007 First Light now has a free demo. IO Interactive released the 007 First Light Free Starter Pack on November 5, 2026 for PC (Steam) and Xbox Series X|S. It lets anyone play the game’s opening mission in Iceland at no cost. PS5 owners get the same Starter Pack on November 10, and PlayStation Plus Premium members can already play a one-hour trial of the full game.
IOI announced it in a press release on its official site, alongside time-limited discounts on every platform. The studio says progress made in the Starter Pack or the PS Plus trial carries over to the full game if you buy it.

What’s in the 007 First Light demo
The Starter Pack is the game’s first chapter, not a separate slice. IOI’s Steam announcement describes it as the introduction to 007 First Light, where you play a young Naval air crewman, James Bond, trying to survive a military operation gone wrong. The brief is to stay hidden, discover intel and survive. The Starter Pack’s Steam page calls it the opening chapter in Iceland.
Once you finish it, the full game adds the rest of the story, the Challenges and the Tactical Simulations mode, according to that store page.
How to get the 007 First Light Free Starter Pack
- PC: open the “007 First Light Free Starter Pack” page on Steam and add it to your library. Steam lists it as a free Windows demo.
- Xbox Series X|S: search the Xbox Store for 007 First Light and download the Free Starter Pack edition, as Pure Xbox explains.
- PS5: it arrives on the PS Store on November 10. Until then, PS Plus Premium members can play the one-hour Timed Trial.
IOI’s announcement doesn’t mention the Epic Games Store, so for now Steam is the only PC store named.

Does demo progress carry over?
Yes. IOI says progress from the Starter Pack or the PS Plus Premium trial carries over when you buy the game, so you can pick up where you left off. Push Square notes that the hour-long PS Plus trial should let you play a little beyond the first mission.
007 First Light sale prices right now
On Steam, the Deluxe Edition is $47.99 instead of $79.99 (40% off), while the Standard Edition stays at $69.99 (checked November 6, 03:17 UTC). Pure Xbox puts the Xbox discount at $41.99 / £35.99 and calls it the game’s lowest price yet on that store. On PS5, Push Square lists the Deluxe Edition at $39.99 / £34.99 in the PS Store Black Friday sale. Push Square gives November 21 as the end date, while IOI says November 30, so check the store listing before waiting. Why it matters
007 First Light launched worldwide in late May 2026, and IOI said in August that it had sold 4 million units in its first three months. What’s next
The PS5 Starter Pack goes live on November 10. The Steam sale ends November 9 and the Xbox sale November 15. Switch 2 players have the longest wait: IOI confirmed on October 14 that the Switch 2 version launches March 18, 2027, and hasn’t said whether a Starter Pack will come with it.
