- A remaster diary covering the game’s artwork
- The soundtrack
- A preview of a Thief: The Dark Project novel
Physical copies for PS5 and Switch 2 are distributed by Clear River Games, according to Gematsu. Push Square lists three physical versions on PS5: standard, steelbook and a Deluxe Trapezoid edition. What’s new in Thief: The Dark Project Remastered
Nightdive rebuilt the game in its own KEX Engine. The official store description lists these upgrades:
- All 12 original missions, plus the 3 extra missions and five new enemy types from 1999’s Thief: Gold
- Visuals up to 4K at 120 frames per second
- Improved textures, models and animations, plus small fixes to the original level design
- Modern controller support with a weapon and item wheel, rumble and motion/gyro controls
- A mission selector for replaying any completed mission
- Built-in support for custom campaigns, which opens up the community’s fan-made missions
- Trophies and achievements, plus a Vault of behind-the-scenes material

The Tarnished Mirror: a new four-mission campaign
The biggest addition is The Tarnished Mirror, which is included in the remaster. GOG’s listing describes it as a brand-new, original four-mission campaign set after the events of The Dark Project. Garrett is back to small-time jobs while The City goes through political upheaval, until the theft of a Precursor hand-mirror pulls him into a conspiracy.
Push Square says the press release calls the campaign a narrative bridge to Thief 2: The Metal Age. According to that release, it was made by the creators of the fan expansion Thief: The Black Parade. The release calls it a rare case of Nightdive and Eidos-Montréal “welcoming a community creation directly into official canon.” Nightdive’s new trailer, posted on its YouTube channel, shows the campaign:
