Phantom Blade Zero launches digitally on October 29 at 10 am Beijing time (02:00 UTC), which is 7 pm PT / 10 pm ET on October 28 in the Americas, on PS5 and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. Pre-load opens two days earlier. The new part: S-GAME says a PS5 physical edition is coming, but not until 2027.
The studio confirmed both in a post on the official Phantom Blade Zero account on October 22, alongside the game’s official launch trailer, which closes on the physical-edition tease.

Phantom Blade Zero release time and pre-load
S-GAME gave the times in Beijing time and Pacific time. Here they are with the conversions (Europe has moved to winter time by launch week; the US hasn’t yet):
| Pre-load opens | Game unlocks | |
|---|---|---|
| Beijing (official) | Oct 27, 10:00 am | Oct 29, 10:00 am |
| Pacific (official) | Oct 26, 7:00 pm PT | Oct 28, 7:00 pm PT |
| Eastern | Oct 26, 10:00 pm ET | Oct 28, 10:00 pm ET |
| UTC / UK (GMT) | Oct 27, 02:00 | Oct 29, 02:00 |
| Central Europe (CET) | Oct 27, 03:00 | Oct 29, 03:00 |
The store data matches: the PlayStation page lists a release of 2026-10-29 at 02:00 UTC, and Steam’s store data carries the same timestamp. It looks like a simultaneous worldwide unlock rather than a midnight-local rollout.
Clear some space first. Push Square reports the PS5 version needs around 134GB, a figure that comes from PlayStation database trackers. S-GAME hasn’t published an official file size.

The catch: the PS5 physical edition won’t arrive until 2027
Phantom Blade Zero has only been sold digitally since pre-orders opened in August, and that won’t change at launch. S-GAME’s post says the “PS5 physical edition arrives in 2027”, with no month, price or retailer list. If you want the game on day one, digital is the only option.
According to Push Square and Polygon, the trailer’s closing card shows three boxed PS5 editions:
- Standard Edition
- Deluxe Edition
- Ultimate Edition, with a collectible steel case. It has no digital equivalent, and its contents beyond the case haven’t been detailed.
Prices for the boxed editions haven’t been announced. Outlets expect them to follow the digital prices, but that’s an estimate. It’s also not confirmed how the game will ship: 134GB is more than a standard PS5 disc holds, so Push Square notes it would need two discs or a required download. The trailer art shows a single disc. Gematsu, Push Square and Polygon all report the physical release as PS5 only. No physical PC version has been mentioned.
Phantom Blade Zero editions and prices
Two digital editions are up for pre-order on the PlayStation Store, Steam and the Epic Games Store. US prices from the PlayStation Store and Steam, checked October 22 at 10:30 UTC:
| Edition | Price | What’s included |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | $59.99 | Full game |
| Digital Deluxe | $69.99 | Full game, Wulin Legend and Blood-Steel Form appearances, digital artbook, digital soundtrack |
According to the PlayStation Store page, pre-ordering either edition unlocks the Treasure Basin accessory (+10% Remnant Dust drop rate) and the Legacy appearance early. Both can also be earned in the game. Pre-purchasing on Epic also unlocks Soul’s outfit in Fortnite, per S-GAME. If you play Fortnite, our Fortnite season end date guide covers what’s happening in-game this month. On PS5, the store lists the game as PS5 Pro Enhanced.

What kind of game is Phantom Blade Zero?
It’s a single-player wuxia action RPG built in Unreal Engine 5 by Beijing studio S-GAME. You play Soul, a swordsman framed for his master’s murder and left with 66 days to live. The store pages promise more than 30 weapons and over 20 “Phantom Edges” taken from defeated enemies. Donnie Yen is a creative consultant on the combat design and the motion-capture actor for the character Mó Yuan, as covered in Sony’s State of Play deep dive on the PlayStation Blog.
Launch week is crowded. Modern Warfare 4 lands first (see our MW4 release time by region), and if you’re cutting back elsewhere, check the games leaving PS Plus in November and the current PS Store Planet of the Deals sale.
What’s next
Pre-load opens October 26 at 7 pm PT, and the game unlocks two days later. S-GAME has not yet given a date, prices or full contents for the 2027 physical editions. We’ll update this story when it does, and we’ll have a beginner’s guide at launch.
