BitLife Ribbons List: All 40 and How to Get Each One

Cartoon gravestone in a twilight cemetery decorated with six colorful award ribbons showing a brain, camera, cash, sleeping face, globe and gift
Written by Nora

All 36 regular and 4 secret BitLife ribbons with the condition for each, the money and prison thresholds that decide between them, and when each was added.

There are 40 BitLife ribbons: 36 regular ones that show in your Ribbons list from the start, and 4 secret ones (Model Bitizen, Teammate, Bandit and Big Boss) that stay as question marks until you earn them. That count comes from the BitLife wiki’s Ribbons page, last edited September 13, 2026. Every life ends with one ribbon on the gravestone. Here is every ribbon, what it asks for, and which ones block each other.

Quick answer

  • 40 ribbons in total: 36 regular plus 4 secret (Model Bitizen, Teammate, Bandit, Big Boss).
  • Easiest: Wasteful (tap Surrender), Lazy (reach 50 without ever having a job), Mooch (ask for money 10+ times and never give any) and Mediocre (live an ordinary life).
  • The money ladder: Successful at £250,000+, Rich from $2.5 million to just under $20 million, Loaded at over $20 million.
  • Locked to a purchase or character: Tarzan needs Bitizenship (exotic pet dealer); Cat Lady needs Bitizenship or a house (otherwise three cats max); Barbie Girl and Cat Lady are female-only, Family Guy and Tarzan male-only; Teammate needs a Tucson or Miami birth.
  • Still current: as of November 6, 2026, the official FAQ still describes ribbons, the BitLife 3.26 App Store listing shows a ribbon on its gravestone screenshot, and no Candywriter patch note since 2020 adds or removes one.

How BitLife ribbons work

Candywriter’s BitLife FAQ says a ribbon is awarded at the end of each life and “reflects the unique accomplishments (or lack thereof!)” of that character, such as Famous for a movie star. Your collected ribbons are in the game’s Main Menu (the wiki adds that unearned ones are greyed out). The same FAQ warns that deleting and reinstalling the app wipes earlier game data, ribbons included.

You get one ribbon per life, and the in-game lines are only short hints. The conditions below come from the community-run wiki, so treat the numbers as player-tested thresholds, not official rules. Many ribbons overlap; the section after the table covers those clashes.

Is every BitLife ribbon still in the game?

Yes, as far as Candywriter’s own material shows (checked November 6, 2026 UTC):

  • The App Store listing (version 3.26, October 22, 2026) still shows a gravestone with the Famous ribbon.
  • The official FAQ still has its “What are Ribbons?” answer.
  • The 2026 patch notes (July, August, October) make no ribbon changes.
  • Candywriter’s patch notes, collected on the wiki’s Updates page, add up to exactly 40 ribbons by version 1.34 (April 2020). None of the later notes there (through mid-2025) mention removing one.

We haven’t played the game, so this is a check of Candywriter’s own material, not of each in-game screen.

All 40 BitLife ribbons and how to get each one

In-game lines and difficulty ratings are as the wiki records them. For the few violent or adult ribbons we give the requirement only.

Ribbon In-game line How to get it Difficulty
Academic Complete a postgraduate education Finish graduate school or another postgraduate school (law, medical, business and so on). Study harder every year; read books from 6, visit the library from 12. Easy
Addict Die with addictions Die with at least two addictions and never go to rehab. Keep gambling winnings under 1 million (Highroller) and clubbing under 10 nights (Rowdy). Extreme
Barbie Girl Go under many knives As a female character, get many plastic surgeries. A botched one (except Botox or a face lift) rules it out. Easy
Cat Lady Be a spinster, surrounded by felines As a female character, own at least 30 cats over your life and fewer than 5 pets of any other species. Varies
Cunning Practice extreme Machiavellianism Escape prison once and never get caught again. The wiki’s route: escape, then gender reassignment surgery; emigrating or a name change helps. Medium
Deadly Be responsible for the deaths of others Your character must be responsible for at least five deaths. No route here. Hard
Family Guy Be an honest, loving father Male character: one spouse, 2+ children, time with them yearly for 30+ years, no prison, no abandoned kids or pets, under 2.5 million. Varies
Famous Achieve fame in life Reach a fame job (movie star, singer, model, author, politician and more) or live as royalty. Routes are in our guide to becoming famous in BitLife. Hard
Fertile Spawn a lot of off-spring Twice your number of children plus your grandchildren must reach at least 15 (the wiki’s examples: 5 children and 5 grandchildren, or 2 and 11). Eight children is always enough on its own. Medium
Generous Gift well and often Give at least 30 gifts over your life and avoid arguments. Medium
Geriatric Live for a very long time Live to 120+. Cure illnesses at once; keep happiness at 100% before each age-up after 100. Medium
Globetrotter Travel or emigrate to many countries Visit at least 20 countries through vacations, honeymoons or emigrating. Stay under 2.5 million. Medium
Gold Digger Get rich by marrying rich Never hold a job, marry a wealthy partner without signing a prenup, and get more than 1.5 million through divorce or inheritance. Hard
Hero Save a life or die nobly Step in during an emergency, or save a choking relative with the Heimlich manoeuvre. Dying while saving someone also counts. Luck-based
Highroller Earn a lot of money gambling Win 1 million or more in lifetime gambling winnings at the in-game casino or racetrack, and stay under 20 million. Luck-based
Houdini Escape from prison many times Escape prison at least 10 times. Juvenile prison escapes count. Maze tips are in our BitLife prison escape guide. Extreme
Influencer Enjoy the life of a social media star Become a social media star: get verified on every platform, with about a million followers. Hard
Jailbird Experience several stints in prison Serve two or more separate sentences. A few escapes are fine as long as you stay under 10. Easy
Lazy Live an idle life Live to at least 50 without ever having a job or joining the military. Keep smarts above 10%. Extremely easy
Loaded Die insanely wealthy Die with a net worth over 20 million. Generations, inheritances and heirlooms all add to it. Hard
Lustful Be extremely promiscuous The wiki puts it at 20 or more partners. No route here. Easy
Mediocre Be completely ordinary Live an unremarkable life: no high-paying job, no stat grinding. Don’t just tap Age over and over, or you’ll get Lazy instead. Extremely easy
Monopoly Buy houses and sell houses Flip houses: sell at least 10 and make over 1 million in profit (the wiki suggests aiming for 2 million). Exorcists can flip haunted houses. Hard
Mooch Ask of others and never give back Ask your relationships for money at least 10 times, and never give money to anyone. Very easy
Movie Buff Dedicate yourself to theater Watch at least 20 films at the movie theater over your life. Without Bitizenship, each visit needs an ad. Easy
Rich Die with a high net worth Die with a net worth of at least 2.5 million but under 20 million. Strategies are in our guide to getting rich in BitLife. Medium
Rowdy Live a life of debauchery Go clubbing at least 10 times, throw house parties and argue back when the neighbours complain. An addiction isn’t required. Medium
Scandalous Spend a lot of time in prison Serve at least 5 years in prison without escaping. Easy
Stupid Live a dumb, idle life Keep smarts below 10% and never improve them: drop out, skip work and pick the poor choices. Medium
Successful Live a balance(d), honest life Net worth £250,000+ (the wiki’s figure) but under 2.5 million, live to 65+, no prison, no addictions at death, good karma. Easy
Tarzan Bond with exotic animals As a male character, own at least 20 exotic pets from the exotic pet dealer (Bitizenship only), with no debts and under 2.5 million. Varies
Thief Steal from others, frequently Pickpocket at least once, steal at least one car and burgle at least one house, for 10+ theft points in total (cars and burglaries count double). Avoid serving 5 years. Varies
Unlucky Die young and unfortunately Die before 30 from an illness or a random disaster. A fatal lightning strike counts at any age. Luck-based
Veteran Serve a distinguished career in the military Clear the deployment minefield 3+ times, reach the top rank (General, Sergeant Major or Admiral) and retire at 62. Very hard
Wasteful Fall short of your potential Tap Surrender at the bottom of Activities. Execution before 60, or dying in debt with smarts and looks averaging over 50%, also gives it. Easiest
Wicked Be very cruel to others Repeated cruelty, at least 5 times, such as abandoning children or pets. No route here. Medium
Model Bitizen (secret) Live an amazing life Compliment people, spend time with your children and give money at least 10 times each; net worth 50,000+, karma 50%+, and never do anything negative. Extreme
Teammate (secret) Become an app developer Be born in Tucson or Miami, USA, major in Computer Science or Information Systems, then work as an App Developer or App Tester for BitLife or Candywriter. Easy
Bandit (secret) Live like an outlaw of old Pull off a successful Train Robbery. Don’t change your device’s clock to force the timing. Luck-based
Big Boss (secret) Finish your business career on top Go to Business School, work a corporate job, climb past Assistant Vice President to CEO, and have a net worth over 20 million. Hard

Money amounts follow your character’s local currency (the wiki writes dollars/euros/pounds). Successful is the one ribbon the wiki states in pounds.

Why you got the wrong ribbon: the overlaps

These clashes, from the wiki’s notes, explain most surprise ribbons:

If you aimed for Watch out for The dividing line
Successful, Rich Rich, Loaded Successful has a floor of £250,000, Rich runs from 2.5 million to under 20 million, and Loaded is over 20 million
Jailbird Scandalous, Houdini, Cunning 2+ sentences = Jailbird; 5+ years served = Scandalous; 10+ escapes = Houdini; one escape and never caught again = Cunning
Lazy Stupid, Mediocre Lazy needs smarts above 10% and no job ever; tapping Age with low smarts gives Stupid
Addict Rowdy, Highroller 10+ nights out clubbing tips it to Rowdy; 1 million+ in gambling winnings tips it to Highroller
Model Bitizen Family Guy, Fertile, Hero, Geriatric, Loaded The wiki suggests a female character (Family Guy is male-only), fewer than 8 children, no rescues, dying before 120 and staying under 20 million
Unlucky Hero, Wasteful A death while saving someone or on a minefield deployment gives Hero; an execution gives Wasteful
Big Boss Loaded Both need over 20 million; Big Boss also needs the CEO career (the wiki doesn’t say which wins when you qualify for both)

Which BitLife ribbons to collect first (our route)

Our suggested order, fastest first, luck-based last:

  1. Quick ribbons: Wasteful, Lazy and Mooch.
  2. Single-goal lives: Mediocre, Movie Buff, Academic, Barbie Girl, Jailbird and Scandalous.
  3. Money and travel: Globetrotter and Successful under 2.5 million, then Rich, then Loaded. An heir with an inheritance makes Loaded and Big Boss easier.
  4. Family lives: Fertile, Family Guy and Generous, then Cat Lady and Tarzan once you have a house (and Bitizenship for Tarzan).
  5. Long hauls: Geriatric, Veteran, Monopoly, Influencer, Famous and Teammate.
  6. Last: Model Bitizen (one bad choice ruins the life), Houdini, and the luck ribbons Hero, Unlucky, Highroller and Bandit.

Many of these lives overlap with achievements and challenge goals. Pair this list with our BitLife achievements list and our BitLife challenges guide so one life pays out more than once.
