Scope of Authority costs 1,000 Super Credits and about 603 Medals: Sightliner, Apex, Nova, Mist, Caltrops. Plus 7.2.0 buffs and Easy Anti-Cheat launch fixes.

The Helldivers 2 Scope of Authority Warbond went live on October 20, 2026 with patch 7.2.0 “Devoid of Liberty”. It costs 1,000 Super Credits, like every Premium Warbond, and holds five new pieces of gear: the R-40 Sightliner sniper rifle, P-44 Mist machine pistol, AMW-20 Apex anti-materiel rifle, LAS-44 Nova energy weapon and G-11 Caltrops, plus two camo armor sets with the new Stationary Shroud passive. The same patch swapped GameGuard for Easy Anti-Cheat on PC, and players link that switch to many of today’s “won’t launch” reports.

Quick answer

  • Price: 1,000 Super Credits to unlock (Arrowhead’s standard Premium Warbond price). Then you spend Medals on the items.
  • Medals to unlock everything: 603 across three pages, according to the community wiki (checked October 20, 22:30 UTC). The pages also pay back 300 Super Credits.
  • Weapons: R-40 Sightliner (primary), P-44 Mist (secondary), AMW-20 Apex and LAS-44 Nova (support weapon stratagems), G-11 Caltrops (throwable).
  • Armor: SS-33 Mimetic Marshal (light) and SS-15 Focal Point (medium). Both have Stationary Shroud: less weapon sway, and enemies spot you from a shorter range while you’re crouched or prone.
  • Patch 7.2.0: Easy Anti-Cheat replaces GameGuard, plus weapon buffs and about ten crash fixes.
  • Not launching after the update? Start with Easy Anti-Cheat’s own fixes for the exact error message (table below). If that fails, file a ticket with Arrowhead. Older GameGuard-era fix guides are out of date.

What’s in the Helldivers 2 Scope of Authority Warbond

Arrowhead first showed the Warbond in its October 13 Steam announcement, which notes that you also need the base game and some game progression to unlock it. The Medal costs and page placement below come from the Helldivers wiki. That’s community data from the first day, so treat it as a guide and check the in-game Acquisition Center.

Item Type Page Medals (wiki) What it does (per Arrowhead)
R-40 Sightliner Primary, bolt-action sniper rifle 1 35 Armor-piercing rounds with long-range precision
G-11 Caltrops Special throwable 1 35 Scatters proximity submunitions that slow and stun enemies
SS-33 Mimetic Marshal Light armor + helmet 1 see note Ghillie-style camo, Stationary Shroud passive
Mimetic Mesh Cape + player card 1 8 / 2 Cosmetic set for the Mimetic Marshal
AMW-20 Apex Support weapon (backpack-fed) 2 50 Heavy anti-materiel rifle with assisted reload
SS-15 Focal Point Medium armor + helmet 2 see note Adaptive camo, Stationary Shroud passive
Boundary Banner Cape + player card 2 25 / 7 Cosmetic set for the Focal Point
LAS-44 Nova Support weapon (energy) 3 110 Infinite ammo; charges, then fires a non-explosive thermal shot
P-44 Mist Secondary, one-handed machine pistol 3 65 Compact backup weapon for close range
Manual Ballistic Projection Emote 3 20 Cosmetic
Longshot Title 3 20 Cosmetic

Note: the wiki’s Warbond page and its armor pages give different Medal costs for the two armor sets (between 30 and 55 Medals per piece), so check the in-game price before you plan your spending. Each page also has a 100 Super Credit pickup: 7, 12 and 32 Medals on pages 1 to 3, according to the wiki.

How much does Scope of Authority cost?

There are two currencies involved. Arrowhead’s support page “What is a Warbond?” says Premium Warbonds cost 1,000 Super Credits. You can buy Super Credits or find them on missions. After that, each item costs Medals, which you earn by playing. Every Medal you spend counts toward opening the next page, whichever page you spend it on.

Cost Amount Source
Unlock the Warbond 1,000 Super Credits Arrowhead support
Every item on all three pages 603 Medals (162 + 194 + 247) Helldivers wiki
Super Credits you get back from the pages 300 Helldivers wiki

If you unlock it by mistake, Arrowhead’s refund policy only covers purchases from the last 7 days, and only if you haven’t bought anything on that Warbond yet. You get three refund requests a year.

Best items in Scope of Authority: which to unlock first

We haven’t played it, so this weighs the official descriptions against early community stats (day-one wiki pages marked “work in progress”).

  • AMW-20 Apex (page 2): probably the headline pick for Automaton and Terminid heavies. The wiki lists Anti-Tank I penetration and about 1,550 damage per shot, with a 5-round magazine and 4 spares. The catch: it’s backpack-fed, so it takes your backpack slot, and Arrowhead describes it as “far from subtle”.
  • LAS-44 Nova (page 3, 110 Medals): the most expensive item. The wiki lists it as an Anti-Tank I support weapon with unlimited ammo: about 1.6 seconds of warmup, 880 damage and 30 shots per minute. It overheats after a single shot and needs cooldown before the next one. Pick it if you hate hunting for resupply. Pick the Apex if you want damage up front.
  • R-40 Sightliner (page 1, 35 Medals): a cheap early unlock. Arrowhead pitches it as a primary sniper that balances stability and armor penetration. The wiki lists 350 damage, heavy armor penetration and a 10-round magazine at 40 rounds per minute. Early Steam forum threads include complaints about it, from “a big disappointment” to hit-registration problems, so try it on a low difficulty before you plan around it.
  • G-11 Caltrops (page 1): a crowd-control throwable that stuns whatever walks into the field.
  • P-44 Mist (page 3): one-handed, automatic and light-penetrating, according to the wiki. It’s a panic button when enemies close in on a sniper, not a main damage source.

Our suggested order, on paper: Sightliner and Caltrops first (cheap, page 1), then the Apex on page 2, then decide between the Nova and the Mist. New to the game? Start with our Helldivers 2 beginner tips.

Stationary Shroud armor passive explained

Both Scope of Authority armors share the new Stationary Shroud passive. Arrowhead says it “reduces weapon sway and detection range by mimicking foliage concealment while in the crouched or prone position”. The wiki quotes the in-game text as a 35% cut to weapon sway while aiming, with the detection bonus applying only while you stay still and crouched or prone. Arrowhead hasn’t published a figure for the detection range.

Armor Class Armor / Speed / Stamina (wiki) Best for
SS-33 Mimetic Marshal Light 50 / 550 / 125 Moving between sniper nests quickly
SS-15 Focal Point Medium 100 / 500 / 100 Front-line players who still want the sway reduction

The trade-off: the passive only pays off when you stop and shoot. Squads that keep moving will get more from passives that work at all times. One early Steam forum thread already calls the passive “worthless” for that reason.

Helldivers 2 patch 7.2.0: the main changes

The official 7.2.0 patch notes went up on Steam at 09:01 UTC on October 20. Besides the anti-cheat change, these are the balance numbers that matter:

Weapon or stratagem Change in 7.2.0
M90A Shotgun (Halo) Damage 605 to 726; durable damage 220 to 264
MA5C and StA-52 Assault Rifles Much less recoil (StA-52 vertical climb 25 to 12.5); StA-52 spare mags 6 to 7
StA-11 SMG Damage 90 to 100; ergonomics 80 to 90
PLAS-39 Accelerator Rifle Reload 3.3 s to 2.7 s; less stagger so follow-up shots hit weak spots
LAS-16 Sickle / LAS-17 Double-Edge Fires after 0.33 s (was 0.5 s); cooling starts after 0.66 s (was 1.33 s)
SG-8 Punisher / SG-225 Breaker / Spray&Pray +20% damage (Punisher 405 to 486, Breaker 330 to 396)
SG-22 Bushwhacker Damage 450 to 540
M-1000 Maxigun Instant movement after firing; stagger force 15 to 20
CQC-20 Breaching Hammer Spare charges 7 to 10
Orbital Airburst Strike Cooldown 100 to 90; tighter shrapnel cone (35 to 27 degrees)
EXO-51 Lumberer, A/FLAM-40 Flame Sentry Flame particle damage 3 to 8
Eagle Airstrike Gas Demolition strength 50 to 40 (no longer flattens structures like orbitals)

Other changes: the bug strain that spawns Bile Warriors, Spewers and Scavengers is now its own strain, controlled by the Game Masters, with its own marker when it’s active. Support weapon settings such as fire mode now persist between uses. On PC, it also reduces shader-compilation hitching. Separately, Arrowhead announced that the Supply FRV can now be unlocked with Requisition in Ship Management.

Easy Anti-Cheat in Helldivers 2: what changed

Arrowhead explained the switch in a Steam post three hours before the patch. Its FAQ says GameGuard “wasn’t as effective as it could have been”. Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) launched on October 20, along with “additional security tools” and new measures against cheat mods that had been circulating. Arrowhead says some cheaters had gone as far as manipulating the Galactic War itself. The key points from that post:

  • Mods: mods that affect other players may stop working, and some harmless cosmetic mods will need updates from their creators. If EAC blocks a non-destructive mod or tool, Arrowhead asks you to report it through its support desk.
  • Hardware: “No, there are no changes in hardware requirements”. Unlike the TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot rules in Call of Duty’s DMZ, there are no new PC security requirements here.
  • Steam Deck and Linux: Arrowhead says compatibility “remains unchanged”.

Helldivers 2 not launching or crashing after 7.2.0: fixes

Most launch problems reported in the Steam support forum since the patch fall into two groups. Some players get an error before the game opens (often Application Error 0xc0000142). Others get crashes during anti-cheat initialization or a few seconds into a mission. Arrowhead hasn’t posted a hotfix or a launch-specific support article yet (checked 22:30 UTC). Its Known Issues page, updated today, says most crash and performance problems are tracked separately and aren’t listed there.

1. Use EAC’s official fix for your error message

Message you see Official EAC fix
“Easy Anti-Cheat is not installed” In the game’s EasyAntiCheat folder, copy the productid from Settings.json. In an administrator Command Prompt in that folder, run EasyAntiCheat_EOS_Setup.exe install <productid>. echo %ERRORLEVEL% should return 0.
Any EAC error at launch Repair the service: in an admin Command Prompt, cd C:Program Files (x86)EasyAntiCheat_EOS, then EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe repair.
Error 30005 (“CreateFile failed with 32”) Reboot. If it keeps happening, add EasyAntiCheat_EOS.exe to your antivirus or Windows Security exclusions.
“Unknown file version” Verify the game files in Steam (Properties, Installed Files, Verify).
“Maximum simultaneous game instances reached!” End the hidden Helldivers 2 process in Task Manager; if it isn’t there, restart the PC.
Error 20010 Right-click the EasyAntiCheat_EOS folder, then Properties, Advanced, and untick “Encrypt contents to secure data”.
“Please unload [driver].sys” or “close [program]” EAC blocks some hardware-monitoring and RGB tools that use outdated kernel drivers. Close or update that software before launching.

The last row matters today. A Steam forum thread reports the message “please unload DBUtilDrv2.sys before starting the game”. That driver comes with Dell’s system utilities, so closing or updating the Dell software is the step EAC’s FAQ points to.

2. Check that the crash isn’t one Arrowhead already fixed

Patch 7.2.0 fixes crashes when equipping vehicle patterns in Ship Management, two crashes around SEAF shuttles, crashes from popups and ragdolls, crashes or grey screens with upscalers at some resolutions, and crashes when cycling resolution or render scale. It also lists better DirectX 12 stability. If you had one of these before, update first.

3. Community-reported fix for error 0xc0000142 (unofficial)

In the Steam support thread “Application Error (0xc0000142) on launch”, several players say leftover GameGuard files caused the error. They report that running the GameGuard uninstaller (GGuninst) from the game’s local files, then restarting the PC with Restart rather than Shut down, got the game launching. Other players in the same threads say it didn’t help, even after a full reinstall. Arrowhead hasn’t confirmed this fix. Arrowhead’s older “Error 114” support article still describes GameGuard steps, which predate the switch to EAC.

4. Still stuck? Contact Arrowhead

EAC’s FAQ says to go to the game’s developer first, and Arrowhead takes tickets on its support desk. Include the exact error text.

FAQ

Is the Scope of Authority Warbond worth it?

It’s worth it if you like long-range or stealthy loadouts: two support weapons with Anti-Tank I penetration (per the wiki), a sniper primary and two armors built around staying still. It suits squads that move fast less well, since Stationary Shroud only works while you’re crouched or prone and not moving.

How much is Scope of Authority in Super Credits?

1,000 Super Credits, Arrowhead’s standard Premium Warbond price. Unlocking every item takes about 603 Medals (community wiki), and the pages give back 300 Super Credits.

Does Helldivers 2 still work on Steam Deck and Linux with Easy Anti-Cheat?

Arrowhead says Steam Deck and Linux compatibility “remains unchanged”. A few Linux players report launch problems in the Steam forums, so check the support forum if yours won’t start.
