Keen Games’ Enshrouded left Early Access on Oct 15: $39.99 on Steam and PS5, a new biome, level 50 cap and hotfix 1.0.0.1. The Xbox version is due spring 2027.

Enshrouded 1.0 is out now on PC (Steam) and PS5, ending more than two years of Early Access for Keen Games’ co-op survival action RPG. The full release went live on October 15 at 15:00 UTC, costs $39.99 on both platforms, and is the game’s console debut. Xbox Series X|S owners are the exception: that version is still due in spring 2027.

Keen shipped hotfix 1.0.0.1 the same evening. On Steam the game is #4 on the US top sellers chart and peaked at 65,204 concurrent players in the last 24 hours (Steam charts, checked October 16, 08:45 UTC); its user rating is Very Positive.

Enshrouded 1.0 price and platforms

Prices below were checked on the Steam store page and the PlayStation Store listing on October 16, 08:45 UTC (US prices).

Platform Status Standard Launch offer Deluxe
PC (Steam) Out now (Oct 15) $39.99 10% off ($35.99) until Oct 29 Deluxe Upgrade Pack $9.99
PS5 / PS5 Pro Out now (Oct 15) $39.99 10% off ($35.99) for PS Plus members until Oct 29, 15:00 UTC Deluxe Edition $49.99
Xbox Series X|S Delayed Spring 2027, no price yet

The Deluxe Upgrade Pack adds three class outfit packs, a digital artbook and a printable map; it’s cosmetic. The PS5 version is PS5 Pro Enhanced and supports 8-player online co-op with PS Plus. On PC, $39.99 is the new full price: Keen raised it by €10 on September 8, a rise it had always planned for 1.0.

Is Enshrouded on Xbox?

Not yet: the Xbox Series X|S version is due in spring 2027. Keen had planned a simultaneous launch on PC, PS5 and Xbox, but in June CEO Jan Jöckel said reaching “the level of quality and performance we expect on Xbox would require additional time” (via Game Informer). There is also no cross-play between PC and PS5 at launch: the studio’s launch FAQ says cross-platform play is in the works but has no estimate.

What’s new in Enshrouded 1.0

The 1.0 changelog is long. The changes that matter most for returning players:

  • The full map is open. The new northern biome, Cinder’s Cradle (a lava wasteland with floating islands above it), adds 12 Shroud Roots; expanded map edges add 6 more.
  • The main story is complete, “for now”, according to Keen.
  • Higher caps: player level 50, gear upgrades to 55, and up to 15 Flame Altars.
  • Two more Hollow Halls, in the Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin.
  • A mage overhaul. 9 new spell types (including skeleton and totem summons), Eternal no-charge versions of every spell, and a wand heavy attack.
  • Sparkworks, a logic system (levers, pressure plates, traps, doors) for building puzzles, dungeons or arenas into your world.
  • Voice acting. Lore notes and the main survivors are now voiced in English, German and Mandarin Chinese.
  • Tech: a new “brick renderer” for distant detail, HDR support and shorter shader compilation.

Early Access saves and the skill tree reset

Early Access buyers on PC don’t pay again, and old saves carry over: they’re converted to a new format on first load. Two caveats from Keen. First, the skill tree is reset the first time you load an existing character in 1.0, so you’ll need to spend your points again. Second, the studio “strongly” encourages a fresh start, because the early-game areas, crafting recipes and loot were reworked. Early Access owners also get three exclusive decorative props via “Redeem Add-Ons” in the escape menu.

Hotfix 1.0.0.1 and known issues

According to the hotfix notes (build 1267041), the patch fixes random crashes, crashes caused by some PC peripherals and an indoor lighting bug. The Fire Wisp scroll is now fixed at level 27; its damage had scaled with player level, making it far too strong in the end-game.

Two problems remain open. Reverb and voice-over ducking break when the master volume is below 100%; Keen suggests leaving it at 100% and turning the volume down in Windows instead. And if the world edit button stops working, subscribing to any item in Adventure Sharing is a temporary workaround.

Enshrouded isn’t the only PC co-op hit moving to consoles this month: Peak lands on PS5, Xbox and Switch 2 on October 22, and Squad has a free PS5 alpha running now. For a similar build-and-explore loop, see our Palworld beginner tips.

What’s next

Keen has promised to keep supporting Enshrouded with new content “for years to come”, and the next confirmed milestone is the Xbox Series X|S release in spring 2027. Cross-play and the audio fix are the open items to watch; we’ll update this post when Keen dates either.
