The Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 release date is Tuesday, October 20, 2026, on Netflix, according to CD Projekt Red’s official Edgerunners 2 page. It is a ten-episode standalone series made by CD Projekt Red and Studio Trigger, set in the Night City of Cyberpunk 2077, with an all-new cast. You don’t need to have seen the 2022 original to follow it.
Interest has jumped two days before launch: “cyberpunk” is one of the trending searches on Google Trends in the US this weekend. And Cyberpunk 2077 itself is 70% off on Steam until October 26.

Neither company has said whether all ten episodes arrive at once. The first season was released as a complete ten-episode batch in September 2022. We’ll update this article if Netflix lists a start time.
Is Edgerunners 2 a sequel to the first season?
Only loosely. CD Projekt Red calls it a “standalone series”, and its synopsis follows new characters. Weak is a washed-up legend “forced to live without chrome”. The nomad D is on a revenge path that leads to “corpo secrets never meant to be found”. Studio Trigger returns from the first show. Game Informer reported the October 20 date in August, when the premiere-date teaser came out. CD Projekt Red first announced the series in July 2025.

The supporting cast includes Talia’s parents, Avida (a former jazz singer and Weak’s old flame) and Kiril, a Kang Tao executive. On October 2, the official Edgerunners account named Daniel Wu as Kiril’s English voice. Braindance shop owner Sal Bigelow and Arasaka executive Kitano also appear.

Trailer and songs
CD Projekt Red released a new official trailer in mid-October, set to “High Forever (Marlon Hoffstadt Remix)” by Petite Meller, RPG Site notes. The second teaser used “You Can’t Run From Me”, performed by rapper Rico Nasty. The Cure’s opening theme was revealed at Anime Expo in July, where the first episode was also screened.
What it means for Cyberpunk 2077 players
The first Edgerunners helped revive interest in the game in 2022 (we covered that turnaround in Cyberpunk 2077 is back in business). The new series lines up with a sale. On Steam, Cyberpunk 2077 is $17.99, down from $59.99. The Phantom Liberty expansion is also $17.99 (40% off $29.99). Both discounts run until October 26 at 18:00 UTC (checked October 18, 08:20 UTC). What’s next
