega Sableye raid counters. In Max Battles, Niantic’s graphic has Dynamax Sableye until November 1. Leek Duck lists Dynamax Machop from November 2, with a Max Monday that day (Max Battles from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local, plus extra Power Spots). Our Max Battle Day guide explains how Max Particles and Power Spots work.

Halloween Part 2 Timed Research and Field Research

Free Timed Research

Part 2 has its own free Timed Research, and its tasks are completed automatically for everyone. The official rewards include:

  • 6 Rare Candies
  • An encounter with Sinistea wearing a bow (can be Shiny)

Open the Today view and claim the rewards before Thursday, November 5 at 8:00 p.m. local, when the research expires.

Field Research tasks (not announced yet)

Niantic says “event-themed Field Research tasks” will give encounters with event-themed Pokémon, and Leek Duck adds that Greavard is among them. As of October 29, 00:20 UTC, neither has published the specific tasks or the full encounter list for Part 2. Leek Duck’s Part 1 page now lists that part’s tasks, so expect the Part 2 list once the event goes live on November 1, starting with New Zealand. We’ll add the tasks to this guide once they’re confirmed.

Mega Sableye Super Max: how to level it up in Part 2

From Part 2 onwards, Mega Sableye is eligible for Super Max, the fourth Mega Level above Max. The official steps:

  1. Raise Sableye’s Mega Level to Max, the third level, by Mega Evolving it.
  2. Power it up with Sableye Mega Energy. Mega Evolving alone won’t take it past Max.
  3. Get that Energy from Mega Sableye raids, which run until November 8, three days after Part 2 ends.

Mega Sableye also gets an extra Charged Attack while Mega Evolved: Night Shade+, with 55 power in Trainer Battles and 160 in Raid Battles. Its power goes up with the Mega Level. According to Niantic’s Mega updates post, these extra attacks work in GO Battle League but can’t be used against Pokémon defending a Gym.

Why it suits Part 2: Niantic’s Super Max explainer says the level gives greatly enhanced CP, much more Catch Candy, Catch XP and Candy XL chance for Pokémon that share a type with your Mega, and a 24-hour rest period before you can Mega Evolve it again for free. Sableye is Dark and Ghost. Greavard, Litwick, Sinistea and costumed Gengar are all Ghost types, so a Mega Sableye boosts the Candy from most of the named Part 2 spawns. Stack that with the GO Pass’s 2× Candy and you can build up Greavard Candy quickly.

GO Pass: Halloween 2026 in Part 2

There’s no new pass for Part 2. The same GO Pass: Halloween 2026 runs from October 27 to November 5 at 8:00 p.m. local, and you have until Saturday, November 7 at 8:00 p.m. local to claim what you’ve unlocked. The two milestone bonuses apply to the whole event:

Milestone Free pass GO Pass Deluxe (US$7.99)
Rank 10 2× Candy for catching Pokémon 3× Candy
Rank 20 2× Stardust for catching Pokémon 3× Stardust

Leek Duck’s rank-by-rank list (100 GO Points per rank, with daily tasks “Catch 6 Ghost-type Pokémon” and “Catch 13 Pokémon” for 50 points each) shows the Part 2 Pokémon near the top of the free track:

  • Rank 39: Rowlet wearing a Pokémon Halloween costume
  • Rank 40: Gengar wearing a Spooky Festival costume
  • Rank 45: Greavard (Rank 46: 10 Greavard Candy)
  • Rank 49: Pikachu wearing a hat and capelet
  • Rank 50: Rotom
  • Rank 108: Spiritomb (ranks 51-107 give small Stardust rewards)

Deluxe adds the Patissier Top (Rank 15) and Patissier Pants (Rank 30), 10 Rare Candy XL and 4 Premium Battle Passes across the track. The +10 Ranks version costs US$9.99. Niantic also says to watch for extra bonus tasks on the pass during the event.
