The Wolf Among Us Remastered Switch version won’t launch on October 29 after all. On October 16, Telltale Games said the Switch version “needs a little more time” and “will launch later,” with no new date yet. The PS5, Xbox and PC versions are still on track for October 29 (Telltale on Bluesky).
Some posts going around call the Switch version delayed “indefinitely.” Telltale didn’t say that. Its statement promises an updated Switch release date “as soon as we can,” and the post itself says “Timing coming soon.”

What Telltale said about the Wolf Among Us Remastered Switch delay
The full statement, posted as an image on Telltale’s social accounts and reprinted by Gematsu, presents the delay as a quality decision. Bringing The Wolf Among Us to Switch “for the very first time” is “an exciting moment for us,” Telltale wrote, “we’re taking some additional time to ensure we deliver the experience Nintendo players deserve.” It didn’t name a technical problem, so any specific cause you see online is a guess.
That “first time” detail matters. The original 2013 adventure never came to a Nintendo console, so for many Switch owners this would be their first chance to play Bigby Wolf’s case.

What about Switch 2?
This is the open question. When Telltale and co-publisher PM Studios announced the remaster in June, Switch and Switch 2 were both on the platform list. By the August release-date announcement, Gematsu’s report listed only Switch, while Nintendo Life still described it as a “Switch 1 and 2” launch. The October statement only says “Nintendo Switch,” and Nintendo Life points out that it doesn’t mention Switch 2 at all. We couldn’t find a US eShop listing for the remaster when we checked on October 17.
Until Telltale clarifies, assume both Nintendo versions wait for the same new date. Recent releases have handled the two consoles differently: Cult of the Lamb’s Switch 2 edition is a free upgrade for Switch owners, while Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 launched as Switch 2-only eShop releases.
What’s in The Wolf Among Us Remastered
The remaster bundles all five episodes of the 2013 Fables noir mystery. According to the Steam page and Telltale’s announcements, it adds:
- Improved lighting, updated animation, refined environments and a new interface
- Higher resolution and frame rate, plus better accessibility features
- Noir Mode, which plays the whole story in black and white and can be switched on or off at any time
- More than an hour of extras: behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, galleries and playable deleted scenes
It’s worth your time if you like story-first detective games where choices change how characters treat you. It’s also a mature, violent story, so it isn’t one for younger players.

Price and other dates to watch
Telltale hasn’t announced a price yet. On October 15 the studio said it would “have more to share on October 20” about price and discounts (Telltale on Bluesky). October 20 is also the day of the ID@Xbox Showcase, where the game is confirmed to appear; our ID@Xbox Showcase guide has start times. Physical editions will come later than the digital launch, according to the June announcement.
What’s next
Switch players should keep the remaster on their wishlist and watch Telltale’s channels for a new date, which could come with the October 20 price news or after the October 29 launch on other platforms. Fans on PS5, Xbox and PC can play on day one. If you’re looking for something to play on Switch in the meantime, our list of the best cozy games on Switch 2 is a gentler place to start. We’ll update this post when Telltale announces the Switch date.
