Three more Game Boy games join Nintendo Switch Online on October 27, 2026: Jaleco’s ghost-possession platformer Avenging Spirit, the Nintendo puzzle adventure Mole Mania and HAL Laboratory’s Pinball: Revenge of the ‘Gator. Nintendo of America announced the Game Boy – Nintendo Classics update on X on October 23 with a short trailer, and they come at no extra cost for any Nintendo Switch Online member.
Unlike the Game Boy Advance drop earlier this month, you don’t need the Expansion Pack for these. Nintendo’s membership page puts the Game Boy library in the basic tier ($19.99 a year individual, $34.99 family in the US), alongside the NES and Super NES apps.

Avenging Spirit: worth your time if you like odd platformers
Avenging Spirit (1992) has a premise that still stands out. An evil syndicate guns down the hero while he’s out with his girlfriend, a scientist’s daughter, and kidnap her to force her father to help them harness ghost energy. He comes back as a ghost and takes over the bodies of other characters to fight through six stages and rescue her. Nintendo’s official description calls possession the game’s signature system, and the trailer shows the hero’s ghost form floating through a stage.
If the idea sounds familiar, the arcade original is already sold on its own on the Switch eShop through Ratalaika Games. This is the separate Game Boy version, now included with the membership.
Mole Mania: the pick for puzzle fans
Mole Mania (1997) puts you in charge of Muddy Mole, who is out to beat the farmer Jinbe and get his wife and kids back. Each screen is a puzzle: you push, pull and throw black iron balls to trap enemies or blast open exits, and burrow underground to reach the next area. There are bosses throughout Jinbe Land, plus a two-player VS Mode where one player attacks as Muddy and the other defends as Jinbe, scoring on cabbages dropped.
It’s the update’s cozy pick: slow-paced and clever, and the kind of game that suits short sessions in handheld mode. If you liked the puzzle side of our best cozy games on Switch 2 list, start here.

Pinball: Revenge of the ‘Gator: a HAL game from before Kirby
HAL Laboratory made Revenge of the ‘Gator before Kirby existed. It has four main stages and three bonus stages, and each stage has its own goal. You start with three balls, and a ball that drops all the way to the Gator Stage at the bottom ends your turn. Modes listed by Nintendo are Gator 1Player (with a top-five high-score table), Gator 2Players and Match Play.
Fans in the Nintendo Life comments are already asking why HAL’s later Kirby’s Pinball Land still isn’t on the service. Nintendo hasn’t said anything about it.
