Sony has indefinitely delayed the Pulse Elevate wireless speakers, which were due on November 12, 2026, saying it found “a production issue” during quality testing. The company gave no new release date. The update went up on November 6 on the PlayStation Blog’s Pulse Elevate post, six days before the speakers were meant to ship.
Here is what Sony wrote in full: “As part of our ongoing quality testing of Pulse Elevate speakers, we have identified a production issue with the product and have made the decision to delay the launch. The additional time will allow us to ensure the product will deliver the experience we intended for our players. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience and understanding. We look forward to bringing Pulse Elevate to players soon.”

What the speakers are
Pulse Elevate is the first wireless speaker set from Sony Interactive Entertainment. Sony revealed it at State of Play in September 2025 as a desktop companion to its Pulse Elite headset and Pulse Explore earbuds. According to Sony’s original announcement, each speaker has a planar magnetic driver plus a built-in woofer, and a microphone with AI-enhanced noise rejection sits in the right speaker. They connect through a PlayStation Link USB adapter (USB-C compatible) for PS5, PC, Mac and PlayStation Portal, and also support Bluetooth. A built-in rechargeable battery lets them travel with a Portal or a phone.

Review units were already out
Push Square reports that several outlets and influencers received review units earlier this week, and that Push Square itself got a pair. Sony’s statement does not link the delay to those units, and it has not said what the production issue is.
Second delayed Sony peripheral this year
Push Square draws a parallel with the PlayStation FlexStrike arcade stick, which it says was due on August 6 and was postponed indefinitely. According to Push Square, Sony cited “unexpected production delays” at the time and has not given an update since. Kotaku makes the same comparison and says the fight stick has still not shipped or received a new date. That makes Pulse Elevate the second Sony accessory this year to be pulled with no replacement date.
For players, the practical effect is limited: the speakers are an optional extra, and nothing about PS5 gameplay depends on them. For Sony, it is an awkward look for a hardware line it is still expanding: pre-orders for its transparent Prism Collection of PS5 accessories open on November 10 (see our PS5 Prism Collection price and design guide). On the business side, our PS5 sales and Sony earnings report covers where the platform stands, and our piece on Ken Kutaragi’s comments on PlayStation’s disc exit gives more context on Sony’s hardware direction.
What’s next
Sony says only that it looks forward to bringing Pulse Elevate to players “soon”. Watch the PlayStation Blog post, which Sony is updating in place, for a new date or word on pre-orders. We will update this article if Sony announces either.
