Phantom Blade Zero has sold more than 4 million copies in its first 72 hours, developer S-GAME announced on November 2 on the game’s official X account. It is the first sales figure the studio has published for its wuxia action RPG. The game launched digitally on PS5 and PC on October 29.
The post is short: “Phantom Blade Zero has sold over 4 million copies in just 72 hours!” followed by “Thank you everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support!” S-GAME gave no split by platform or region and no revenue figure.

How 4 million compares with the estimates
Before launch, the only numbers came from analysts, and the official figure is well above all of them. On October 28, Alinea Analytics’ Rhys Elliott estimated about 850,000 pre-launch copies across Steam and PS5, with Steam making up 73.8% of that, according to eXputer and GamingBolt. Elliott said sales on Tencent’s WeGame store would push the total “well past” 1 million. That was his extrapolation; no WeGame number was ever published.
The two figures measure different things. Alinea counted pre-orders before release, and S-GAME’s total covers the first three days on sale. Even so, the gap suggests how much of the demand arrived at launch, or went through channels the trackers could not see. Eurogamer reports that the 4 million figure includes WeGame sales, which matters for a game whose Steam pre-orders came largely from China, Taiwan and Hong Kong, according to Alinea.
Steam players: the biggest launch of 2026 so far
On launch day, SteamDB recorded an all-time peak of 723,876 concurrent players, Insider Gaming reported on October 29. Eurogamer says the count kept rising through the weekend to 833,921, which makes it Steam’s biggest launch of the year so far, ahead of Forza Horizon 6. That is still well short of Black Myth: Wukong, the 2024 Chinese action game it is often compared with, which peaked at 2,415,714 on Steam, also per SteamDB. Steam’s own player-count API showed about 398,000 people playing at 09:30 UTC on Monday, November 2.
Those numbers cover Steam only. PS5, the Epic Games Store and WeGame have no public player counts, which is why the sales figure is the first real measure of the whole launch.

What it means for S-GAME
For a new premium release at $59.99 and up, four million copies in three days puts Phantom Blade Zero among the biggest launches of the year. It also strengthens the case that Black Myth: Wukong was not a one-off for big-budget action games from Chinese studios. PS5 is the game’s only console, and Sony gave it a dedicated State of Play in August. Any detail on how sales split between PS5 and the three PC stores would have to come from S-GAME or Sony, and neither has given one.
If you’ve just picked it up, our Phantom Blade Zero beginner’s guide covers the systems the game explains least. The full bosses list by region, the best weapons and what to upgrade first and the true ending requirements cover the rest.
What’s next
The game is digital-only for now. S-GAME said in October that a PS5 physical edition arrives in 2027, without giving a date or price (details in our launch and physical edition report). The studio has not announced any DLC or post-launch content plans with the sales figure. We’ll update this story if S-GAME or Sony publishes a breakdown by platform or a new milestone.
