Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea launches on November 18, 2026, on every platform the game is on, and Microsoft’s store data puts the unlock at 14:00 UTC (9 a.m. ET, 6 a.m. PT). You’ll need the base game, and you can only start the story after a short list of early quests, which you can check today. Prices are not listed yet on any store we checked on November 6.
Here’s what Gameloft has confirmed so far about the fourth paid expansion: the four editions and how many Moonstones each one includes, the five new Villagers, Dory and the two Deluxe companions, and the exact quests that unlock the Keepsake Sea story.

The Keepsake Sea release date and time
Gameloft’s support page confirms November 18 “on all supported platforms”, and the Steam page shows the same date. The only store with a time is Microsoft’s: its catalog data for the Xbox listing sets the release at 2026-11-18 14:00 UTC (checked Nov 6, 14:01 UTC). US clocks moved back on November 1, so that’s 9 a.m. Eastern Standard Time.

How much is The Keepsake Sea?
Not listed yet. This is what each store showed on November 6 between 14:00 and 14:06 UTC:
- Steam: the expansion page is up as “Coming soon” with no price.
- Xbox / Microsoft Store: the listing exists, but it can’t be bought yet and carries no price.
- Gameloft’s expansion page: a Wishlist button for the expansion, “Coming soon” for the Deluxe Edition, no price.
- Mac App Store: the in-app purchase list doesn’t include The Keepsake Sea yet.
- PlayStation Store and Nintendo eShop: Gameloft’s buy buttons for both still lead to the base game.
For context, here’s what the earlier DDV expansions cost on Steam today (US, checked Nov 6, 14:00 UTC). This is not a prediction for The Keepsake Sea.
| Expansion | Released | Steam price (US) |
|---|---|---|
| A Rift in Time | Dec 5, 2023 | $29.99 |
| The Storybook Vale | Nov 20, 2024 | $29.99 |
| Wishblossom Ranch | Nov 19, 2025 | $29.99 |
| Honeyglow Woods (Adventure Pack) | Jul 8, 2026 | $16.99 |
The base game is $39.99 on Steam. On the Mac App Store, the Wishblossom Ranch Deluxe Edition is $49.99. We’ll add Keepsake Sea prices once a store lists them. Other sales are in our Black Friday 2026 gaming deals hub.
Keepsake Sea editions: what each one includes
Gameloft lists four ways to get the expansion. Two are for people who already own Disney Dreamlight Valley, and two include the base game.
| Edition | For | What’s included | Moonstones |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Keepsake Sea (Expansion) | Base game owners | The expansion | 5,000 |
| The Keepsake Sea – Deluxe Edition | Base game owners | Expansion, Flounder and Sebastian Adventure Companions (each with a quest featuring Ariel), Merfolk Mansion House Style, Gilded Shell Tops | 10,000 |
| Disney Dreamlight Valley – The Keepsake Sea Edition | New players | Base game + expansion | 13,000 |
| Disney Dreamlight Valley – Ultimate Edition 2026 | New players | Base game + Wishblossom Ranch + everything in the Keepsake Sea Deluxe Edition | 18,000 |
| Arcade Edition (Apple Arcade) | Apple Arcade subscribers | Expansion content on day one, no extra purchase | – |
Gameloft’s support pages also answer a few buying questions:
- Buy it on the platform you play on. Expansions are platform-specific: the new lands only open on the platform where you bought them.
- Xbox Game Pass doesn’t include it. Game Pass covers the base game and free updates. Subscribers can buy The Keepsake Sea separately and play it in the Game Pass install.
- One purchase covers other profiles on Steam, Mac App Store, Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, Microsoft Store and PlayStation. Only the main account gets the bonus cosmetics.
- The Premium Shop works too: Gameloft says expansions can be bought in-game from the Premium Shop.
- Your Valley carries over: your avatar, Villagers, items and progress come with you, as in earlier expansions.
What’s in the Disney Dreamlight Valley Keepsake Sea expansion
A statue appears in the water at Dazzle Beach with a message from an old friend who is “lost and stranded”. To find them, you become a Merfolk, sail to a faraway kingdom and wake four Guardians who watch over the sea. Gameloft’s showcase recap says the story goes back to the start of the Forgetting. The main features:
- Three island Biomes, each with its own underwater area: Shipwreck Shores (a pirate bay with a fortress), Candy Cove (a frosty dessert island) and the Kingdom of Oublié (a coral and seashell city above and below the waves).
- Merfolk form: over 50 fin, tail, ear and other options, according to the Steam page. You can still talk to Villagers, take photos and do DreamSnaps as a Merfolk.
- Swimming everywhere: Merfolk can swim on surface water across the Valley and the older expansions, and dive into ripples to catch fish straight away.
- An Enchanted Pirate Ship: sails between the islands, takes up to four Villagers as crew, salvages items with its crane and has a customizable sail and flag. Below deck, the Captain’s Cabin can be decorated and has crafting, cooking and storage.
- Underwater decorating: each Biome has its own kits and water props. Special platforms raise or lower items, so builds can sit at different heights. Decoration Blueprints return, with large centerpieces to restore.
- Adventure Companions: a new type of companion that helps you find items underwater and follows you on land in a bubble.

Keepsake Sea characters
All of these come from Gameloft’s announcement and the Steam page. We don’t list datamined characters. Gameloft hasn’t named the four Guardians or the lost friend yet.
| Character | From | Role | Where you meet them |
|---|---|---|---|
| Milo Thatch | Atlantis: The Lost Empire | Villager (cartographer and linguist) | Shipwreck Shores |
| Captain Jack Sparrow | Pirates of the Caribbean | Villager | Shipwreck Shores |
| Megara | Hercules | Villager | Candy Cove |
| Captain Hook | Peter Pan | Villager | Candy Cove |
| Wendy | Peter Pan | Villager | Kingdom of Oublié |
| Dory | Finding Nemo | Adventure Companion (included) | The underwater areas |
| Flounder | The Little Mermaid | Adventure Companion (Deluxe only) | Deluxe quest with Ariel |
| Sebastian | The Little Mermaid | Adventure Companion (Deluxe only) | Deluxe quest with Ariel |
Gameloft also mentions a magical narwhal in Candy Cove. Adventure Companions come with their own rewards, and Gameloft says Flounder and Sebastian have Bonding Levels and unlock reward items as you level them up, like regular companions.
How to start The Keepsake Sea
Gameloft’s support page lists the requirements. You need to own the expansion and have Ursula unlocked. You also need to finish these six Dreamlight Valley story quests:
| # | Quest | Quest giver |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | The Dream Castle | Merlin |
| 2 | Friendship Is Everything | Merlin |
| 3 | Making Cents of Things | Scrooge McDuck |
| 4 | Scrooge McDuck’s Grand Re-opening | Scrooge McDuck |
| 5 | Fishing Expedition | Goofy |
| 6 | With Great Power… | Merlin |
Once you meet those requirements:
- Update the game on November 18 and make sure the expansion shows as owned on the platform you play on.
- Load into your Valley and go to Dazzle Beach.
- Find the mysterious statue in the water. It holds the message from the stranded friend that starts the story.
- Follow the quest. Your underwater adventures begin once you unlock your Merfolk form, and Gameloft says Shipwreck Shores is the first island you’ll reach.
Worth doing before launch: check your quest log for the six quests above, and make sure Ursula has moved in. New players who start fresh with the Keepsake Sea Edition will need to get through the opening quests first. Gameloft’s requirement list doesn’t mention any earlier expansion, so you don’t need A Rift in Time, The Storybook Vale or Wishblossom Ranch.
