Pokémon GO raids this week (Thursday, October 29 to Wednesday, November 4) are led by Giratina (Origin Forme) in five-star raids until Tuesday night, then Giratina (Altered Forme) from Wednesday, November 4, with a Raid Hour that evening. Mega Sableye stays in Mega Raids all week, Shadow Landorus gets its final weekend, and Mega Chandelure debuts in Super Mega Raids on Halloween, Saturday, October 31, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time.

The bosses and dates below come from Niantic’s November content update and the official Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day and Halloween posts. Exact start and end hours, plus the three-star and Shadow lineups that Niantic doesn’t publish, come from Leek Duck. Checked October 29, 2026, 08:00 UTC.

Five-star raids: Giratina Origin, then Giratina Altered

Niantic’s November graphic dates Giratina (Origin Forme) from October 28 to November 3 and Giratina (Altered Forme) from November 4 to November 8, both Shiny-eligible. The Origin Forme’s Raid Hour already ran on Wednesday, October 28, so the next five-star Raid Hour is the Altered Forme’s on November 4. Then the rotation moves to Cresselia and Darkrai from November 16, per the same graphic. Our Pokémon GO November 2026 events guide has the rest of the month.

The two formes look different and fight differently. Origin Forme is the stronger attacker, and Altered Forme is the bulkier one. If you’re short on Raid Passes, decide which one you want before the Tuesday-to-Wednesday switch. For Origin Forme teams, see our Giratina Origin and Mega Sableye raid counters.

Best Giratina (Altered Forme) counters

Giratina is Ghost and Dragon, so it’s weak to Ghost, Dragon, Dark, Ice and Fairy moves. Windy weather boosts Dragon attackers and Fog boosts Ghost attackers. These are Pokebattler’s top picks at level 40, leaving out Super Max-only moves:

Counter Fast move Charged move Type
Eternatus Dragon Tail Dynamax Cannon Dragon
Mega Rayquaza Dragon Tail Breaking Swipe Dragon
Black Kyurem Dragon Tail Freeze Shock Dragon
Mega Garchomp Dragon Tail Breaking Swipe Dragon
Mega Chandelure Hex Shadow Ball Ghost
Dawn Wings Necrozma Shadow Claw Moongeist Beam Ghost

No Legendaries or Megas? Pokebattler’s best non-Legendary, non-Shadow picks are Baxcalibur (Ice Fang, Glaive Rush), Haxorus and Garchomp (Dragon Tail, Breaking Swipe), Tyranitar (Bite, Brutal Swing), Dragapult and Kingambit (Snarl, Foul Play). Pokebattler estimates about 2 trainers with top counters and 2-3 with that budget team. Bring more if your Pokémon are below level 40.

A tip for the week: a Mega Chandelure caught on Halloween already ranks among the top Ghost-type options against Altered Forme with its regular moves. Raid Day Chandelure comes with Mega Level 1 unlocked, according to Niantic.

Chandelure Super Mega Raid Day (Saturday, October 31)

Mega Chandelure makes its Pokémon GO debut in Super Mega Raids from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time on Halloween. The official post lists these bonuses:

  • Up to 6 free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (up to 14 with the US$4.99 ticket).
  • Chandelure caught from Super Mega Raids has Mega Level 1 unlocked, and the Shiny rate is boosted.
  • The ticket also adds a better chance of Rare Candy XL from raids, plus 5,000 extra XP and 5,000 extra Stardust per Super Mega Raid. It’s on sale in-game until 5:00 p.m. local that day.
  • Free Timed Research during the event rewards a Premium Battle Pass and a Tyranitar encounter.
  • The Remote Raid limit goes up to 20, and a Global Challenge runs from Fri Oct 30, 5:00 p.m. PDT to Sat Oct 31, 8:00 p.m. PDT. Every raid completed worldwide counts toward it.

Mega Chandelure is Ghost and Fire, so Water, Ground, Rock, Ghost and Dark attackers hit it hard. Niantic says Super Mega Raids “may only appear at certain Gyms” and need teamwork. Check the official map and local meetups before you head out. Depending on how many Global Challenge tiers players unlock, Mega Chandelure gets a stronger Ominous Wind+ and a Super Max CP boost from November 2 at 12:00 p.m. PST until November 15. Neither boost applies in GO Battle League. Our Pokémon GO Halloween 2026 guide covers the rest of Part 1.

Mega raids this week: Mega Sableye

Mega Sableye is in Mega Raids from October 28 at 6:00 a.m. to November 8 at 10:00 p.m. local, per Niantic’s graphic and Leek Duck. One listing on Leek Duck’s raid-boss page groups it with Giratina and shows November 3, but its own event page and Niantic’s graphic both say November 8. Sableye’s Dark and Ghost typing leaves it with just one weakness: Fairy.

Its Mega Energy matters more than usual this week. From Halloween Part 2 (November 1), Mega Sableye can climb to Super Max Level, which takes Max Mega Level plus extra Sableye Mega Energy, according to the official Part 2 post. Our Halloween Part 2 guide explains why a Super Max Sableye pairs well with Part 2’s Ghost-type spawns.

Shadow raids: Shadow Landorus’s last weekend, then Shadow Tornadus

Niantic lists Shadow Landorus (Incarnate Forme) in Shadow Raids from October 7 to November 3. Leek Duck says it appears on weekends, so Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1 are your last days for it. Shadow Tornadus (Incarnate Forme) takes over from November 4 to November 8, and again from November 16 to December 1, per Niantic. With the same weekend pattern, its first full days fall on November 7-8, just after this week.

Best Shadow Landorus counters

Landorus is Ground and Flying, so Ice moves hit it with a double weakness. Water is its only other weakness. Snow boosts Ice attackers. Pokebattler’s top picks are White Kyurem (Ice Fang, Ice Burn), Mega Mewtwo Y and X (Psycho Cut, Ice Beam), Primal Kyogre (Waterfall, Avalanche) and Shadow Mamoswine (Powder Snow, Avalanche). Budget picks: Galarian Darmanitan, Baxcalibur, Mamoswine, Glaceon and Cetitan with Avalanche, plus Weavile with Triple Axel. Pokebattler estimates about 2-3 trainers with top counters and around 3-4 with the budget team.

Niantic’s graphic lists Dynamax Sableye in Max Battles from October 26 to November 1, and Dynamax Machop from November 2 to November 8. According to Leek Duck, Monday, November 2 is a Max Monday for Machop: Max Battles run from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. local, Power Spots refresh more often, and there are extra Power Spots compared with the rest of the week. New to Max Battles? Our Max Battle Day guide explains Max Particles and Power Spots.
