Games Like Clash of Clans: 12 Picks for Mobile and PC (2026)

Cartoon barbarians and archers charging a walled fantasy village with cannons and stone towers, like a base-building strategy game
Written by Maya

Boom Beach, Clash Royale, DomiNations, Rise of Kingdoms and 8 more games like Clash of Clans, with ratings, PC versions and spend ranges from each store.

The closest games like Clash of Clans are Supercell’s own Boom Beach, where you build an island base and storm other players’ beaches, and Clash Royale, which turns the same troops and spells into fast card battles. If you want the classic build-a-base, raid-for-loot loop with a new skin, try DomiNations or Castle Clash. If Clan Wars is the part you love, the big alliance war games Rise of Kingdoms, Lords Mobile and Call of Dragons make clan teamwork the whole game.

Clash of Clans is still a giant: it sat at #12 on the US iPhone top-grossing games chart in Apple’s feed of November 1 (20:28 PDT), and Google Play shows 500M+ downloads. All 12 picks below are live on both the US App Store and Google Play, with the developer matched on both stores. Ratings, spend ranges and PC versions were checked on November 2, 2026 at 04:30 UTC.

Games like Clash of Clans made by Supercell

1. Boom Beach

Supercell’s 2014 follow-up is the closest thing to a Clash of Clans sequel. You build and defend a base on a tropical island, then scout enemy bases across an archipelago and land your troops on their beaches. The story enemy is the Blackguard, and the clan equivalent is a Task Force: a group of players who take on bigger targets together. It keeps the Supercell art style and was last updated on October 5, 2026.

Worth it if: you love planning an attack on someone else’s base more than anything else in Clash.

2. Clash Royale

Clash Royale takes the Barbarians, Hog Riders, spells and defenses of Clash of Clans and turns them into a real-time duel. You build a deck from 100+ cards and try to knock down your opponent’s towers in a short match. It also has Clans, card sharing and Clan Wars, plus a Season Pass with seasonal rewards. It was updated on October 31, 2026.

Worth it if: you want the Clash characters but quick matches instead of long upgrade timers. Supercell’s 3v3 game Brawl Stars is in our best multiplayer mobile games to play with friends list.

Base builders with the same build, defend and raid loop

3. DomiNations

DomiNations is the most Clash-like game here that isn’t made by Supercell. You build a walled town, train an army, raid other players for loot and defend against their attacks. The twist is history: your nation moves up through the ages from an early settlement to the modern era, unlocks Wonders of the World and works with leaders such as Leonardo da Vinci and Cleopatra. It also has a World War mode for conquering the globe. The App Store lists it under SecretNewCo, Inc., but the listing links to Big Huge Games, the developer named on Google Play.

Worth it if: you like Clash of Clans and Age of Empires-style eras.

4. Castle Clash: World Ruler

IGG’s Castle Clash launched in 2013, the year after Clash of Clans, and still gets updates (latest on iOS: October 13, 2026). You build a base, but heroes do more of the work here: you hire them, give them skins and send them into battle with spells. Guilds fight for territory in the Narcia mode. Its upgrade path is non-linear, so you choose which part of the base grows first.

Worth it if: you want Clash-style bases with a bigger hero collection.

5. Hustle Castle

Hustle Castle has you build a castle room by room instead of laying out a village. You take in new subjects, give them jobs, train them as warriors and gear them up. A story campaign has hundreds of missions, and in multiplayer you attack and plunder other players’ castles. It is the most management-heavy game on this list.

Worth it if: you like the building side of Clash and also enjoy managing a crew.

6. Empires & Puzzles

Empires & Puzzles keeps the base building and the raids but replaces troop drops with match-3 battles. You rebuild a stronghold that gathers resources and trains troops, collect heroes, then fight with color combos. PvP goes from 1v1 raids to 100v100 wars, which is the closest thing to Clan Wars in a puzzle game.

Worth it if: you want something calmer than live raids but still want a base and an alliance.

Games like Clash of Clans with huge alliance wars

These are “4X” kingdom games: you still build a city, but it sits on a shared world map with thousands of other players, and everything is about your alliance. They are slower and more social than Clash. For survival-themed games of this type (Whiteout Survival, Last War, State of Survival), see our games like Whiteout Survival list; none of them are repeated here.

7. Rise of Kingdoms

You pick one of 15 historical civilizations, each with its own buildings, units and bonuses, and grow it from a small clan. Battles happen in real time on one big seamless map: anyone can join or leave a fight at any time, so you can send troops to help an ally who is under attack. Lilith Games says each map is shared by over 80,000 players. There’s an official PC version on its website.

8. Lords Mobile: Kingdom Wars

Lords Mobile is the biggest game in this group on Google Play (500M+ downloads). You build a kingdom, research upgrades, train four troop types in six formations and lead a team of five heroes through an RPG campaign. Guild vs Guild expeditions put several guilds on one battlefield. It has been free on Steam since June 2, 2019. New to its fights? Our Lords Mobile battle guide covers the basics.

9. Call of Dragons

Call of Dragons is a fantasy take on the same idea, from Farlight Games. Armies of elves, orcs and mages march over 3D terrain, flying legions can cross mountains and rivers, and alliances team up to take on giant Behemoths. Its store listing now leads with War Pets: you capture beasts on the map and train them to fight with your armies. It has the best App Store rating on this list (4.8).

10. Age of Empires Mobile

The official mobile Age of Empires, published by Level Infinite, came out on October 17, 2024. You choose from 8 civilizations, gather resources, train armies and lay siege to cities with towers and gates, with alliance battles involving thousands of players. Its App Store rating is the lowest here (3.7), but a free Age of Empires Mobile: PC Edition arrived on Steam on June 23, 2026, published by Xbox Game Studios. PC players who want the classic RTS instead can start with our Age of Empires IV Raiders of the North guide.

11. Forge of Empires

Forge of Empires is the slow, thoughtful option. You build a city from the Stone Age to modern times and beyond, research technologies, make goods, trade with neighbors and take over map provinces by fighting or negotiating. It started as an InnoGames browser game in 2012, and your city works on both the app and the browser version.

12. Total Battle: War Strategy

Total Battle sits at #15 on the US iPhone top-grossing games chart, three places behind Clash of Clans. It’s a fantasy war game about building and defending a castle, with catapults and guards at first and titans, dragons and elementals later. It also runs in a web browser at totalbattle.com.

Games like Clash of Clans on PC and Steam

Clash of Clans has no Steam version, but its Google Play page lists a Windows version through Google Play Games on PC. These picks also run on a computer:

Game How to play it on PC
Lords Mobile Free on Steam (since June 2019) or Google Play Games
Age of Empires Mobile Free “PC Edition” on Steam (since June 23, 2026)
Rise of Kingdoms Official PC client from Lilith Games, or Google Play Games
Forge of Empires Web browser, or Google Play Games
Total Battle Web browser
Clash Royale, DomiNations, Hustle Castle, Call of Dragons Google Play Games on PC (listed on each Google Play page)

Boom Beach, Castle Clash and Empires & Puzzles had no Windows listing on Google Play when we checked.

Are any games like Clash of Clans not pay to win?

Not really: every game on this list is free-to-play and sells in-app purchases, and several (including the Supercell games and Total Battle) say in their store descriptions that some purchases are random items. What differs is how much you can spend and whether you also see ads. Here’s what Google Play lists:

Game In-app purchases (per item) “Contains ads” on Google Play
Clash of Clans (for reference) $0.29 – $239.99 No
Clash Royale $0.29 – $239.99 No
Boom Beach $0.29 – $239.99 Yes
Castle Clash $0.99 – $99.99 Yes
Age of Empires Mobile $0.99 – $99.99 No
Empires & Puzzles $0.99 – $199.99 Yes
DomiNations $0.99 – $199.99 Yes
Forge of Empires $0.99 – $199.99 Yes
Total Battle $0.99 – $249.99 No
Lords Mobile $0.99 – $299.99 No
Hustle Castle $0.29 – $329.99 Yes
Call of Dragons $0.99 – $394.93 No
Rise of Kingdoms $0.29 – $499.99 Yes

The alliance war games (Rise of Kingdoms, Call of Dragons, Lords Mobile) have the most expensive single items, up to $499.99, while Castle Clash and Age of Empires Mobile top out at $99.99. Supercell’s own listings suggest turning off in-app purchases in your device settings if you don’t want to buy anything. If farming and building with friends is more your speed than raiding, Supercell’s Hay Day and similar games are in our games like Township list.
