The 99 Nights in the Forest Trick or Treat event is live right now, and the official Roblox listing gives it a firm window: October 17 at 17:00 UTC to Saturday, October 24 at 12:00 UTC (8:00 AM ET / 5:00 AM PT). This year you can’t just knock on doors. You need costume pieces, and a full matching set doubles your Candy. Below: the exact steps, the payout table, every shop price, the three new badges, and which codes still work.
Table of Contents
Quick answer
- Official dates: Trick or Treat “Part 1” runs October 17, 17:00 UTC to October 24, 12:00 UTC, per Grandma’s Favourite Games’ event listing on Roblox (checked October 20, 12:40 UTC).
- How Candy works: light a decorated house with a Halloween Candle, come back after dark wearing costume pieces, and knock. Each piece gives 1 Candy. A matching 4-piece set gives 8.
- No costume = no Candy. Knocking with nothing on is a guaranteed Trick with a debuff.
- Top reward: the Vampire Alpha Wolf pet skin for 200 Candy, which is 25 full-set knocks.
- Codes: there is no Halloween 2026 code. Three older codes are still listed as active (table below).

When does the 99 Nights Trick or Treat event end?
The official listing on Roblox ends on Saturday, October 24 at 12:00 UTC. Here is that time around the world:
| Time zone | Event start (Oct 17) | Listing ends (Oct 24) |
|---|---|---|
| UTC | 17:00 | 12:00 |
| US Eastern (EDT) | 1:00 PM | 8:00 AM |
| US Pacific (PDT) | 10:00 AM | 5:00 AM |
| UK (BST) | 6:00 PM | 1:00 PM |
Two things to know before you plan around that date:
- It’s labeled “Part 1”. The listing’s subtitle says so, which points to more Halloween content after it. As of October 20, 12:40 UTC, no Part 2 listing has been posted in the game’s official events feed.
- Some guides say the Halloween content stays until October 31. AllThingsHow and GGGamer both report that. The developer hasn’t said it on the listing, so treat October 24 as the safe deadline for anything you really want.
Last year’s official listings show how Halloween rolled out in 2025: one new piece every week.
| 2025 Halloween update | Official listing dates (UTC) | What it added |
|---|---|---|
| Trick or Treat! (week 1) | Oct 18 to Oct 25 | Houses lit with Candles, tricks and treats |
| Potion Making (week 2) | Oct 25 to Oct 31 | Cauldron potions with Halloween ingredients |
| The Hedge Maze (final week) | Nov 1 to Nov 8 | Carnival machines and a hedge maze with Candy prizes |
That’s a pattern, not a promise. This year the studio has been shipping bigger updates every two weeks (Helping Happy on October 3, Trick or Treat on October 17), so a follow-up could just as easily land on October 31. We’ll update this guide when a new listing appears.
How to trick or treat in 99 Nights in the Forest (step by step)
Here’s the order to do things in, based on the walkthroughs from AllThingsHow, Treyex Gaming and GGGamer:
- Build a Costume Closet at camp first. The blueprint is in the Crafting Bench menu. AllThingsHow lists the build cost as 3 logs. Every costume piece you pick up goes straight into it.
- Hunt for costume pieces during the day. Wolves (grey, black and alpha) and cultists can drop them. Purple Costume Boxes near cabins, ruins and other points of interest hold them too. No strong combat class? Go for the boxes.
- Equip pieces in the closet. There are four slots: hat, shirt, pants and accessory. Try to fill all four from one set.
- Light houses while it’s still light out. Place a Halloween Candle at the front of a decorated house. You need one Candle per house. Candles come from chests, cultist drops and cleared cultist events.
- Knock after dark. Walk up and press E (tap on mobile). In daylight the door just tells you to come back when it’s dark.
- Re-dress before the next door. The pieces you wear are used up on every knock. Grab fresh ones from the closet.
A visited house goes on cooldown, then resets later in the run, so long runs can farm the same doors more than once. Your Candy is banked between runs, but costume pieces are not: every new game starts with an empty closet.

How much Candy do you get per house?
The two most detailed guides agree on these numbers:
| What you wear at the door | Candy per knock | Extra |
|---|---|---|
| Nothing | 0 | Guaranteed Trick plus a debuff |
| 1 to 4 mismatched pieces | 1 per piece | None |
| Some pieces from the same set | 1 per piece + a small bonus | “Luck and candy boost” |
| Full 4-piece matching set | 8 | “Mega luck and candy boost” and a shot at rare Treats such as a pet frog |
What to do: don’t waste single pieces on doors early. Save them until you can wear a full set. A full set is twice the Candy of four random pieces, and it’s the only way to earn the Costuming badge.
All 6 costume sets
| Set | The 4 pieces |
|---|---|
| Astronaut | Helmet, Suit, Boots, Jetpack |
| Dinosaur | Hood, Body, Tail, Feet |
| Lobster | Head, Body, Claws, Legs |
| Mummy | Head Wraps, Wraps, Leg Wraps, Scarab Brooch |
| Pirate | Hat, Shirt, Boots, Hook |
| Werewolf | Hood, Shirt, Tail, Legs |
Piece names are from AllThingsHow. All three guides list the same six themes. AllThingsHow adds that pirate pieces drop more often from the pirate-style cultists, and astronaut pieces from the alien mobs near the crashed UFO.
Tricks to watch out for
A Trick is a temporary prank, but some can get you killed at night. Players report:
- Ball and chain: slows you down and stops normal jumps.
- Frog curse: turns you into a tiny frog that can’t fight. Bad news if cultists raid camp.
- Costume loss: strips every piece you’re wearing.
- Others: dropped items, a pumpkin over your screen, getting flung, inverted controls.
Treats are random. According to AllThingsHow, they can be Candy, more costume pieces, furniture, food, weapons like the Raygun or Laser Cannon, or short perks such as no hunger for a few minutes.
99 Nights Halloween shop: every item and price
Spend Candy at Happy the Halloween Guy’s shop in the lobby. Talk to Happy and pick “Open shop”. Prices below are from AllThingsHow (updated October 19) and GGGamer (October 19), which list the same numbers:
| Item | Candy | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Halloween Decor | 10 | Spooky crafting bench designs |
| Spooky Crock Pot | 25 | Pumpkin cooking pot |
| Shrapnel Grenade | 30 | Equipment |
| Fancy Dressed Clothes | 30 | The event class |
| Coffin Chair | 30 | Furniture |
| Pile of Skulls | 30 (also seen at 50) | Furniture |
| Spooky Braziers | 50 | Furniture |
| Standing Coffins | 80 | Furniture |
| Candy Corn Bunny | 80 | Tamed bunny skin |
| Vampire Alpha Wolf | 200 | Alpha Wolf pet skin |
One of everything costs about 565 Candy, or roughly 71 full-set knocks. Items with a clock icon in the shop are Halloween-only, including the Vampire Alpha Wolf, the Candy Corn Bunny and Fancy Dressed. Always check the in-game price before you buy.
What to buy first
- Fancy Dressed Clothes (30). According to AllThingsHow, the class raises costume drop rates at level 0, the Treat chance at level 1 and Candy per knock at level 2. Buying it early makes everything after it faster.
- Vampire Alpha Wolf (200). The headline reward. Save for it next.
- Candy Corn Bunny (80), then furniture with whatever is left.

New Halloween 2026 badges
The community wiki’s badge list has a Halloween 2026 section with three badges. All of them pay Diamonds:
| Badge | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Candy Collecting | Collect Candy at a house for the first time |
| Carving | Bring a pumpkin to a carving station and carve it |
| Costuming | Trick or treat wearing 4 matching costume pieces |
AllThingsHow says carving tables sit in cultist camps, and carving your first pumpkin also unlocks the Jack-o’-Lantern blueprint. Treyex Gaming’s guide notes some shop items unlock later in the event, so check Happy’s shop again after each update.
If you missed the October 3 Helping Happy quest, its three badges (Reaping, Strawcraft, Sweeping) are on the same wiki page.
99 Nights in the Forest codes (checked October 20, 2026)
There is no Halloween 2026 code. Last year’s happyhalloween code (10 Candy) is expired everywhere. These three codes appear as active on at least two dated lists:
| Code | Reward | Listed as active by |
|---|---|---|
| awardwinner_yay | 15 Diamonds + 3 Flames | Destructoid (Oct 19), Beebom (Oct 8), community wiki |
| forestwakesup26 | 15 Diamonds + 3 Flames | Destructoid (Oct 19), PC Gamer (Oct 12), Beebom (Oct 8), wiki |
| afterparty | 15 Diamonds | Destructoid (Oct 19), PC Gamer (Oct 12), Beebom (Oct 8), wiki |
The chat code yay fishing (2 Diamonds, typed in chat while fishing) is disputed: PC Gamer and the wiki list it as working, while Destructoid moved it to expired. To redeem the others, open the Diamonds shop in the lobby and press the Codes button. Codes are one use per account.
Is it worth playing right now?
Yes, if you want the pets. 99 Nights in the Forest had about 194,000 players online when we checked the Roblox API at 12:41 UTC on October 20, with more than 30 billion visits. Busy servers make it easier to find a team that splits jobs: one player farms costume boxes, one lights houses, one keeps the fire going. FAQ
When does Trick or Treat end in 99 Nights in the Forest?
The official Roblox listing ends on October 24, 2026 at 12:00 UTC (8 AM ET). Some guides report the Halloween content stays until October 31, but the developer hasn’t confirmed that on the listing.
How do you get Candy fast?
Wear a full matching 4-piece costume set for 8 Candy per knock, light several houses with Candles during the day, then visit them all after dark. Buying the Fancy Dressed class early boosts costume drops and Candy.
Are there 99 Nights in the Forest codes for gems?
Yes. awardwinner_yay, forestwakesup26 and afterparty each give 15 Diamonds (the game’s gems), and the first two add 3 Flames. None of them give Candy.
Do costume pieces carry over between runs?
No. Your Candy is saved, but costume pieces reset with every new run, and each piece is used up when you knock.
How much Candy is the Vampire Alpha Wolf?
200 Candy, which works out to 25 knocks in a full matching set.
