Democratic Detonation and Servants of Freedom top the lists. All 26 Warbonds with dates, prices, Medal costs and 7.2.0 buffs; no next Warbond date yet.

Helldivers 2 now has 26 Warbonds: the free Helldivers Mobilize!, 22 Premium Warbonds at 1,000 Super Credits each and three Legendary crossover Warbonds at 1,500. Across the three ranked lists we compared, Democratic Detonation and Servants of Freedom are the safest first buys. Arrowhead has not announced the next Warbond yet, and its 2026 roadmap shows no major update in November.

This Helldivers 2 Warbond tier list puts every Warbond in one table with its release date, price, Medal cost and standout gear. It then sets out where the published rankings agree and where they split, and which buffs from patch 7.2.0 (October 20) those rankings don’t include yet. Everything was checked on October 29, 2026 UTC.

  • Buy first: Democratic Detonation (Grenade Pistol, Thermite, Eruptor, Exploding Crossbow) and Servants of Freedom (Portable Hellbomb, GP-20 Ultimatum).
  • Close behind: Cutting Edge, Chemical Agents, Siege Breakers, Exo Experts, Redacted Regiment and Steeled Veterans.
  • Newest: Ironclad Democracy (September 22) and Scope of Authority (October 20) are too new for most ranked lists. Their gear is listed below.
  • Next Warbond: no date yet. The roadmap Arrowhead posted on August 31 shows nothing major for November and Update 8.0 in December.
  • Cost: Premium Warbonds cost 1,000 SC and pay 300 SC back. Legendary Warbonds cost 1,500 SC, pay nothing back and can’t be claimed with a Warbond Token.

Helldivers 2 Warbond tier list (October 2026)

We have not played these Warbonds ourselves, so we built this tier list from three published rankings: PowerUp Gaming’s tier list (September 19, 2026), Timesaver’s buy-first guide (August 28, 2026) and Insider Gaming’s best-Warbonds list (August 2025). A Warbond ranks high here only when more than one of them backs it. Where they disagree, the table says so.

Our tier Warbond What the rankings say
Buy first Democratic Detonation S at PowerUp, #1 at Timesaver, first at Insider Gaming. It’s the only Warbond that all three put at the top.
Buy first Servants of Freedom S at PowerUp, #3 at Timesaver and in Insider Gaming’s seven picks. The pick is the B-100 Portable Hellbomb.
Strong Cutting Edge Split: #2 at Timesaver and Insider Gaming, only B at PowerUp. Patch 7.2.0 buffed its Sickle (see below).
Strong Chemical Agents S at PowerUp for gas against Terminids and the team-healing Stim Pistol. “Situational” at Timesaver.
Strong Siege Breakers, Exo Experts, Redacted Regiment All S at PowerUp. The other two lists are older than these Warbonds.
Strong Steeled Veterans #4 at Timesaver and in Insider Gaming’s seven picks (P-4 Senator, Breaker Incendiary), but only B at PowerUp.
Playstyle picks Borderline Justice, Control Group, Freedom’s Flame, Polar Patriots, Dust Devils A at PowerUp. Timesaver calls Polar Patriots and Dust Devils situational.
Playstyle picks Castellan’s Creed (Legendary) A at PowerUp for the Meltagun. Timesaver calls it good but a poor first buy, because it pays back no Super Credits.
Playstyle picks Urban Legends, Entrenched Division Urban Legends is C at PowerUp but in Insider Gaming’s 2025 list for the Anti-Tank Emplacement. Entrenched Division is B and mostly a bug-front pick.
Later Viper Commandos, Truth Enforcers, Python Commandos, Obedient Democracy Support Troopers (Halo: ODST) B or C at PowerUp. Insider Gaming’s older list liked Truth Enforcers and ODST more.
Last Force of Law, Masters of Ceremony, Righteous Revenants (Killzone) D at PowerUp. Its reasons: stun focus (Force of Law), one good gun (the R-2 Amendment in Masters of Ceremony) and free alternatives (Righteous Revenants).
Not ranked yet Ironclad Democracy, Scope of Authority Released after the newest list. See their section below.

Two of these lists came out before patch 7.2.0, and the Insider Gaming list is from 2025. The Legendary Warbonds near the bottom got direct buffs on October 20, so read their low ranks as “before the buff” until the lists are updated.

Every Helldivers 2 Warbond: release date, price and key gear

Release dates, prices and Medal totals come from each Warbond’s page on the official Helldivers 2 wiki, and we cross-checked recent ones against Arrowhead’s Steam announcements. “Medals” is the cost of every item on every page. Premium Warbonds pay back 300 SC as you unlock them, and the free Mobilize! pays back 750.

Best Helldivers 2 Warbond by role

A single ranking hides the trade-off: most Warbonds are built around one job or one enemy front. This table matches each job to the Warbond whose gear covers it. The descriptions come from Arrowhead’s announcements and the outlet lists above.

You want Best fit Why Alternative
Bug holes and fabricators without spending a grenade Democratic Detonation Timesaver’s top reason: the GP-31 Grenade Pistol clears them from the secondary slot, which frees your grenade and stratagem slots. Ironclad Democracy (P-34 Breacher missile pistol)
Anti-tank Siege Breakers EAT-411 Leveller plus the CQC-20 Breaching Hammer, which carries 10 spare charges since 7.2.0 (up from 7) Castellan’s Creed (Meltagun), Urban Legends (Anti-Tank Emplacement)
Free anti-tank for the squad Ironclad Democracy According to Arrowhead, the Surplus EAT Allocation booster gives two free EAT uses per mission Dust Devils (EAT-700 Expendable Napalm)
Objective demolition Servants of Freedom The B-100 Portable Hellbomb is a backpack stratagem Redacted Regiment (B/MD C4 Pack)
Stealth Redacted Regiment Suppressed weapons such as the AR-59 Suppressor, plus the B/MD C4 Pack for sabotage Scope of Authority (Stationary Shroud armor)
Long range Scope of Authority R-40 Sightliner primary, AMW-20 Apex and LAS-44 Nova support weapons Borderline Justice (R-6 Deadeye for Automaton weak points)
Terminid hordes and fire Freedom’s Flame Torcher, Cookout, and armor that resists fire Entrenched Division (Cremator, Gas Mortar Sentry), Dust Devils
Team support Chemical Agents The P-11 Stim Pistol heals teammates at range Control Group (A/LAS-98 Laser Sentry)
Exosuits and vehicles Exo Experts Two exosuits (Lumberer, Breakthrough) plus the MGX-42 Bullet Storm Ironclad Democracy (tank patterns, Blunt-Force Mitigation armor)
A primary that never needs ammo Cutting Edge Insider Gaming lists the LAS-16 Sickle as an infinite-ammo energy rifle, and 7.2.0 made it faster to fire and cool Servants of Freedom (LAS-17 Double-Edge Sickle)

What patch 7.2.0 changed for Warbond weapons

The 7.2.0 patch notes (October 20, 2026) came out after the newest list we used, and several of the buffs hit Warbond gear directly:

  • Legendary weapons (ODST, Killzone): Arrowhead says these guns “felt a bit weaker” because they can’t be customized. The M90A Shotgun’s damage rose from 605 to 726, the MA5C and StA-52 lost a lot of recoil, and the StA-11 SMG’s damage rose from 90 to 100. The PLAS-39 Accelerator Rifle now reloads in 2.7 seconds instead of 3.3.
  • Sickle family (Cutting Edge, Servants of Freedom): the LAS-16 and LAS-17 start firing after 0.33 seconds (down from 0.5), and heat starts dropping after 0.66 seconds (down from 1.33). The LAS-16 also builds less heat per shot.
  • Viper Commandos: the SG-22 Bushwhacker’s damage rose from 450 to 540.
  • Python Commandos: the M-1000 Maxigun now gives back movement control the moment you stop firing, and it staggers harder.
  • Siege Breakers: the Breaching Hammer carries 10 spare charges instead of 7.
  • Exo Experts and Urban Legends: flame damage per particle on the Lumberer Exosuit and the A/FLAM-40 Flame Sentry rose from 3 to 8.

ODST, Righteous Revenants, Viper Commandos and Python Commandos are the Warbonds most likely to climb when the lists are next updated.

Ironclad Democracy and Scope of Authority: where the newest Warbonds fit

Ironclad Democracy (September 22) is built around vehicles and explosives. Arrowhead’s announcement lists these items:

  • the AR-11 Arbitrator assault rifle with an underslung shotgun;
  • the GL-15 Evictor pump-action grenade launcher primary;
  • the P-34 Breacher missile pistol;
  • G-60 Anti-Tank Seeker and G-8 Immolation grenades;
  • two boosters, Surplus EAT Allocation and Integrated Extinguishers;
  • the Blunt-Force Mitigation armor passive, which cuts damage from impacts and collisions by 30% and makes you harder to knock down;
  • the first tank-exclusive patterns in a Premium Warbond.

The free EAT booster alone makes it a candidate for the Strong tier once the lists rate it.

Scope of Authority (October 20) is the sniper Warbond: the R-40 Sightliner, AMW-20 Apex, LAS-44 Nova, P-44 Mist and G-11 Caltrops. Both of its armors carry Stationary Shroud, which reduces weapon sway and detection range while you crouch or lie prone. We covered its page-by-page Medal costs in our Scope of Authority Warbond guide. It suits squads with a dedicated long-range player more than solo divers.

When is the next Helldivers 2 Warbond?

As of October 29, Arrowhead has not announced the next Warbond. The roadmap it posted on August 31 (reported by Game Rant) had this schedule:

  • September: a new Warbond. That was Ironclad Democracy, with patch 7.1.0.
  • October: Update 7.2, plus the Liberty Day event, which we covered in our Liberty Day 2026 rewards post.
  • November: no major update.
  • December: Update 8.0, with no details shared yet.

The old “every second Thursday of the month” line from the official Discord FAQ is now struck out on the wiki. Arrowhead’s help center says Premium Warbonds are released “periodically” and that Legendary Warbonds “are not released on any set schedule”. Recent Premium Warbonds were announced on Steam about a week ahead: Scope of Authority on October 13 for October 20, and Ironclad Democracy on September 15 for September 22. Expect at least that much notice before the next one.

Premium vs Legendary Warbonds: what you pay

Premium Legendary
Price 1,000 Super Credits 1,500 Super Credits
Super Credits inside 300 SC back None
Warbond Token eligible Yes No
Weapon customization Yes No (offset by the 7.2.0 stat buffs)
Schedule Periodic, announced about a week ahead No set schedule (crossovers)

The 300 SC you get back from every Premium Warbond is why the guides tell new players to start there: three Premium Warbonds return 900 SC, almost enough for a fourth. According to Arrowhead’s Warbond Token FAQ, the Super Citizen Edition and its upgrade have included a token for any one Premium Warbond since August 26, 2025. The token can’t be used on a Legendary one. Arrowhead’s refund policy covers mistaken purchases made within the last 7 days. If you’re new, our Helldivers 2 beginner tips cover Super Credit farming and early unlocks.

FAQ

What is the best Warbond in Helldivers 2?

Democratic Detonation is the only Warbond that all three rankings we compared put at the top, thanks to the Grenade Pistol, Thermite, Eruptor and Exploding Crossbow. Servants of Freedom is the next most agreed-on pick, for the Portable Hellbomb.

How many Warbonds are in Helldivers 2?

26 as of October 29, 2026: 1 Standard (free), 22 Premium and 3 Legendary. The newest is Scope of Authority, released October 20.

Do Warbonds expire?

No. Warbonds stay in the Acquisition Center permanently. You can work on several at once and spend Medals in any of them.

Are Legendary Warbonds worth 1,500 Super Credits?

Not as a first purchase, according to the guides we compared: they pay back no Super Credits and their weapons can’t be customized. Castellan’s Creed ranks best of the three for its Meltagun, and the ODST and Killzone guns were buffed in patch 7.2.0.
