Disney Dreamlight Valley’s Halloween 2026 is three overlapping events, and two of them end on October 31: the Haunted Floating Festival (Haunted Mansion puzzles, running since October 7) and Trick or Treat (candy and new Halloween Town furniture, since October 14). Oogie Boogie’s Season of Scares questline runs until November 4, and you only need to start his first quest by then to keep him. When does the Disney Dreamlight Valley Halloween event end?
Gameloft has given dates for every part of the season, and the timing matters this week because the last festival day and the last candy day are the same:

Gameloft hasn’t published an exact end hour for October 31, so treat the in-game daily reset on that day as your practical deadline. The October 21 Showcase post confirms Haunting Elegance is still running alongside the new Seafaring Star Path, but gives no end date for it.
Haunted Floating Festival 2026 puzzle solutions
Enter the Floating Island through the Plaza portal or the Event tab. According to Gameloft’s festival post, the five 2025 puzzles return. The new 2026 content takes place in a house inspired by the Haunted Mansion attraction at Walt Disney World. The final piece, the Ghost Hunt, unlocked on October 18. You can’t redecorate the island, and you can’t submit DreamSnaps while you’re there.
One thing that confuses people: Gameloft’s blog numbers the new puzzles 6 (Haunted Key), 7 (Haunted Library), 8 (Release the Curse) and 9 (Ghost Hunt), with the basement as a secret extra. Guides that follow the in-game journal, like Destructoid’s walkthroughs, fold the curse into puzzle 6 and call the basement puzzle 8. Whichever numbering you see, the steps are the same.
Puzzles 6-8: the Haunted Key, the library and the curse (do these together)
All of this happens inside the purple house with the Halloween lights. The key and library puzzles depend on each other, so follow this order:
- Key fragment 1: go up the stairs at the back of the main room into the hallway and chase the Ghostly Dreamlight Fox. Destructoid counts six spots: both ends of the hallway, beside the sparkling book in the main room, near the crafting table, and two places in the storage room behind the green door. At the last one it drops the fragment.
- Key fragment 2: in the hallway, break the right-hand white lion statue with your Royal Pickaxe to get the Red Festival Key. In the storage room, open the red chest on your left (2 Jack-o’-Candles), then use the key on the locked red chest in the back corner (2 more). Light the four Unlit Jack-o’-Lanterns: next to that second chest, by the storage shelves, by the crafting station, and in the back-right corner of the hallway. The second fragment drops when the fourth one is lit.
- Craft the Repaired Haunted Key at the main-room crafting station (Events tab) and use it on the bedroom door at the end of the hallway.
- Haunted Library: pick up Boo! The Big Book of Bat Facts by the bedroom bookshelf. Each book you shelve drops the next one: bats on the animals shelf (main room), Frightening Flowers on the flowers shelf (hallway), The Chilling Cosmos on the space shelf (storage room), Terrifying Tunes on the music shelf (bedroom). Solve the Memory Orb that appears. Reward: Chomping Chest.
- Bedroom pillar: the Memory Orb image hints at four symbols, which are a spiderweb right of the bedroom door, a cat on the back of a crate in the storage room, a bat above the crafting station, and a witch hat on the hallway floor under the broken lion. Set the bedroom pillar to I Spiderweb, II Cat, III Bat, IV Witch hat. That order comes from Destructoid’s pillar guide and matches its Haunted Key walkthrough.
- Release the Curse: pick up the Lost Magic Page and place it in the Grimoire in the bedroom. Reward: Decorative Magic Seal, an animated rug.
The bedroom pillar is not the same puzzle as the Combination Pillar outside, even though the tiles look identical. If your answer isn’t working, check which pillar you’re standing at.
The secret basement
Once the steps above are done, break the marble lion holding a golden key to the right of the Grimoire. Pick up the Eerie Basement Door Key, go outside, and open the door on the right side of the house. The red chest inside gives the Eerie Basement Door furniture item, according to Destructoid’s basement guide.
Puzzle 9: Ghost Hunt (unlocked October 18)
Gameloft describes this one as finding 10 ghosts and photographing them. Players found that it starts from a sparkling disposable camera in the house’s first room, next to a small end table with Night Thorns. Destructoid says the ghosts are all inside that house. Each ghost you photograph vanishes, and after the tenth a pouch drops near you with the Ghost furniture piece.

With five days left, puzzles 1 and 3 are the real deadline risk. The fox needs four separate days, and the tree needs 45 items that respawn slowly. If you haven’t started them, do it today.
DDV Trick or Treat 2026: how to get candy fast
From Gameloft’s Trick or Treat post:
- Candy bowls: red, purple and green bowls spawn in the Plaza, two of each color every 24 hours from October 14 to 30, and two of each color every hour on October 31. Each bowl gives 2 candy, and at most 5 bowls of a color can be out at once.
- New door-to-door Trick or Treat: once per day, look for a lit Jack-o’-Lantern outside the homes of Mickey Mouse, WALL-E, Daisy, Stitch, Mike Wazowski and Jack Skellington. Each visit gives 5 Green, 5 Red and 5 Purple Candy and resets daily.
- Haunted Well: with the Forest of Valor unlocked, open the special chest in the Plaza and spend candy on the puzzle to unlock the Haunted Well.
Six doors a day give 90 candy, far more than the bowls do. Halloween Day is the only time the bowls become a big source.
Halloween furniture: every reward and recipe
The new Sweet n’ Scary achievement counts your door-to-door visits and unlocks Halloween Town crafting recipes:

The math matters here. If you visit all six homes every day, you reach 20 visits in four days. If you’re starting today (October 26), you can still reach the Mausoleum by October 29 or 30. If you only visit one or two homes a day, you won’t make it.
Other Trick or Treat rewards come from achievements: the Happy, Mischievous and Friendly Jack-O’-Lanterns (Sugar Rush), the Mickey Mouse Pumpkin (Trick or Treat), the Pumpkin Stack (Stockpiling Pumpkins), the Green Trick-or-Treater’s Bounty (A 3-Course Halloween Meal) and the Purple Trick-or-Treater’s Bounty (Villainy Wears Many Masks). If you didn’t have the Mickey’s Halloween Candy Bowl recipe yet, Gameloft mailed it at the start of the event, so check your mail.
The Floating Festival adds the Clawed Foot Tub, Haunted Festival Dress, Terror-rific Tree, Black Cauldron and Haunted Armor (returning), plus the Chomping Chest, Decorative Magic Seal, Ghost and Eerie Basement Door (new).

Oogie Boogie and Season of Scares: what’s left
The official Season of Scares schedule releases one quest a week. You need the Peaceful Meadow, Scrooge McDuck’s Store and Chez Remy unlocked, and the questline starts from the mirror in Scrooge’s Store.
- September 23: A Halloween Invasion
- September 30: The Oogie Boogie Contract
- October 7: The Ghost in the Portrait

The rule that matters is the November 4 cutoff. Start the first quest before then, and you can finish the rest whenever you like. Gameloft says that if you miss it, Oogie Boogie returns “around Halloween next year”. If you got stuck early, the October 8 hotfix fixed the Lucky Wheel prize not updating “A Halloween Invasion” and ghosts staying in Mickey’s House and Merlin’s Library after “The Oogie Boogie Contract”.
The Season of Scares update also added Decoration Preset codes (valid for 14 days), the Clear Biome tool, and a Premium Shop with the Evil and Good Witch Bundle and a Lucifer Companion Bundle. These are worth a look if you’re redecorating for Halloween, but none of them are needed for the free event rewards.
