Enshrouded best builds for 1.0: wand-and-staff Battlemage, Dexterity ranger, Crestflame tank and Water Aura healer, with skills, weapons and armor sets.

Enshrouded has been out of Early Access since October 15, 2026. Among the Enshrouded best builds for 1.0, the one dated guides agree on most is the Battlemage: a wand plus a staff, Intelligence first, with Blast and Cast and Blink. For groups, the usual pairing is a shield tank (Constitution, Tower, Warden, Nemesis) with a healer built around Water Aura. The current version is Hotfix 1.0.0.3 (October 21), which only fixed crashes and save migration, so 1.0 builds still hold.

Each build below is shown as its source wrote it (skill tree path, weapons, armor). Builds are opinions, so we name whose each one is and flag where guides disagree. Skill effects come from Keen Games’ patch notes or the Enshrouded wiki’s Skills page.

Quick answer: Enshrouded best builds in 1.0

  • Best mage (solo and overall): Wand-and-staff Battlemage. Intelligence, then Spirit and Constitution. Key skills are Blast and Cast, Unity, Wand Evasion Attack and Blink. All three guides below rank it first.
  • Best ranger: Dexterity bow build with Marksman, Ranger, Sniper, Multi Shot and the new Puncture and Barrage skills. Daggers are the backup weapon.
  • Best tank: One-handed weapon plus shield. Constitution first, with Heavy Plates, Tower, Warden, Nemesis and Arch Nemesis, in the Crestflame set with the Crestflame Shield.
  • Best healer: Intelligence and Spirit with Healer, Water Aura, Waters of Life, Life Burst, Saviour and Healing Revive. KeenGamer pairs it with the Lifelock set and Eternal Heal Cascade II.
  • Respec first: loading an Early Access save into 1.0 resets your skill tree, so spend your points before you leave the base.

What changed for builds in Enshrouded 1.0

Keen Games posted its 1.0 combat preview on September 23 and the full 1.0 changelog on October 14. These are the changes that matter for builds:

  • Higher caps. Players now reach level 50, and fully upgraded gear reaches level 55.
  • Skill tree reset. The changelog says old saves get a reset tree the first time they load in 1.0.
  • Nine new spells: Mana Drain, Entangle, Pillar of Flames, Blizzard, Ball Lightning, Summon Fire Totem, Summon Ice Totem, Summon Shock Totem and Summon Hollow Skeleton.
  • Eternal spells and arrows. Every spell now has an Eternal version that uses no charges, and Eternal spells and arrows can be upgraded like weapons.
  • Wand rework. Wands gained a piercing heavy attack. Aerial Wand Attack and Wand Evasion Attack are new unlockable skills.
  • New skills: Advanced Necromancy, Totem Mastery, Blast and Cast, Puncture, Barrage and Survival Instinct. Keen gives exact numbers for one of them: after a wand crit, Blast and Cast raises your next staff attack’s base damage by 50% for 10 seconds. The ranger skills were announced with “x%” placeholders.
  • Dagger skills moved. They left the warrior area for the assassin part of the tree.
  • Leech nerf. Percentage-based health, mana and stamina leech is now limited to specific late-game gear. Early leech perks use flat values.

Official screenshots of the 1.0 tree show 3-rank nodes (labelled “0/3”), and the melee defense branch is called Guardian. The wiki’s Skills page still files the same skills under “Tank”. The wiki says it imported its skill data from the 1.0 game files on October 15 and corrected it on October 22. It does not yet list the six new 1.0 skills, so treat its percentages as a guide only.

Best mage build in Enshrouded: Battlemage

All three guides put a wand-and-staff mage first. Power Up Gaming’s version: Intelligence first, then Spirit and Constitution. You fish for wand crits, then swap to the staff during the Blast and Cast window. Entangle or totems give you control, AoE spells handle groups and Mana Drain keeps your mana up. KeenGamer’s skill list is Blast and Cast, Wand Specialization, Unity, Wand Evasion Attack, Blink and Water Aura.

  • Weapons: KeenGamer and BisectHosting both name Polymath’s Wand with the Staff of Guidance. The wiki lists Polymath’s Wand at level 50 with three Magic Fire Damage perks, and the Staff of Guidance at level 40, also built around fire.
  • Armor (this is where the guides disagree): BisectHosting calls the full Tidecaller set the go-to late-game choice. The wiki lists it as a level 43 Veilwater Basin set. KeenGamer mixes pieces instead: a Hailcaster Chest, Flaming Gauntlets and Vorgoth’s Soulbound Crown, a level 45 legendary helmet crafted by the Ancient Researcher.
  • Summoner variant: take Advanced Necromancy and Totem Mastery to raise how many skeletons and totems you can have, then add the Candlelight Wand and Staff of Reeds. KeenGamer and BisectHosting both suggest Vorgoth’s Soulbound pieces with the Flame Arcanist set.

If you’d rather go all-in on area damage, KeenGamer’s Elemental Wizard and BisectHosting’s Lightning Wizard both use Wizard, Chain Hit, Mass Destruction and Quick Charge instead of the defensive wand skills.

Best ranger build in Enshrouded

Every guide builds the ranger on Dexterity. The wiki says each point adds 5% bow and dagger damage. Endurance comes next for dodging and gliding, and BisectHosting also adds some Constitution for when enemies get close.

Ranger builds stack Dexterity, which the wiki says adds 5% bow and dagger damage per point. Image: Keen Games

  • Skills: Marksman, Ranger, Sniper and Multi Shot appear in every list. KeenGamer adds Puncture, Barrage, Fatal Precision and Shell Shock. Power Up Gaming adds Headhunter, Graceful Stride and Vitality Surge. The wiki’s Skills table has neither Fatal Precision nor Headhunter yet. Only BisectHosting gives a number for Barrage: a 15% base chance to restore 1 bow durability.
  • Weapons: KeenGamer’s pick is the Ignited Bow, a level 40 fire bow. BisectHosting prefers the Firefeather Bow from Cinder’s Cradle, which has fire damage and Health Leech perks, with the Ignited Bow as its alternative. Its backup weapon is the Solstice Daggers.
  • Armor: KeenGamer uses the Ashwind Strider set, a level 45 Cinder’s Cradle set crafted at the Hunter. BisectHosting picks the level 43 Quetzal Hunter set.
  • Arrows: 1.0 added Eternal Fire, Eternal Shock and Eternal Bone arrows. KeenGamer’s loadout is Explosive, Stun and Eternal Fire.

Best tank build in Enshrouded

Both guides that cover tanks frame them as a co-op role. Power Up Gaming and KeenGamer agree on Constitution first (+50 health per point, per the wiki), a one-handed weapon and a shield. These are the core defensive skills and what the wiki says they do:

Skill Effect (wiki) Named by
Heavy Plates Armor can mitigate 10% more physical damage KeenGamer, Power Up Gaming
Tower 10% less physical damage with 3+ enemies within 20 m KeenGamer, Power Up Gaming
Warden 15% less magical damage with 3+ enemies within 20 m KeenGamer, Power Up Gaming
Nemesis / Arch Nemesis Draw equal, then double, enemy attention when an ally pulls aggro KeenGamer (both), Power Up Gaming (Nemesis)
Thick Skin +1 Constitution per two Flame levels KeenGamer
Earth Aura 10% less incoming damage for you and allies within 10 m BisectHosting (Warrior build)

KeenGamer’s gear is the Mace of Wrath (a level 40 club with ice damage and Retaliation perks), the Crestflame Shield, the full Crestflame set and the Commander’s Ring. The Crestflame Shield and armor are level 45 Cinder’s Cradle gear crafted at the Blacksmith. Power Up Gaming adds Battle Heal and Power Parry for sustain. BisectHosting has no dedicated tank. Its defensive Warrior wears the level 43 Golden Bulwark set, which it credits with +315 health and +44% Merciless Attack damage as a full set.

Best healer build in Enshrouded

Power Up Gaming and KeenGamer cover healers, and both say the build is for co-op. KeenGamer’s path: Healer, Water Aura, Waters of Life, Life Burst, Saviour and Healing Revive. What the wiki says those skills do:

  • Water Aura heals injured allies within 15 m by 1 health per 2 Intelligence. Waters of Life doubles that.
  • Healer and Healer II add 10% and 20% to healing spells.
  • Saviour cuts revive time from 6 to 3 seconds. Healing Revive brings allies back at 25% health instead of 10%.
  • Life Burst heals players near an enemy you kill with a magic weapon. The wiki says 3x your Intelligence, but BisectHosting says 5x. The sources disagree on this number.

For weapons, KeenGamer names Oracle’s Everblue, a level 40 Shroud staff that only drops from Shroud Lair chests, plus the Mythic Wand. Its spells are Eternal Heal Cascade II and Eternal Chain Heal II, with the Lifelock armor set and Ring of the Ancients. The wiki lists both spells at level 45 with 77 base healing. Heal Cascade II costs 14 mana and Chain Heal II costs 58, so Heal Cascade is the cheaper spell to spam.

Power Up Gaming’s healer adds Battle Heal and Blink, but Battle Heal only triggers on melee crits, so it suits a hybrid healer more than a pure staff support.

Endgame armor sets for each build

Set Type Level Biome Used for
Flame Arcanist Magic 45 Cinder’s Cradle Wizard, Summoner (KeenGamer, BisectHosting)
Lifelock Magic 45 Cinder’s Cradle Healer (KeenGamer)
Vorgoth’s Soulbound Magic (legendary pieces) 45 Ancient Researcher craft Single pieces mixed into six of KeenGamer’s nine builds; crown and pants for BisectHosting’s Necromancer
Tidecaller Magic 43 Veilwater Basin Battlemage, Lightning Wizard (BisectHosting)
Ashwind Strider Ranged 45 Cinder’s Cradle Ranger (KeenGamer)
Quetzal Hunter Ranged 43 Veilwater Basin Ranger (BisectHosting)
Crestflame Melee 45 Cinder’s Cradle Tank (KeenGamer)
Emberguard Melee 45 Cinder’s Cradle Warrior, Barbarian (KeenGamer)
Golden Bulwark Melee 43 Veilwater Basin Defensive Warrior (BisectHosting)

The level 45 Cinder’s Cradle sets are new in 1.0. The wiki has no confirmed set bonuses for them yet, so we haven’t listed any. BisectHosting’s level 43 picks suit players who haven’t reached the new biome.

Where the build guides disagree

  • Endgame armor tier: KeenGamer builds on the new level 45 sets. BisectHosting recommends level 43 Veilwater Basin sets (Tidecaller, Quetzal Hunter, Golden Bulwark).
  • Skill numbers: BisectHosting phrases most skills as “at least X%” (for example, Unity at a 2% chance to restore 10% mana). The wiki says 24% for 4%. With 3-rank nodes in 1.0, both may be right at different ranks. Check the tooltip in-game.
  • Skill names: guides use names the wiki doesn’t list (Fatal Precision, Headhunter, Arcane Proliferation, Mana Currents). BisectHosting’s “Arcane Proliferation” matches the wiki’s “Wand Master” (30% chance of an extra wand projectile). Trust the in-game tooltip.

How skill points and respecs work in 1.0

According to the wiki, you earn 2 skill points per level, 1 per Shroud Root and 3 per Elixir Well. Each Root and Well pays out only once. 1.0 added new Shroud Roots at the edges of the map, so it’s worth clearing them for extra points. Any node is open to any character as long as it connects to nodes you already own. KeenGamer says you can respec at a Flame Altar using Runes.

FAQ

What is the best solo build in Enshrouded?

All three guides we checked name the wand-and-staff Battlemage. It deals ranged damage, has Blink to get out of trouble, and recovers mana through Unity and parries. For melee players, Power Up Gaming’s pick is a one-handed Warrior with a shield, built on Warrior’s Path, Veteran, Swift Blades and Battle Heal.

What skills does an Enshrouded tank build need?

Constitution, Heavy Plates, Tower, Warden and Nemesis, plus Arch Nemesis and Thick Skin per KeenGamer. In the 1.0 tree these sit in the branch the game now labels Guardian.

Is Enshrouded still in Early Access?

No. Version 1.0 launched on October 15, 2026, on PC and PS5. The latest patch is Hotfix 1.0.0.3 from October 21. Keen says it will bring cross-platform play, but has not given a date.

Do I need to reset my skills after updating to 1.0?

The game does it for you. The first time an Early Access character loads in 1.0, its skill tree is reset. Keen’s advice is to spend the points again before leaving your base.
