All 100 Gold Skulltulas in Ocarina of Time on Switch 2, sorted by area with the items each one needs, plus every reward from 10 to 100 tokens.

There are 100 Gold Skulltulas in the Ocarina of Time remake on Switch 2, the same total as the original. Each one you kill drops a token, and the cursed family in Kakariko Village’s House of Skulltula pays out at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 100 tokens. The 20-token reward is new: the Echo Gem, which points you toward the Skulltulas you haven’t found yet.

This checklist of Ocarina of Time Gold Skulltula locations combines the only full post-launch list, Nintendo Life’s guide (Ollie Reynolds), with the 11 area guides VGC (Andy Robinson) published on November 5. Where they disagree, we say so. Checked November 6, 2026, 09:30 UTC, the day after the Ocarina of Time Switch 2 launch.

Quick answer

  • Total: 100 Gold Skulltulas. By Nintendo Life’s list, 44 are in the ten dungeons (Ice Cavern and Bottom of the Well included) and 56 are out in the world.
  • Rewards: Adult’s Wallet (10), Echo Gem (20), Giant’s Wallet (30), Bombchu (40), a Piece of Heart (50) and 200 Rupees every visit (100).
  • Bring: Bottle Bugs for 10 soft-soil spots, the Boomerang or Hookshot for many night spawns, and the Scarecrow’s Song for one Skulltula each in Dodongo’s Cavern and the Forest, Fire, Shadow and Spirit Temples.
  • Missable? No. Nintendo Life says every one can still be collected after you finish its dungeon.

Ocarina of Time Gold Skulltula rewards

Claim each reward at the House of Skulltula in Kakariko Village. Nintendo’s own pages for the remake (the US store page and the Japanese official site) don’t list the rewards, so this table follows Nintendo Life.

Tokens Reward Notes
10 Adult’s Wallet The first wallet upgrade
20 Echo Gem New in the remake: shines and vibrates near Gold Skulltulas
30 Giant’s Wallet The second wallet upgrade
40 Bombchu Nintendo Life suggests one for the Water Temple bomb wall (#83)
50 Piece of Heart One of the 36 in our Ocarina of Time heart pieces list
100 Unlimited money 200 Rupees (a Gold Rupee) on every visit

Nintendo Life’s advice is to aim for 50, since that’s the heart piece. By the time you reach 100, endless Rupees don’t do much for you.

All 100 Ocarina of Time Gold Skulltula locations at a glance

The game doesn’t number Gold Skulltulas, so we number them by region. Many outdoor ones only appear at night.

Area Gold Skulltulas Needs
Kokiri Forest 3 Bottle Bug, Hookshot
Inside the Deku Tree 4 Slingshot, Deku Stick
Lost Woods and Sacred Forest Grove 4 Bottle Bugs, Magic Beans, Hookshot
Forest Temple 5 Hookshot, Scarecrow’s Song
Hyrule Field 3 Bombs
Hyrule Castle Market, Hyrule Castle, Ganon’s Castle grounds 4 Song of Storms, Hookshot
Lon Lon Ranch 3 (VGC) / 2 (Nintendo Life) Boomerang
Kakariko Village and Graveyard 8 Slingshot, Hookshot, Boomerang, Bottle Bug
Bottom of the Well 3 Boomerang, Lens of Truth, Deku Stick
Shadow Temple 5 Lens of Truth, Longshot, Scarecrow’s Song
Death Mountain Trail, Goron City, Death Mountain Crater 8 Bombs, Megaton Hammer, Bottle Bugs
Dodongo’s Cavern 5 Bombs, Slingshot, Scarecrow’s Song
Fire Temple 5 Song of Time, Hookshot, Megaton Hammer
Zora’s River, Domain and Fountain 8 Boomerang, Hookshot, Silver Gauntlets
Jabu-Jabu’s Belly 4 Boomerang
Ice Cavern 3 Hookshot
Lake Hylia and Lakeside Laboratory 5 Bottle Bug, Longshot, Iron Boots
Water Temple 5 Iron Boots, Longshot, Bombs
Gerudo Valley, Fortress, Haunted Wasteland, Desert Colossus 10 Cucco, Bottle Bugs, Longshot, Magic Beans
Spirit Temple 5 Boomerang, Song of Time, Longshot

Where the two guides differ: Nintendo Life lists four Zora’s Fountain Skulltulas, but two of its entries describe the same tree at the south end. VGC lists three for the Fountain and a third Lon Lon Ranch Skulltula that Nintendo Life leaves out. Count VGC’s Lon Lon Ranch one and drop the repeated tree, and the list still comes to 100.

How to find the last few: the Echo Gem

The Echo Gem replaces the N64’s Stone of Agony and the 3DS’s Shard of Agony. According to Nintendo Life, it now tracks Gold Skulltulas: it shines and vibrates when one is near, and the closer you get, the faster it pulses. You get it at 20 tokens, so it pays to clear the easy early ones first: Kokiri Forest, the Deku Tree, Kakariko at night and the soil patches. Nintendo Life says Bottle Bugs are easy to find around Lon Lon Ranch if you cut the grass and hedges. If you want harder fights between Skulltula runs, the Hall of Fallen Foes has timed boss rematches.
