Dynamax Regidrago makes its Pokémon GO debut in five-star Max Battles on Thursday, November 12, 2026, with a featured hour from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. local time, according to the official Into the Wild post (checked November 8, 2026, 13:15 UTC). Regidrago is a pure Dragon type, so Dragon, Ice and Fairy Max Attacks hit it for 160% damage. Gardevoir, Sylveon, Glaceon and Articuno are the easy-to-own picks near the top of Pokebattler’s simulation.

Quick answer
- When: Thursday, November 12, five-star Max Battles, plus a Max Battle hour from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. local. The event runs Monday, November 9 at 10:00 a.m. to Friday, November 13 at 8:00 p.m. local.
- Weakness: Dragon, Ice and Fairy (160%). Fire, Water, Grass and Electric only do 62.5%.
- Best Max Attack types: Fairy (Max Starfall), Ice (Max Hailstorm) and Dragon (Max Wyrmwind). A Dynamax Pokémon’s Max Attack type comes from its current Fast Attack, so the Fast Attack is the thing to check.
- Top Pokebattler picks you can use: Dynamax Gardevoir (Charm), Gigantamax Lapras, Dynamax Sylveon (Charm), Glaceon and Articuno (Frost Breath), Gyarados and Duraludon (Dragon moves).
- Cost to enter: 800 Max Particles per five-star Max Battle, only spent if you win, plus a Remote Raid Pass if you join remotely (the official Remote Raid limit is raised to 30 from Nov 9 to 13).
- Shiny: yes, Dynamax Regidrago can be Shiny. Every Regidrago caught during the event knows the Fast Attack Dragon Breath.

Dynamax Regidrago Max Battle date and time
The official post lists the five-star Max Battle bosses one day at a time: Registeel on Wednesday, November 11, Regidrago on Thursday, November 12, and Latias and Latios on Friday, November 13. Each five-star boss also gets a one-hour Max Battle window from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. local time on its day. The post doesn’t say whether Regidrago can show up at Power Spots on other days, so plan for Thursday.

What is Regidrago weak to in Pokémon GO?
Regidrago is a pure Dragon type, per the Pokémon GO wiki. The wiki’s type chart gives these multipliers against a pure Dragon.
| Attack type | Damage vs Regidrago | Max Attack name |
|---|---|---|
| Dragon, Ice, Fairy | 160% (super effective) | Max Wyrmwind, Max Hailstorm, Max Starfall |
| Fire, Water, Grass, Electric | 62.5% (resisted) | Max Flare, Max Geyser, Max Overgrowth, Max Lightning |
| Everything else, including Steel | 100% | – |
Steel is neutral here, which matters because the Crowned Sword Zacian and Crowned Shield Zamazenta Max Attacks, Behemoth Blade and Behemoth Bash, are Steel-type according to the Max Moves page. They are not the type-advantaged choice against this boss.
Best Dynamax Regidrago counters
This table follows Pokebattler’s five-star Max Battle simulation for level 40 attackers, ranked by its overall rating (checked November 8, 2026, 13:16 UTC). The listing shows 30 attackers, and rank 1 is the best of those 30. One caution: Regidrago isn’t live yet, so Pokebattler is using its default five-star Max Battle boss stats and the ranking can move once real stats arrive. Treat it as a build guide and re-check on November 12.
| Pokebattler rank | Attacker | Fast Attack in the sim | Max Attack type |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Crowned Sword Zacian | Metal Claw | Steel (Behemoth Blade), neutral |
| 2 | Crowned Shield Zamazenta | Ice Fang | Steel (Behemoth Bash), neutral |
| 3 | Eternatus | Dragon Tail | Dragon (Dynamax Cannon), super effective |
| 4 | Dynamax Gardevoir | Charm | Fairy (Max Starfall), super effective |
| 5 | Gigantamax Lapras | Ice Shard | Ice (G-Max Resonance), super effective |
| 6 | Dynamax Duraludon | Dragon Tail | Dragon (Max Wyrmwind), super effective |
| 7 | Dynamax Sylveon | Charm | Fairy (Max Starfall), super effective |
| 8 | Dynamax Glaceon | Frost Breath | Ice (Max Hailstorm), super effective |
| 9 | Dynamax Gyarados | Dragon Breath | Dragon (Max Wyrmwind), super effective |
| 10 | Dynamax Articuno | Frost Breath | Ice (Max Hailstorm), super effective |
| 11 | Dynamax Excadrill | Metal Claw | Steel (Max Steelspike), neutral |
| 12 | Dynamax Latias | Dragon Breath | Dragon (Max Wyrmwind), super effective |
| 13 | Dynamax Lugia | Dragon Tail | Dragon (Max Wyrmwind), super effective |
| 15 | Dynamax Regice | Frost Breath | Ice (Max Hailstorm), super effective |
| 17 | Dynamax Hatterene | Charm | Fairy (Max Starfall), super effective |
Ranks 14 and 16 (Dynamax Metagross and Gigantamax Snorlax) are left out because Steel and Normal Max Attacks are neutral. Every Fast Attack above except the legacy ones is on the species’ wiki page (for example, Gardevoir learns Charm, Confusion, Charge Beam and Magical Leaf). Pokebattler tags a few sim movesets as legacy, such as Gigantamax Lapras’s Ice Shard, so check your own Pokémon’s Fast Attack before assuming it fits. A Fast TM can change it.
Which Pokémon to build first
- If you own Crowned Zacian or Zamazenta: they are in the sim’s top two, but their Steel Max Attacks do normal damage to Regidrago. Use them if they’re your strongest Pokémon, not because of the type.
- Fairy Pokémon with Charm: Gardevoir, Sylveon and Hatterene turn Charm into Max Starfall, and Fairy also resists Dragon attacks (see the tank section).
- Ice Pokémon with Frost Breath or Ice Shard: Glaceon, Articuno, Regice and Cryogonal give Max Hailstorm with Frost Breath or Ice Shard. Gigantamax Lapras has a fixed Ice-type G-Max Resonance.
- Dragon Pokémon with Dragon Breath or Dragon Tail: Gyarados, Latias, Lugia and Duraludon give Max Wyrmwind, which is the same type as the boss, so the damage is super effective.

How Max Battles work: Max Attack, Max Guard and Max Spirit
Max Battles start like a raid, then switch to turns once your team fills the Max Meter. Up to four Trainers can team up, each bringing up to three Pokémon, and only Dynamax-capable and Gigantamax-capable Pokémon (plus Crowned Zacian, Crowned Zamazenta and Eternatus) can enter, per the Max Battle page. In the Max phase you pick one of three Max Moves each turn, and the Dynamax lasts three turns.
| Max Move | What it does (Level 1 / Level 3) | When to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Max Attack | 250 / 350 base power (Gigantamax: 350 / 450) | Every turn your team doesn’t need a shield or heal |
| Max Guard | +20 / +60 temporary HP per shield, up to 3 uses | On the tank, because the boss prioritizes Pokémon with Max Guard |
| Max Spirit | Heals 8% / 16% of the user’s max HP to the whole active team | When your attackers are low after a big hit |
Max Guard and Max Spirit start locked, and all Max Moves can be upgraded with Max Particles and Candy, so a Dynamax Pokémon you have already levelled up hits harder. Because the Max Meter fills by damage compared with the boss’s total HP, the wiki’s tip is to favour Fast Attacks that charge quickly before the Max phase.
Which tanks resist Regidrago’s moves?
Niantic hasn’t published Regidrago’s Max Battle moveset. The wiki says a Power Spot boss uses two Charged Attacks chosen at random from its pool, and lists Breaking Swipe, Dragon Pulse, Hyper Beam, Outrage, Vise Grip and Dragon Energy among Regidrago’s possible Charged Attacks. Dragon is the type of most of those, so the chart gives a clear tank rule:
- Fairy takes 39.1% from Dragon moves (the chart’s double resistance). Gardevoir, Sylveon and Hatterene tank Dragon attacks and still hit back with Max Starfall.
- Steel takes 62.5% from Dragon moves and also resists Normal moves such as Hyper Beam and Vise Grip.
- Fairy takes full damage from Normal moves, so Hyper Beam and Vise Grip are the ones that hurt a Fairy tank.
The boss goes “desperate” about six minutes into the fight, and its attacks then get a 4x Attack multiplier, so don’t spend the first minutes waiting for the perfect team.
What you need before November 12
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Max Particles | 800 per five-star Max Battle, only spent if you win. You can store up to 1,500 and can’t gain more once you’ve collected 800 in a day (resets at 5:00 a.m. local), per the Max Particles page. |
| Remote Raid Pass | Needed to join a Max Battle remotely, on top of the particles. The official Remote Raid limit is 30 from Nov 9 to 13 and unlimited on Nov 14 and 15. |
| Trainer level | Max Battles need level 20 per the wiki. |
| Team | Three Dynamax or Gigantamax Pokémon, ideally two Fairy/Ice/Dragon attackers and one tank with Max Guard unlocked. |
The GO Pass and Meltan are covered in our Into the Wild 2026 guide. Our November 2026 events page has the rest of the month.
FAQ
Can Dynamax Regidrago be Shiny?
Yes. The official post marks Dynamax Regidrago with an asterisk for a possible Shiny. It doesn’t publish odds.
What attacks will my Regidrago know?
The official post says every Regidrago caught during the event knows the Fast Attack Dragon Breath. By the wiki’s Max Move rule that gives it a Dragon-type Max Attack.
Is Regidrago the only Max Battle boss on November 12?
It is the only five-star Max Battle boss listed for that day. The one-star and two-star bosses for the event are Ralts and Machop.
Do I need the GO Pass for Max Battles?
No. The GO Pass tracks event progress. Entering a Max Battle only needs Max Particles, and a Remote Raid Pass if you play remotely.
