The latest Terraria version is 1.4.5.8 on PC, released on August 23, 2026. Xbox, PlayStation and mobile are on 1.4.5.8.1 (September 17), and Switch got the same patch on September 22. That means every platform now has all the 1.4.5.7 balance changes. No platform is a content update behind. Below are the Terraria 1.4.5 patch notes, patch by patch, with dates for each platform, taken only from Re-Logic’s own changelogs. At the end you’ll find where the 1.4.6 crossplay update stands.
- PC (Steam, GOG): 1.4.5.8, August 23, 2026. The dedicated server is also 1.4.5.8.
- Xbox and PlayStation: 1.4.5.8.1, September 17, 2026 (1.4.5.7 and 1.4.5.8 came together on September 3).
- Nintendo Switch: 1.4.5.8.1, September 22, 2026 (1.4.5.8 on September 8).
- iOS and Android: 1.4.5.8.1, September 17, 2026 (1.4.5.8 on September 3).
- Biggest recent patch: 1.4.5.7 (PC, August 19): 33 new items, reworked gem staves, a mana rework, whip stacking with the right accessories, and fairer Moon Lord, Deerclops and Empress of Light fights.
- Next: 1.4.6, Crossplay Phase One. Re-Logic said on October 29 that it was in final testing and not yet sent to Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo for approval. There’s no release date.
- Checked: November 1, 2026, 04:30 UTC, against Re-Logic’s Steam news and the official forum changelog threads.

Terraria latest version on every platform (November 2026)
Re-Logic makes the PC version. DR Studios handles the console and mobile ports, and those builds have to pass approval from each platform holder before they go out. So PC usually gets a patch first. The official 1.4.5.8 thread lists the date each platform got each build:
| Platform | Current version | Released | Behind PC? |
|---|---|---|---|
| PC (Windows, Mac, Linux) | 1.4.5.8 | Aug 23, 2026 | – |
| Xbox / PlayStation | 1.4.5.8.1 | Sep 17, 2026 | No: synced with 1.4.5.8, plus console fixes |
| Mobile (iOS, Android) | 1.4.5.8.1 | Sep 17, 2026 | No: synced with 1.4.5.8, plus mobile fixes |
| Nintendo Switch | 1.4.5.8.1 | Sep 22, 2026 | No: synced with 1.4.5.8 |
| PC dedicated server | 1.4.5.8 | Aug 2026 | No: download from terraria.org |
The “.1” on consoles and mobile is a port-only hotfix. It doesn’t add PC content. In September, Re-Logic wrote: “Remember when Console and Mobile were months (or years) behind PC? We are so glad that is no longer the case.” Two things still trail:
- China mobile edition: at launch, Re-Logic said this separate edition, run with publisher XD, would update to 1.4.5 later than everywhere else. We couldn’t confirm its current version.
- tModLoader: the main mod loader is still on 1.4.4. According to the tModLoader team’s October update, its 1.4.5 port is still in progress, and you can test it on a “1.4.5-dev” Steam beta branch.
Terraria 1.4.5 update history: every patch and its date
The dates below come from Re-Logic’s hotfix posts in the Bigger & Boulder launch thread and the 1.4.5.8 thread. Re-Logic writes them US-style (month/day). Consoles and mobile sometimes got two PC hotfixes in a single patch.

| 1.4.5.7 | Aug 19 | Shipped inside 1.4.5.8 below | Balance patch: 33 new items, mana and gem staff reworks, whip stacking | ||

Note: for Switch 1.4.5.5, Re-Logic’s post gives February 16, the same date as the previous patch. That looks like a copy error, and the community wiki logs it in March. All other dates match Re-Logic’s posts.
Terraria 1.4.5.8 patch notes
1.4.5.8 is a small cleanup of 1.4.5.7. On PC it:
- Makes the Clay Bud always knock enemies away from you.
- Makes the Last Prism’s laser fade out when you fire it without enough mana, so you can see it’s in slow mode.
- Fixes the Mana Regeneration Band stacking bug, which let you regenerate mana at full speed even while using weapons. Re-Logic says stacking the regeneration itself is still intended.
- Fixes prefixes stacking on items thrown into the world, Roller Skates hiding wings, the Dungeon Guardian showing up at the right entrance in underground-dungeon seeds, and Poison Barb applying to the Guide’s arrows.
- Fixes Acorn Slingshot “collapsing the universe on hit”. That’s Re-Logic’s wording.
The console and mobile version of 1.4.5.8 is the bigger one there, because it brought over all of 1.4.5.7 as well. It also fixed several port bugs: an Xbox crash when a Spiked Jungle Slime dies, a crash when hovering over chests, large PlayStation world maps resetting, Rainbow Boulder music not being recordable, the Demon Conch killing players in Drunk worlds, and some split-screen visuals.
1.4.5.8.1 (consoles and mobile only) fixed reconnecting after a network drop. It also fixed some framerate stalls and crashes (DR Studios says it’s still looking into reports), and it made multiplayer hosts get Treasure Bags and Bestiary credit again. Hosts can now spawn the Empress of Light by killing a Prismatic Lacewing, and Rockets hit enemies properly.

Terraria 1.4.5.7 patch notes: what’s new
Re-Logic calls 1.4.5.7 “the latest and last (barring any critical fixes needed) hotfix” for Bigger & Boulder. It’s mostly a balance patch. Re-Logic had planned to release it on every platform at once. Then it shipped PC first on August 19, because the team was travelling to Gamescom.
New items and systems
- 33 new items: new weapons such as the Daybloom Staff, Glacier Fang, Arc Surge, Ruinous Staff and Heavy Sling, plus accessories such as the Silver Bracer, Mobius Strip, Wicked Armlet, Phoenix Quiver, Seraph Necklace and Mystic Arts Sash.
- Gem staves reworked: each gem gives its staff’s shots a unique effect, and a matching gem robe raises the damage. The staves also cost about 30% less metal.
- Kinship Peaches: these empower your Pals.
- Guide To Old Style Parkour: brings back some movement tricks that 1.4.5 removed.
- Two new secret seeds, plus fixes to seed combinations such as “dual daring dangers”.
- Loadout equipment sharing: favorite an item and it’s shared between your loadouts.
- Quality of life: you can skip the respawn timer when no danger is nearby, dismiss sentries with right-click, and open locked chests by using the key on them.
Balance changes by class
| Class | Key changes in 1.4.5.7 |
|---|---|
| Magic | Mana reworked: no regeneration delay, a slow trickle while attacking, and double regeneration while standing still. Mana Stars now give Mana Surge (+20% magic damage that decays over 2 seconds). Unholy Trident damage goes from 88 to 150. |
| Summoner | Whip stacking is back “when the proper accessories are equipped”. Tag effects now apply in any order. Electric Eel and Constellation are reworked to work with minions. |
| Melee | Chlorophyte Saber and Claymore reworked (Saber damage goes from 57 to 80). Paladin’s Hammer can now be swung. Kraken damage goes from 95 to 120, and it now drops from Duke Fishron. |
| Ranged | Rocket self-damage drops to a flat 60. Shroomite stealth is easier to keep, but its maximum ranged bonus falls from 60% to 50%. Ale Tosser counts as ranged again. |
The changelog doesn’t name the accessories that allow whip stacking. Our Terraria class setups guide builds the new 1.4.5.7 accessories into melee, ranger, mage and summoner loadouts for each stage of the game.
Boss fairness fixes
Moon Lord gets warnings before several attacks. Its Phantasmal Eyes stop homing after 1.5 seconds. Moon Lord and the True Eyes no longer deal contact damage, and the True Eyes now attack in sync with it, which removes some attacks you couldn’t dodge. Deerclops’ Shadow Hands no longer hurt you when you can barely see them, and the Empress of Light’s Everlasting Rainbow can’t hit you on its faded parts. If you’re planning a playthrough, our Terraria boss order guide lists every boss, its summon item and its health.
Terraria 1.4.5.1 to 1.4.5.6: hotfix highlights
- 1.4.5.1-1.4.5.2: fixed the game not starting on some iOS versions, crashes from seeds made only of special characters, NPCs only arriving homeless, and a free-crafting exploit.
- 1.4.5.3: storm lightning now deals much less damage (80/160/240 instead of 200/300/400 on Classic/Expert/Master, unchanged on Legendary). It also added Portrait Styles and Screen Shake and Thunder Effects toggles.
- 1.4.5.4: added a menu to toggle secret seeds you’ve unlocked, bulk buying and crafting in 10s (hold Left Shift), and restored the 1.4.4 whip hitbox.
- 1.4.5.5: added the Classic Crafting Window toggle (right-click the crafting button), a Dash keybind with a “Double Tap Dashing” toggle, armor set ability and loadout keybinds, and “Pause When Unfocused”.
- 1.4.5.6: mostly bug and exploit fixes, plus better Russian and Chinese text, a new hairstyle, and the Rainbow Boulder and Silence music boxes.

Terraria 1.4.5 Bigger & Boulder: the base update
Terraria 1.4.5: Bigger & Boulder launched on January 27, 2026 on PC, console and mobile at the same time, everywhere except the China mobile edition. Re-Logic says it added over 650 items, bringing the total past 6,000. The main features:
- New crafting interface that can pull materials from nearby chests without opening them (you can turn this off).
- Banner Menu for claiming banners. Identical items now always stack, even with the same prefix.
- Spectate mode in multiplayer while you wait to respawn.
- Villagers can move in without a house, but they shelter at night. The housing query also got clearer.
- World Seed menu with custom seed combinations, the new Skyblock seed, and new secret seeds such as “royale with cheese” (a separate spawn for each team), “jingle all the way” and “hocus pocus”.
- Dead Cells and Palworld crossover content, such as the Digtoise and Cattiva Pals.
- New atmosphere: biome backgrounds, aurora, thunderstorms and visible fish. It also added Japanese, Korean and Traditional Chinese.

What’s next: Terraria 1.4.6 crossplay
According to the October 2026 State of the Game (October 29), Crossplay Phase One is finished and in “extensive testing”. Re-Logic had hoped to send it to every platform for approval that week, but testing found “a few things that will need to be addressed”. It expected to be “back on track by next week”. After that, Re-Logic says it can’t predict when Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo will sign off. 1.4.6 goes live once all three approve it. There is no official date. Ignore any countdown you see that isn’t from Re-Logic.
Phase One brings to consoles what PC, mobile and dedicated servers already have: joining games on your local network and joining by IP address and port. Phase Two aims for join codes that work across any platform and network. Re-Logic has also said Terraria updates will continue after 1.4.6. We track updates for other sandbox games the same way, such as in our Hytale updates list.
