Pokémon Pokopia’s second expansion, Expansion Pass Part 2: Dazzling Decorations, arrives on December 9, 2026 on Nintendo Switch 2. The official Pokémon account on X confirmed the date on November 4 and calls it “paid DLC”. It is not sold on its own: Part 2 comes with the $34.99 Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass, which already includes August’s Bubbly Basin.
The update is about dressing up, not exploring. Ditto and the Pokémon in your town get wearable accessories, and the expansion adds more Pokémon and new items. A new area is not part of it.

What’s in Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2
The Pokémon Company first showed Part 2 in the September 9 Nintendo Direct. Its press release lists sunglasses, bow ties and items that let Ditto match other Pokémon, such as a Sylveon ribbon. The November 4 announcement, quoted by Nintendo Everything, adds only that players can “dress Ditto and their Pokémon neighbors in an array of accessories,” with “more Pokémon and new items.”
The Pokémon Company hasn’t said how many new Pokémon Part 2 adds. Snubbull is wearing a bow tie in Nintendo’s official screenshots. For comparison, VGC counts 50 Pokémon in Part 1.
Do you need Bubbly Basin first?
You can’t own Part 2 without Part 1. There is one Expansion Pass, and buying it gets you all three parts. The announcement doesn’t say you have to finish Bubbly Basin first. Instead it names story requests in the base game’s Withered Wasteland that you must complete before Dazzling Decorations: “Raise the environment level!”, “Rebuild the Pokémon Center!” and Drifloon’s “Find a doll!”. You also need the Pokopia base game and the 3.0.0 update.
Anyone who buys the pass still gets the launch bonuses, according to Nintendo’s store page. They are a dynamic Ditto print recipe for blocks and wallpaper and an emailed code for 30 rare Pokémetal ingots. Redeem the code by August 31, 2027, and claim the items by September 30, 2027.

Apples to Applin event comes first
The same announcement includes a free event for all players. Apples to Applin runs from November 16, 2026 at 5:00 a.m. to December 1 at 4:59 a.m. Earlier Pokopia events used local time. Collect Syrupy Apples from Applin, trade them for apple-themed furniture, then build habitats that attract Flapple, Appletun, Dipplin and Hydrapple. The event needs version 2.0.1 or later. Our Pokopia Halloween event guide shows how the last event of this kind worked.
What it means for players
Pokopia is one of the Switch 2’s best-selling games. VGC puts it at five million copies in its first five months. Nintendo and The Pokémon Company are plainly building it into a long-running game. A cosmetics-focused Part 2 is a smaller step than Bubbly Basin’s underwater area. The store listing says $34.99 covers everything through 2027, but anyone buying the pass only for Dazzling Decorations should know it adds no new place to rebuild. What’s next
Expect the 3.0.0 patch notes and a release time closer to December 9. Part 3 is due in 2027, and Nintendo’s store page says its details “will be announced in the future.” Insider Gaming reports that the announcement puts a new town to explore and rebuild in Part 3. December 9 is now on our December 2026 release calendar, next to this month’s Switch 2 games for November.
