Games coming out December 1-6, 2026

Dune: Awakening – Blood and Ice (December 1)

This is a free expansion, not a new game. Funcom’s October 29 announcement confirms it for PC, PS5 and Xbox. It adds the Polar Sink, a frozen northern map with tundra and ice-cap biomes, and Funcom puts it at around 35 hours of progression. A cosmetics store opens the same day. Worth your time if you set Dune: Awakening aside after launch and want a reason to go back.

The Ascent Ultimate Edition on Switch 2 (December 2)

The cyberpunk twin-stick shooter comes to Switch 2 for $29.99, according to the US Nintendo store, and pre-orders are 10% off at $26.99. Worth your time if you want a co-op shooter you can play handheld.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Withered World (December 3)

Square Enix’s monster-raising RPG is the biggest new game of the month. You befriend, raise and synthesize Dragon Quest monsters, playing as Bianca and Nera. It launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, Switch and PC (Gematsu carried the announcement). It’s $59.99 on Steam and on the Nintendo store. The $94.99 Digital Deluxe Edition is listed two days earlier, on December 1. Worth your time if you like collecting creatures but want something other than Pokémon, and a free demo is already on Steam.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition (December 3)

Monolith Soft’s huge 2022 RPG gets a Switch 2 Edition. If you own the Switch game, the upgrade pack costs $9.99 on the US Nintendo store. The physical Switch 2 Edition is $69.99 on My Nintendo Store. Worth your time if you never finished it on Switch and want to play the long version on better hardware.

Rayman Legends Retold and Rayman Origins (December 3)

Ubisoft’s 3D reimagining of Rayman Legends was announced for October 1 but now launches December 3. That’s the date on Ubisoft’s official page and the PlayStation Blog. The PS5 version adds an Astro Bot costume. Every edition includes Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition, and the Standard Edition is $39.99 on Steam. It supports up to four players in couch co-op. Worth your time if you need a family-friendly holiday game for one couch.

Edge of Memories (December 3)

Nacon moved this action RPG from November 5 to December 3 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, saying a quieter period would let players “discover the game at their own pace”. An updated demo is due on Steam in early November. Worth your time if you like JRPG-style stories with real-time combat.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV (December 3)

The RTS series returns on PC, with four factions, including the Adeptus Mechanicus in their series debut. Steam lists it at $59.99, or $53.99 with the current 10% pre-order discount. Worth your time if you played the earlier Dawn of War games and want a classic-style RTS.

Professor Layton and the New World of Steam (December 10)

In Japan it costs 7,920 yen, and English is among its languages. No US price is listed yet. Worth your time if you grew up on the DS games and want a brand-new Layton mystery.

Attack on Titan 3 (December 10)

Koei Tecmo America announced December 10 for PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X|S and PC. Omega Force’s action game covers the whole story, from the Survey Corps’ beginnings to the end. Steam lists the PC version at $69.99 and shows December 9 as its date, so PC players may get it a few hours early depending on their time zone. Players with Attack on Titan 2 saves on the same console get extra in-game bonuses.

Stage Tour (December 10)

RedOctane Games launches Stage Tour, built by veterans of the original rhythm game era, on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC (Steam and Epic). Its launch announcement lists more than 90 licensed songs, Gibson guitars and up to four local players. The game is $39.99, and CRKD’s Gibson Les Paul Oxblood guitar controller is $119.99. Worth your time if you still miss Guitar Hero nights with friends.

Worth your time if you bounced off the early access campaign and were waiting for the finished game.

Later in December: the Steam Winter Sale

No big dated launches sit after December 11 so far. Valve’s Steamworks events calendar puts the Steam Winter Sale from December 17, 2026, to January 4, 2027. Several of the games above could get their first discount there. Before that, our Black Friday 2026 gaming deals hub tracks every confirmed November sale.
