Crowned Zacian is weak to Fire and Ground, Crowned Zamazenta to Fighting, Fire and Ground. Counters, budget picks, 100% IV CP and Raid Hours for Nov 9-13.

Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta take over Pokémon GO’s five-star raids during the Into the Wild event, from Monday, November 9 at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, November 13 at 8:00 p.m. local time, according to the official Pokémon GO event post. Both are weak to Fire and Ground, and Crowned Shield Zamazenta is also weak to Fighting, so Fire-types are the best Crowned Zacian counters and the safest picks against Zamazenta too. The counter tables below come from Pokebattler’s raid simulations, checked on November 6, 2026 at 14:31 UTC.

Quick answer

  • Raid dates: Mon Nov 9, 10:00 a.m. to Fri Nov 13, 8:00 p.m. local time, both bosses in five-star raids.
  • Raid Hours: Crowned Sword Zacian on Monday, Nov 9, and Crowned Shield Zamazenta on Tuesday, Nov 10, each 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. local.
  • Crowned Zacian weakness: Fire and Ground (160%). It resists 11 types, and Dragon barely scratches it (24.4%).
  • Crowned Zamazenta weakness: Fighting, Fire and Ground (160%).
  • Top Crowned Zacian counters: Mega Delphox, Primal Groudon, Mega Chandelure, Shadow Reshiram. Budget: Chandelure, Cinderace, Skeledirge, Garchomp.
  • Top Crowned Zamazenta counters: Mega Mewtwo X, Mega Delphox, Mega Blaziken, Mega Lucario. Budget: Lucario, Volcarona, Chandelure, Cinderace.
  • 100% IV catch CP: 2,188 CP, or 2,735 CP weather boosted (the catch is the Hero of Many Battles form, see below).
  • Shiny: yes, both can be Shiny, per the official post. No odds are published.

Crowned Zacian and Zamazenta raid schedule

Raids run on local time, so each time zone gets the bosses at its own 10:00 a.m. New Zealand starts first. The UTC column shows when that is for a few common zones (US clocks are already on standard time).

What Local time Example times in UTC
Five-star raids start (both bosses) Mon Nov 9, 10:00 a.m. 21:00 UTC Nov 8 (Auckland), 10:00 UTC (London), 15:00 UTC (New York), 18:00 UTC (Los Angeles)
Crowned Sword Zacian Raid Hour Mon Nov 9, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. 18:00 UTC (London), 23:00 UTC (New York), 02:00 UTC Nov 10 (Los Angeles)
Crowned Shield Zamazenta Raid Hour Tue Nov 10, 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. 18:00 UTC (London), 23:00 UTC (New York), 02:00 UTC Nov 11 (Los Angeles)
Raids end Fri Nov 13, 8:00 p.m. 20:00 UTC (London), 01:00 UTC Nov 14 (New York), 04:00 UTC Nov 14 (Los Angeles)

The Remote Raid limit goes up to 30 from November 9 to 13, and there’s no limit at all on November 14 and 15, the official post says. Three-star raids feature Druddigon and Orthworm. The rest of the event (Dynamax Regidrago, the GO Pass and its US$14.99 Deluxe tier, Max Battle days) is in our Into the Wild 2026 event guide, and the weekly raid rotation is on our Pokémon GO raids this week page.

Crowned Sword Zacian weakness and resistances

Crowned Sword Zacian is Fairy/Steel. That typing gives it just two weaknesses and a long list of resistances, according to Pokémon GO Hub’s database.

Attack type Damage vs Crowned Zacian
Fire, Ground 160% (super effective)
Fighting, Steel, Water, Electric, Ghost 100% (neutral)
Dark, Fairy, Flying, Grass, Ice, Normal, Poison, Psychic, Rock 62.5%
Bug 39.1%
Dragon 24.4%

Pokebattler lists the boss’s fast attacks as Air Slash or Metal Claw, and its charged attacks as Play Rough, Close Combat or Giga Impact. Fire-types resist both Play Rough and Metal Claw, which is why they fill the top of the rankings. The one move to watch is Close Combat: it hits Fire-types with a Rock or Steel half, such as Hisuian Arcanine, Heatran and Rhyperior, super effectively.

Best Crowned Zacian raid counters

This table follows Pokebattler’s overall ranking for level 40 attackers, no weather, and the boss’s random moveset. Moves marked “legacy” need an Elite TM or an event; PvPoke’s open game master lists them as elite moves.

# Counter Fast attack Charged attack Type hit
1 Mega Delphox Fire Spin Mystical Fire+ (Super Max) or Blast Burn (legacy) Fire
2 Primal Groudon Mud Shot Precipice Blades (legacy) Ground
3 Mega Chandelure Fire Spin Overheat Fire
4 Shadow Reshiram Fire Fang Fusion Flare (legacy) Fire
5 Blacephalon Incinerate Mind Blown (legacy) Fire
6 Shadow Heatran Fire Spin Magma Storm (legacy) Fire
7 Mega Charizard Y Fire Spin Blast Burn (legacy) Fire
8 Mega Blaziken Fire Spin Blaze Kick Fire
9 Shadow Groudon Mud Shot Precipice Blades (legacy) Ground
10 Shadow Chandelure Fire Spin Overheat Fire
11 Mega Garchomp Mud Shot Earth Power (legacy) Ground
12 Reshiram Fire Fang Fusion Flare (legacy) Fire

Moves with a “+” are the extra Charged Attack that Megas eligible for Super Max Mega Level can use while Mega Evolved, according to Pokémon GO’s Halloween Part II post. You reach Super Max by spending that Pokémon’s Mega Energy after it hits Max level. If your Mega Delphox isn’t there yet, Blast Burn was Pokebattler’s next-best moveset. Mega Mewtwo X and Y also make Pokebattler’s top 15, but they deal neutral damage here, so we left them out.

Budget Crowned Zacian counters (no Megas, Shadows or Legendaries)

Counter Fast attack Charged attack Note
Chandelure Fire Spin Overheat Best non-legendary pick

Volcarona Fire Spin Overheat Fast, fragile
Hisuian Arcanine Fire Fang Flamethrower Takes super-effective Close Combat
Rhyperior Mud Slap Drill Run Ground pick, weak to Metal Claw and Close Combat
Blaziken Fire Spin Blaze Kick Fire option, faints often
Delphox Fire Spin Blast Burn (legacy) Solid filler
Hisuian Typhlosion Ember Overheat Solid filler

Crowned Shield Zamazenta weakness and resistances

Crowned Shield Zamazenta is Fighting/Steel. Pokémon GO Hub lists three weaknesses and nine resisted types.

Attack type Damage vs Crowned Zamazenta
Fighting, Fire, Ground 160% (super effective)
Dark, Dragon, Grass, Ice, Normal, Steel 62.5%
Bug, Poison, Rock 39.1%
All other types 100% (neutral)

Zamazenta’s moves change which counters are safe. Pokebattler lists Metal Claw or Ice Fang as its fast attacks and Close Combat, Moonblast or Giga Impact as its charged attacks. Moonblast is super effective against Keldeo, Mega Gallade and Mega Mewtwo X, so those Fighting-types deal a lot of damage but faint more. Ice Fang hits Garchomp, which is Dragon/Ground, especially hard. Fire-types resist Metal Claw, Ice Fang and Moonblast, so a Fire team is the low-risk choice.

How many trainers you need

Pokebattler’s estimator (no weather, no friendship bonus, averaged over its top six counters) gives these minimums. They assume ideal play and quick rejoins, so treat them as a floor, not a comfortable group size.

Boss Best counters, level 40 Best counters, level 50 Budget, level 40
Crowned Sword Zacian about 2.3 about 2.1 about 3.4
Crowned Shield Zamazenta about 2.3 about 2.1 about 3.5

The single best counters get close to two: Pokebattler puts a full team of level 40 Mega Delphox (Mystical Fire+) at about 1.9 trainers against Zacian, and a team of Mega Mewtwo X (Dynamic Punch+) at about 1.9 against Zamazenta. Our read of those numbers:

  • 2 trainers: only for level 40+ players with full Mega, Shadow or Legendary teams, a high friendship level and Sunny weather.
  • 3 trainers: a realistic group with strong teams.
  • 4 to 5 trainers: the safe size with budget Fire-types. The Raid Hours on November 9 and 10 are the easiest time to find them.

Weather matters here. According to Pokémon GO Hub’s weather chart, Sunny boosts Fire and Ground attacks and Cloudy boosts Fighting. Snow boosts the bosses’ Steel moves, such as Metal Claw. A weather-boosted catch comes at level 25 instead of 20.

Zacian and Zamazenta 100% IV CP and max CP

According to the Pokémon GO Wiki, the boss reverts to its Hero of Many Battles form when the raid ends, so the Pokémon you catch is a Hero Zacian or Hero Zamazenta. Both Hero forms share the same stats in Pokémon GO Hub’s database (254 Attack, 236 Defense, 192 Stamina), so their catch CP is identical. Pokémon GO Hub’s Crowned form pages show CP ranges for Crowned raid catches, which doesn’t match the wiki. If the catch screen shows one of the CP values below, it’s a 100% IV Pokémon.

Pokémon 100% IV, level 20 100% IV, weather boosted (level 25) Max CP level 40 Max CP level 50
Zacian or Zamazenta (Hero of Many Battles) 2,188 2,735 3,829 4,329
Crowned Sword Zacian 2,845 3,556 4,979 5,629
Crowned Shield Zamazenta 2,384 2,980 4,172 4,717

To turn a Hero into its Crowned form, the Pokémon GO Wiki and Pokémon GO Hub both list the same cost: 1,000 Crowned Sword Energy plus 30 Zacian Candy, and the Zacian must know Iron Head. Zamazenta works the same way with Crowned Shield Energy. The official post confirms you earn that Energy by beating these raids, but it doesn’t say how much each raid gives.

Best moveset for Crowned Zacian and Crowned Zamazenta

Pokémon Raids and gyms Master League (PvP)
Crowned Sword Zacian Metal Claw / Behemoth Blade (Pokémon GO Hub’s #1 Steel attacker); Metal Claw / Play Rough for Fairy Metal Claw / Close Combat + Behemoth Blade (PvPoke rank #2)
Crowned Shield Zamazenta Metal Claw / Behemoth Bash (Pokémon GO Hub’s #2 Steel attacker) Ice Fang / Close Combat + Behemoth Bash (PvPoke rank #16)

The PvP ranks come from PvPoke’s open-source Master League rankings (last updated October 1, 2026). The Hero forms sit much lower, at #96 and #97. Behemoth Blade and Behemoth Bash also carry Adventure Effects: Pokémon GO Hub says Behemoth Blade raises the Attack of everyone in a raid or Max Battle. Pokémon GO’s November 3 update says that from Into the Wild onward, you can turn on the Behemoth Blade or Behemoth Bash Adventure Effect in a raid or Max Battle lobby. If players complete the Into the Wild Global Challenge, both effects get stronger.

Can Crowned Zacian and Zamazenta be Shiny?

Yes. The official Into the Wild post marks both Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta with “If you’re lucky, you may encounter a Shiny one!” The game doesn’t publish Shiny odds for raid bosses, so we don’t list a rate. Five-star raid catches during the event can also get a new Special Background.
