Gossip Harbor energy refills on its own at 1 point every 2 minutes, and natural regeneration stops once the bar reaches 100. Going from empty to full takes 200 minutes (3 hours 20 minutes). On top of that you can pick up extra energy from the daily free pack in the item store, reward links posted on Gossip Harbor’s official Facebook page, merge-event energy bottles, card collections, optional ads and escalating gem refills. Below is how each source works, what the main guides agree on, and how to time your sessions so the 2-minute timer never sits idle.
The refill rate and the 100 cap are the same in every guide we checked: the Gossip Harbor fan wiki, BlueStacks, Gossip Harbor Guide and Indonesian outlet Industry.co.id. We found no official energy help page from Microfun, so smaller numbers that only one or two guides report are labeled as such. Store details were checked on October 21, 2026 UTC, with the game on version 4.10.0 on the App Store.

Quick answer
- Refill rate: 1 energy every 2 minutes, which works out to 30 an hour or 720 a day if you never hit the cap.
- Cap: natural refills stop at 100. Rewards and purchases can push you above 100, but the timer won’t add more until you drop back under it.
- Best free sources: the daily free pack in the item store, reward links (about 25 energy each), merge-event energy bottles and card collection rewards.
- Ads: players who have never spent real money get an option to watch an ad for energy (15 per ad, according to the fan wiki).
- Gems: the gem refill starts at 10 gems and doubles each time you buy it that day. Usually only the first one is worth it.
- No energy needed: the Orange Tree makes items over time without spending energy.

How Gossip Harbor energy works
Energy is spent on the kitchen board. Each tap on a generator, such as the grocery bag or the coffee machine, costs energy and drops an item, and almost every customer order needs those items. The energy counter sits at the top of the screen with a countdown under it showing the time until your next point.
Normal energy, which the wiki calls Yellow Energy, refills by 1 point every 2 minutes up to 100. The only way past 100 is to collect it as a reward or buy it. That has a catch: while you sit at 100 or higher, the timer stops, so energy you could have earned is simply lost. This is the single most repeated tip across the guides.
The Boost Generator (the x1 multiplier) lets a generator skip lower item levels, which keeps the board tidy but costs more energy per tap. The bolt icon on a generator changes color to show the cost. Boosting is only worth it when you need the higher-level item for an order right now.
Some events use a second energy type, Pink Energy, which is separate from your kitchen energy. According to the fan wiki, it refills by 1 every 4.5 minutes up to 200 and only works inside Explorative Merging Events. Don’t confuse it with the pink bolt that shows a boosted generator’s cost.
How long until my energy is full?
Natural refills always run at 2 minutes per point, so you can work out exactly when to come back. These times assume no reward bottles or links are added in between.
| Energy now | Points to 100 | Time to full |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 100 | 3 h 20 min |
| 20 | 80 | 2 h 40 min |
| 40 | 60 | 2 h |
| 50 | 50 | 1 h 40 min |
| 70 | 30 | 1 h |
| 90 | 10 | 20 min |
In practice: if you spend down to zero, set a reminder for just under 3 hours 20 minutes. If you play in short breaks, coming back every hour or two means the bar never fills and the timer never stops.
How to get more energy in Gossip Harbor for free
These are the sources that more than one guide confirms. Amounts reported by only one or two guides are marked.
| Source | What you get | How often | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Natural refill | 1 energy per 2 minutes | Always, up to 100 | Stops at 100 or more |
| Free pack in the item store | A free daily gift (one guide reports 20-50 energy) | Once a day | Claim it before you start tapping |
| Reward links (Facebook, Instagram) | About 25 energy each | Every few days | Single use per account; expire after 1-3 days |
| Watching an ad | 15 energy (fan wiki) | When offered | Only for accounts with no real-money purchase |
| Merge events | Energy bottles | During events | Guides say merging events always give energy bottles |
| Card collections and albums | Energy reward | Each completed set | Another reason to finish card sets |
| Energy Chest in the item store | Energy chest | Once a day | 10 gems, or an ad for non-payers (fan wiki, BlueStacks) |
| Sam in the Brimwave Community | 10-20 energy gifts | Occasionally | Fan wiki and BlueStacks |
Free energy links: where they come from and why they fail
Microfun posts free energy on the official Gossip Harbor Facebook page, which the App Store listing names as the game’s fan page, along with its Instagram account. The fan wiki, AllThings. How and Gossip Harbor Guide’s link log all put a typical link at about 25 energy. Open the link on the phone where the game is installed and signed in, and the energy goes to whichever account is logged in.
When a link doesn’t work, it’s usually one of four things: it has expired (guides give a 24 to 72 hour window), you already claimed it through another post or notification, the app is out of date, or the connection dropped. The Facebook page also runs occasional comment giveaways where you post your player ID, according to the wiki and BlueStacks. Your player ID is in your profile and at the top right of the main screen.
Skip any site promising “unlimited energy”, generators or modded APKs. Those don’t come from Microfun, and the guides we checked warn against them. Using one can put your account at risk.

Should you buy energy with gems?
Tap the energy counter to open the refill offer. The gem price starts at 10 and doubles with every refill you buy that day (10, 20, 40…), according to the fan wiki, BlueStacks and Gossip Harbor Guide. The wiki says your very first refill ever is free and that the price resets at midnight GMT. Since the price climbs so fast, the usual advice is to buy one 10-gem refill at most, and only when it finishes something you can see: an order worth a lot, a story step, or an event milestone that’s about to close. Gems are scarce and also buy inventory space, which saves energy in a different way because a cramped board wastes taps.
For real money, the App Store lists a Premium Energy Bundle at $3.99 among the game’s top in-app purchases, next to gem packs from $1.99 and a $7.99 Super Pass Ticket. Google Play lists the game as having ads and in-app purchases.
Gossip Harbor energy tips: how to waste less
- Never sit at 100. Spend some energy before you put the phone down. A full bar means the timer is stopped.
- Wait for the timer before using a bottle. The wiki’s tip: if a bottle or reward will take you to 100 or more, let the countdown tick over first. The timer disappears at the cap, so the partial point is lost.
- Hold bottles and links when you’re already full. Collect them when you’re low and the timer is running, not when you’re at 95.
- Tap for orders, not for fun. Every tap costs energy. Work toward the items your current orders show, and stop when the board has only a handful of free tiles. Gossip Harbor Guide suggests stopping once fewer than five tiles are free.
- Use the Orange Tree. It produces items over time with no energy cost, and the wiki suggests storing oranges in the holding area for events and Restaurant Goals.
- Save energy for events. Merge events pay out bottles, coins and card packs on top of normal orders, so a stockpile goes further during an event than on random merges.
- Only boost when it saves taps. A boosted tap costs more, so use it when you need a high-level item for an order on the board, not by default.
The current update (4.10.0, released October 14) adds a Halloween event in which Coconut the cat is “catnapped by bats to a spooky castle,” and a new story episode arrives every Friday, according to the App Store release notes. With an event live, it’s worth saving bottles and links for the event board rather than spending them on everyday orders.
Where Gossip Harbor fits among merge games
Gossip Harbor: Merge & Story is free on the App Store (4.6 stars from about 210,000 ratings) and Google Play (4.3 stars from about 721,000 ratings, 50M+ downloads). It led our list of the best merge games on iPhone and Android, where you’ll also find Tasty Travels and Merge Cooking, which also run on energy. If you’re tired of energy timers, our color sort puzzle games and trending puzzle games on mobile have short levels, and our Royal Kingdom vs Royal Match comparison covers a lives system that works in a similar way.
