Genshin Impact 7.2 Hour of Ruin arrives Nov 4 with 5-star Mitya, 4-star Valeriy, a Furina rerun and Novokitezhgrad. Three livestream codes end Oct 26.

Genshin Impact Version 7.2, “Hour of Ruin,” launches on November 4, 2026 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and mobile. HoYoverse confirmed the date in its Special Program recap on October 23. The update adds 5-star Mitya and 4-star Valeriy, both Electro, and opens a new region in eastern Snezhnaya built around the underground city of Novokitezhgrad.

The livestream also gave out three redemption codes worth 300 Primogems in total, and they expire this weekend. Here’s everything HoYoverse has confirmed so far.

Genshin 7.2 release date and maintenance time

HoYoverse has confirmed November 4, but it hasn’t posted the 7.2 maintenance notice yet. That notice usually goes up two days before an update. For Version 7.0, maintenance started at 06:00 UTC+8 and was estimated to last five hours, with 300 Primogems in compensation. If 7.2 follows the same pattern, servers go down at 22:00 UTC on November 3 (5 PM ET, 2 PM PT) and come back around 03:00 UTC on November 4. Treat those times as an estimate until the notice is out.

New characters: Mitya and Valeriy

  • Mitya (“Rules Set at Naught”): 5-star, Electro, Catalyst. In HoYoverse’s update overview, published by Gematsu, he turns the team’s Superconduct reactions into Stellar-Conduct and boosts the whole party’s Stellar-Conduct damage. Tapping his Skill does off-field damage, and holding it switches him to a burst of enhanced Charged Attacks. The 7.2 Archon Quest rewards include his Ascension materials.
  • Valeriy (“Fort Fulguration”): 4-star, Electro. HoYoverse describes him as a sword user and a Major of the Armory Palace who gives shields and boosts Electro damage, especially for Stellar-Conduct teams.

The program also showed a new 5-star catalyst, Starsealed Edict.

New area: Novokitezhgrad in eastern Snezhnaya

A railway takes players to Novokitezhgrad. It’s Snezhnaya’s main producer of Kresnik Kristall, and the whole city is built underground. Further east is Wingspan Peak, home to Old Kitezhgrad, which HoYoverse calls Snezhnaya’s first city. New Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns help clear contaminated Kristall deposits. The new boss, Wavebinder, waits in Novokitezhgrad.
