Shipment is live in Modern Warfare 4, and it arrived with its own Shipment 24/7 playlist. Infinity Ward switched it on at 17:00 UTC on Tuesday, October 27 (10 AM PT, 1 PM ET, 5 PM in the UK) as part of the game’s Playlist Week 10.27 update. Two minutes later, Call of Duty’s main account confirmed it: “Shipment is LIVE NOW in #MW4”.
The 24/7 playlist is the bigger news. Activision’s launch posts had only promised Shipment as a post-launch 6v6 map for October 27, with no word on a dedicated playlist. Now that it’s here, you don’t have to wait for the map to come up in a normal rotation.
Table of Contents
MW4 playlist this week (Week 10.27)
Infinity Ward’s playlist graphic lists six playlists, three of them marked [NEW]:
| Playlist | Status | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Shipment 24/7 | New | Nonstop matches on the returning small 6v6 map |
| Kill Block: 6v6 Gunfight | New | Gunfight on the modular Kill Block arena at 6v6. Kill Block launched with only 3v3 and 10v10 |
| Gun Game | New this week | Free-for-all party mode where each kill moves you to the next weapon (15 to win) |
| Frontline | Featured | Team respawn mode where you always spawn at your base. Kills away from base score more |
| Inflation | Featured | New MW4 cash mode. Kills drop a bounty, and rich players get revealed as High Value Targets |
| Collateral | Featured | Search & Destroy with a pre-round buy phase, starting from a pistol and $800 |
The mode descriptions come from Activision’s Ready for Launch: Maps and Modes post. Infinity Ward hasn’t announced any Double XP or weapon XP event for Shipment 24/7, so expect normal XP rates. It also hasn’t said how long the playlist will stay. The “Week 10.27” label points to weekly rotations, so if Shipment matters to you, play it this week.

How to play Shipment 24/7 in MW4
- Open Multiplayer from the MW4 main menu.
- Go to the playlist list and pick Shipment 24/7. It’s a playlist of its own, so you won’t need to keep rerolling Quick Play.
- Infinity Ward delivered it as part of the October 27 playlist update and hasn’t mentioned any purchase or separate pack.
What is Shipment? A short history
Shipment first appeared in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007). It’s a tiny square of shipping containers, small enough to cross in about ten seconds, and that size is why it’s famous for constant gunfights and spawn kills. According to its Wikipedia entry, multiplayer design director Geoffrey Smith built it as an internal test map, and it ended up in the final game by mistake.
It has returned in every game of the rebooted Modern Warfare series: as a post-launch map in Modern Warfare (2019), moved to London, then in Modern Warfare II (2022), on a container ship this time, and in Modern Warfare III (2023). Other Call of Duty games remade it under different names, including Showtime in Ghosts and Shipment 1944 in WWII. MW4’s version, Activision says, is set in a container yard on a Russian harbor, “true to form with a classic layout.”

Quick tips and loadout picks for Shipment
Shipment is all close range, so speed and handling matter more than range. Our MW4 best loadouts guide has the meta picks from the major trackers. For this map, the two SMGs that Dexerto rates S tier fit best: the VEL 46 (952 RPM, 40 rounds, with its key barrel and grip unlocked early) and the ISO Nightshade, which you have from Level 4. If you play on a controller, our MW4 controller settings guide explains the aim assist and deadzone options that decide close-range fights. The MW4 perks list covers what each perk slot can hold.
What’s next
More Halloween content is close. Activision’s October 14 roadmap, as reported by outlets and covered in our Season 1 guide, puts the new Possession mode on October 29 and Infected on October 30, with Season 1 reported for November 6. For every launch map and mode in one place, see our MW4 maps list, which now counts Shipment as the 21st map.
